Exploration and Discovery

We just arrived home from an exotic vacation.  Okay, not quite.  But we DID leave town!  And it WAS a great trip.  It simply wasn’t the one we thought we’d be taking.

There are things we can plan for, and unforeseen situations we cannot.  Our get-away did not go exactly as we thought it would.

And that brings us to what the Universe wants us to focus on, the current message.

Go where the road takes you.

We begin this life with a blueprint, a Big Picture sort of idea.  What we are left to organize on our own, later, are the tiny details.  Add to this mix Free Will Choice, and we end up with the types of lives we actually participate in.

Our Team, our loved ones, our own inner compass, all factor in to where we go, what we do, who we spend time with.  And, most importantly, how well we bounce back from those “unexpected” bumps in the road, the detours which take us to places we had no clue we’d be going.

It’s a soul lesson, these re-routing maneuvers.  We learn from the way we handle it, how we feel, and whether we repeat the same sort of behaviour.  Our goal, obviously, is roll along with compassion and understanding.

Each one of us know though, that’s not always how we react.  Are we doing better than the last time?  Sometimes yes, sometimes no.  Are we trying?  Alrighty then, that totally counts.

It is definitely the Journey, and not the destination.

Here’s a view from our drive home.  It was, as I said, not the trip we thought it would be.  But wow, it certainly was a very VERY good one.

go where the road takes you

Pacific ocean, mid November

Somewhere below Astoria, but above Newport.  As the sun releases this day, I am energized and recharged.  Enjoy this, it was a gift to me, I’m sharing it with you.

At my “day” job, there is a co-worker (one of my bosses, actually), who is fond of telling me to “trust the process” when I’m in the middle of a petulant tantrum of injustice.

This phrase has been on my mind lately, not only because he’s correct in his advice, but because when we recall how we all set our own plans in motion, devised our own blueprints, gathered with our Team and came up with this particular life’s path, the “process” is exactly what we are immersed in, daily.

When I’m feeling at my lowest (recent global news has not been helping), I try to rest my mind and recall that I made these choices.  I intentionally placed my soul in this body, right here…… the only question then becomes, why?

And that, is our message.  We need only wait, trusting our earlier selves, our spirit-selves, to know what and when would be the most perfect way for us to learn and grow.

It’s about Time.

As we’ve always been told, patience is a virtue.  Well, I’ve bristled at and struggled with this forEVER.  Turns out, the virtuous part is not necessarily valid, but the patience aspect, that certainly is.

To worry and fret and whine and bitch gets us nowhere but unhappy.  Waiting, however, and viewing our blessings, acknowledging our gifts, this helps to ease the passage of time, just long enough for us to look back, glancing over our shoulders to the recent past, and seeing the “why” as well as the “when” as we notice patterns and reasons.

To trust that we’ve originally laid things out for our highest and best possible good is a waiting game.  It can be trying and annoying as fuck, but it’s a Universal Truth.  Time, truly, will tell.

It will tell us that we have chosen well.  It will tell us the process is a good one.  It can also tell us that if those selections aren’t going in a direction we now like, we can change them.

And in perfect validation, here is our draw.

it's about time

“Making a Choice  ~  30

You are required to come to a decision now.

You’re faced with a dilemma or a fork in the road and must make a conscious choice regarding the next right action.

Whatever that choice is, you must take responsibility for it – yet you needn’t be afraid.  You may not have all the answers right now, because the way ahead can’t be known until you have embarked and traveled a few steps.

Trust your intuition.  Ask for a sign from the spirit world and you will be led to the right path.

If you remain conscious and aware, your selection will be the right one at this time.  Life is always about learning.

Success lies in choosing consciously, guided by your Inner Voice and heeding the messages that the Universe sends you.”

Autumnal Equinox has come and gone, the Full Moon is just ending, evenings are chilly, the sun has moved, it’s most definitely a new season.  I am embarrassing the changes, and hoping that you are, too.

It’s a process, but I’m trusting in it.

It’s What We Can Do

We live in a flawed world, with rules made up by people.  This is true.  But what is also true is that there are real rules.

Universal Law is on a higher plane and of more value than the back-and-forth of ignorant, petulant man-babies.

We feel confused because in our physical bodies it seems like we need to heed both.  In a way, we do.  However, we don’t need to be overwhelmed by either.

             Here’s what I’m hearing:

steady, with care.

I understand this to mean that we can detach, we can employ SelfCare, we can reach out, or we can burrow down.  Whatever is the best fit for each of us, as individuals, we should do that.

We absolutely do not have to be so entrenched in the news, the worry, the fear mindset that it sends us spinning out of control.

Allow that “control” to wash away; we can allow ourselves to be calm, steady, at ease, of zen mind and soul (the body will follow).

A great lesson for me lately has been to simply “be” in this small house we now call home.  I visit the different rooms, spend time in the space there.  I am not (as!) impatient about FINISHING!!! every corner, every shelf, every wall.

