On Topic

Continuing our theme from last time, we’re still looking at You Help Me, I Help You intentions.  Much like the “it takes a village” attitude, today’s message focuses on the whole.

We watched an incredible PBS special the other night, featuring dolphins (which, as everyone knows, are right up there with whales and sharks on my Love List).  The way these communities pull together is inspiring.  They keep each other alive!

And that’s what the Universe wants us to spend time with.  The living portion of our daily expressions and movements.  Being entirely present and alive.  Together.

Team Effort

We need our loved ones, they need us.  When we lose one/When one goes Home, we feel that loss enormously.  We know they’re fine, but we miss them.

This makes those around us even more valuable.  If we don’t co-exist in harmony, no one can exist at all.

We have each other.  This is the key.  Support, it is more valuable than we can ever understand.

To validate this important lesson, we’ve been gifted with reminder of how we are all teachers and we are all students.  Together, we make up this classroom.  Together we occupy this enriching place where we can all learn and grow and thrive.

“Follow The Leader  ~  40  ~

‘Every life is a teaching tool for others.  Your authenticity and honesty are an example to those around you.’

You are being called to lead others by example.  Your wisdom has been earned as a result of your bravery in the adventures of your life.

The existence of battles won and lost, places discovered, tears shed, and joy revealed have placed you in a unique position to be of service to others.

Your suffering has been crystallized into a talisman of wisdom.  Now you must share it.

By being fully authentic, you will lead others into the light.  You’ll be required to divulge some things about your past so that you may help someone else.

Lead with love.

There is another message here as well.  Look to those whose great character and accomplishments you admire.  Emulate the leaders you respect.

You will then in turn have more to offer.”

Stealth Style

There’s a saying in the Christian mythos about “mysterious ways” in which the Universe works.  From my standpoint, as a practicing pagan, I have to partially agree.

Often it feels as if life is happening TO US, instead of us living our life.  There seems to be only so much we can do about that.  Some of these decisions and situations we certainly sat down and mapped out.

Others?  Well, those we look to Destiny, and the free will of all who are involved as the answer (and the blame).

Our message right now, and where our focus has to be, is as close to a cliché as I can tolerate.  Problem is, it’s true, and important.

Disguised Blessings

Possibly where we are and who we’re talking to is really the most perfect solution.  The future is malleable.

The future is also our current reality when we arrive there.  Just as this moment now, is our truth.  Soon, today will be behind us.

Let’s make each second count.  Let’s recognize those blessings and mysterious turns as the gifts that they are.  As we appreciate where we’ve been, honoring the place we sit now, while resting our eyes every so gently on where we may go next.

The validation for this one is perfection.  (Again with the old adages, but ya know, maybe that, too, is part of our lesson.)

“Slow and Steady  ~  12

‘Slow and steady wins the race.’

This is the time for easy movement, unhurried steps, and a steady heart.

Trust that taking life at a more leisurely pace will give you greater access to your dreams.

Slowing down allows more contact with the juicier elements of your life.  Savor them.”

has no pictures.  But I’m sure you can imagine a towering stack of boxes in every room of a tiny house, some empty now, some still packed full, and a few with contents spilling out.

That’s our current condition.  Definite progress, but, as the card says, it’s slow.

Looking Close

Is everyone as excited about new calendars as I am?  Of course, there won’t be resolutions.  We’ve learned so much!  And we now know that those are not necessarily productive, nor helpful.

New pages though, with beautiful views?  All those hopes and possibilities?  Absolutely.

That’s right what the Universe wants to remind us of today.  We have so much to be grateful for and to look forward to.  While at the same time being consciously here and present.

Imminent, and Now

One of my major lessons, as everyone is aware, has to do with letting go.  It focuses on the power to NOT keep looking behind me.  This message, of being present but also acknowledging the joy in our future, can be challenging.

Which is probably why it’s so important.   It’s a process that I might need to sit with, and feel all the edges of.  It’s also very promising, bringing inspiration, pulling us back to consciousness.

Reviewing the past year is not the goal, but absorbing what we learned there, that does have value.  Finding the balance, that’ll be where we aim our mind and heart.

Standing amongst my cards, in front of our altar, here is where I was directed.  This is a perfect draw, what with the current Mercury Retrograde we’re still involved with.  I’m including both parts from the Guidebook.

“Details, Details   ~   43   ~

‘The most powerful patterns are created within the tiniest details.

Pay attention.’

Upright:

This is the time to be aware of the fine print in all areas of your life.  Look at the details and leave the broad strokes for another time.

When this card appears in a reading, it is a sign to finesse a project, make small but meaningful gestures, or add a personal touch to your correspondence.

Be aware that what you need to know lies in the details.  If you are entering into an agreement of any kind, pay attention to them before, not after, when it’s too late.

Clarity and transparency are key.  You can gain great understanding by observing the minute body language, offhand remarks, and fleeting facial expressions that reveal the larger picture.

Reversed:

Heed the gentle warning that perfectionism will not lead you to what you desire, but instead will steer you way from it.

Nothing will be good enough when you become obsessed with being perfect.  No one can ever measure up to your scrutiny, and nothing that you can ever do will assuage that general feeling of not being up to par.

You are perfect already, just as you are.

Reversed, the Details Details card challenges you to accept things as they are in all their imperfections – to step into the world and engage it without any expectations.

You are exactly where you’re supposed to be.”

Lest We Forget

A few months before I turned 30, a phenomenon began.  We later learned that it was called Spontaneous Regression.  What happened was, past lives began to play in my head like movies.  I could see, smell, and hear them.

Maybe it works differently for others, but it has occurred to enough of us that there’s a name for it.  (Although, I’ve never met anyone in person, I’ve read quite a few books and on-line accounts about/by folks with similar encounters and experiences.)

Once we figured out what it was, we were fascinated.  The only downside to these “rememberings” was that I now had about a hundred times more recollections to process.

Keep in mind, my primary lesson this time around is to LET GO!  So, gaining more shit to release is kind of a mixed blessings.

For now, it brings us to today’s message.

Memories

Whether it’s from this life, another incarnation, or simply in reference to what went on last week, we all process in an individual and unique fashion.  Applying this to a metaphysical or spiritual aspect can be challenging, it’s difficult to separate out the layers.

As much as we’d like to deconstruct, and remove our emotions from the equation, we are whole and complete only when we blend the components thoroughly.

We have cell memory, muscle memory, early childhood memories, and innumerable types of retained thoughts, impressions, snippets of perception.  It’s all jumbled along like rocks in a clothes dryer.

What we do with this collection is how we move forward.  Do we hoard and hold close?  Do we lovingly treasure and fondle?  Do we look at briefly and toss out?  