I softly and slowly, with care, envision how each small area will look, eventually.  I rest there, I breathe there, I simply am there.

Practicing this patience is dual purpose.  I’m stepping (literally) away from the frenzy, the media, the stupidity which makes my blood boil, and I walk (literally) in to a calm, steady place.  It’s like a moving meditation.

I believe it can be done anywhere, and I encourage others to try it.  We can’t change all the rules, but we can change our attitude about them.  We can stay involved and current, but we don’t need to let the chaos infect us or our emotions.

Here is the card I was drawn to as I listened and channeled and typed; as a validation, of course, it’s perfect.

stay steady and calm

“Inner Calling  ~  2

You can choose to see your biggest challenges as your best opportunities for inner change and growth.  The trials and ordeals we experience in life are actually for our soul’s evolution.

Take a moment to reflect back on past difficulties and identify how those experiences have made you stronger and wiser.

Now, turn your attention to the present, reminding yourself to take the drama out of your challenges and try to see how they are serving you.

I choose to see challenges as ideal opportunities to work on my inner self.

I look for the blessings in all situations, past and present.

I am connected to the positive aspects of my experience.”

is something I just found out last night.  Did you know……. baby puffins are called PUFFLINGS?!  Of course, they can also be called chicks.  But come on!  Who would pass up a chance to say PUFFLINGS?!

Sometimes, it just Is.

For the past few nights, my dreams and visions have been filled with an uncomfortable mix of depressed and melancholic mood.  Not pleasant.

Also, not sure where it’s all coming from, or even really, where it needs to go.  I’m feeling fine!  But clearly, that’s not what this is about.

Being able to receive the images that I get, is never about me.  Obviously, it’s about others.  It’s about YOU!  (And to that end, I came across an enormously helpful tool yesterday, which will be at the end of this post.)

Here’s what we need to address right now:

dealing with disappointment.

On our path to Acceptance, not all of the travel-stops will be gardens and parks and fun rides.  Some pauses by the wayside will be somber spots.  Areas of contemplation and sadly, loss.

Since we know how Joy feels, and it’s NOT the same as this, we have to understand that there is purpose to these intermissions of grief.  To sit in them, and absorb the fullness of it is the way through and out.

There are merely times which we will be unhappy.  And that’s a fact (not a punishment).  Both sides of emotion are the ultimate Universal Truth.  It’s our reaction and healing that matters now.

And within our regular rotation around the card altar we have a very soothing and uplifting illustration, with such a positive message to accompany it, we can’t help but be reminded of the duality (and circular movements) in all of Life.

Never forget, there is always Hope, and there is always Tomorrow.

“Cultivating Prosperity  ~

‘The abundance of the Universe is pouring into my life!’

Card Meaning:

A stream of abundance is ready to flow into your life, but you need to take action to receive it.  Believe that you deserve it.  Take steps forward by planting seeds for your future prosperity.

The Universe wants you to know:

Right now you are moving toward receiving an outpouring of money, energy, time, and love.  However, you must first know that you deserve it . . . and you do.

Take action in the direction of your dreams.  This is not the time to passively wait for prosperity to fall into your lap.  Give deeply and fully of who you are and what you have, for the more you truly give, the more you will receive.

It is a universal law.  As you focus on gratitude for what you already have, your abundance will grow in leaps and bounds.

Questions to ask yourself:

Am I truly open and ready for abundance to flow into my life?  What could I do to cultivate even more riches?  Is there a symbol in my life that could give me insight into what blocks my prosperity?  What is it saying?

The abundance of the Universe is pouring into my life.”

for those of you who feel so inclined to listen, here is a channeled angel message, from Melanie.

I Am Grateful For Both My Feet.

I am also grateful for a husband who will spend a huge amount of time digging a shockingly small foreign object out of the bottom of my right foot.  (I was going to title this “It’s OUT!” but thought I’d be clever gracious instead.)  Yes, that tiny speck balanced on his sausage finger is the sliver that’s been plaguing me for many days now.

Here’s the conversation we had while I was facing away from him, standing on one foot like a freaking flamingo, after over thirty hours  maybe all of fifteen minutes (punctuated with intermittent roof raising screams):

Me  ~  I cannot stand like this any longer.  And OUCH!

Him  ~  Fine.  I got it.

Me  ~  What?  Really?  Let me see.  Hey, grab the camera.

Him  ~  It looks like maybe it was a thorn.

Me  ~  Who gives a shit what it was?!  Hold still, I want to put this on the blog.

Him  ~  Of course you do.

Me  ~  (Snapping off photos.)

Him  ~ Get back over here so we can at least put a band-aid on it.

Me  ~ (Walking away.)  OKAY!

Him  ~  Like one of those small round ones.

Me  ~  (Handing him the triple antibiotic ointment and what I grabbed from the bathroom.)

Him  ~  Or one of those, sure.

I am now fully mobile and had a very nice (almost) day off.  While I was leaving the pool tonight I saw a lovely young woman who I sometimes splash around with in class (she was there tonight for family swim, with her family, who had abandoned her at the front desk).  We greeted each other and she asked how I was doing.  I said something to the effect that Mercury hadn’t killed me yet, so the answer would be “good so far.”  She wasn’t familiar with the current planetary conditions, so I gave her the over-view.  The relief on her face caused me to hug her.

She was nearly in tears after learning that the horrible series of unfortunate events (and her extremely rude/over the top reactions) were NOT her fault.  I felt so generous and happy as I walked to the car (on both my working feet).  I had shared one small fact that I knew, and had made her day so much better.

Tonight at midnight:13 will be the Solstice, the full moon, and the lunar eclipse.  I have been joking to people today about how I recommend that we should all stay home, under the covers, with the shutters nailed closed, when this happens.  But now I’m thinking maybe we should go outside and see if we can’t be a part of something pretty cool.  Any maybe even hopeful!

Our card did a funny thing this afternoon when I went into the room where the altar is set up.  It sort of moved sideways as I picked it up.  It caused me to have a moment of uncertainty about which direction it needed to go.  I photographed it right side up, but I felt that the definitions should be given for both that direction as well as reversed.  (It threw itself on the floor, just now, as I was typing this.)

“Crow  ~  Law

There is a medicine story that tells of Crow’s fascination with her own shadow.  She kept looking at it, scratching at it, pecking at it, until her shadow woke up and became alive.  Then Crow’s shadow ate her.  Crow is Dead Crow now.

Dead Crow is the Left-Handed Guardian. If you look deeply into Crow’s eye, you will have found the gateway to the supernatural.  Crow knows the unknowable mysteries of creation and is the keeper of all sacred law.

Since Crow is the keeper of sacred law, she can bend the laws of the physical universe and shift shapes.  This ability is rare and unique.  Few adepts exist in today’s world, and fewer still have mastered Crow’s art of shape shifting.  This art includes doubling, or being in two places at one time consciously; taking on another physical form, and becoming the ‘fly on the wall’ to observe what is happening far away.

All sacred texts are under the protection of Crow.  Creator’s Book of Laws or Book of Seals is bound in Crow feathers.  Crow feathers tell of the spirit made flesh.  She is also the protector of the Ancient Records.

Human Law is not the same as Sacred Law.  More so than any other medicine, Crow sees that the physical  world and even the spiritual world, as humanity interprets them, are an illusion.  There are billions of worlds.  There are an infinitude of creatures.  Great Spirit is within all. If an individual obeys Crow’s perfect laws as given by the Creator, then at death he or she dies a Good Medicine death, going on to the next incarnation with a clear memory of his or her past, and with the Universal Knowledge we all seek.

Crow is an omen of change.  She lives in the void and has no sense of time.  The Ancient Chiefs tell us that Crow sees simultaneously the three fates: past, present, and future.  She merges light and dark, seeing both inner and outer reality.

Appearing here now bespeaks the need to pause and reflect on how we see the laws of the Great Spirit in relation to the laws of humanity.  Crow medicine signifies a firsthand knowledge of a higher order of right and wrong than that indicated by the laws created in human culture.  With Crow medicine, you speak in a powerful voice when addressing issues that for you seem out of harmony, out of balance, or unjust.

Remember that Crow looks at the world with first one eye, and then the other, cross-eyed.  You must put aside your fear of being a voice in the wilderness and ‘caw’ the shots as you see them.

As you learn to allow your personal integrity to be your guide, your sense of feeling alone will vanish.  Your personal will can then emerge so that you will stand in your truth.  The prime path of true Crow people says to be mindful of your opinions and actions.  Be willing to walk your talk, speak your truth, know your life’s mission, and balance past, present, and future in the now.  Shape shift that old reality and become your future self.  Allow bending of physical laws to aid in creating the world of peace in which you live.

Contrary:    So you are an outlaw today huh?  This is one of the varied messages of Crow reversed.  The rebel in you has given a yell, and all hell is about to break loose.

A word to the wise at this point: make sure that if you are stepping on toes, you have some back-up.  The catalyst for a bar room brawl is usually the person with the two black eyes.  That is what it means to eat Crow.

If you do not plan to go to such extremes, Crow reversed may indicate that you are merely cheating a little.  If you are lying to yourself on any level, you have lost the power of Crow.  Think about it, and maybe your inner truth will come to you.

In seeing what is true, you many need to weed out past beliefs or ideas to bring yourself into the present moment.  Contrary Crow speaks of needing to remember that Divine Law is NOT judgemental nor denial of self-truths.  Divine Law is honoring harmony that comes from a peaceful mind, an open heart, a true tongue, a light step, a forgiving nature, and a love of all living creatures.  Honor the past as your teacher, honor the present as your creation, and honor the future as your inspiration.”
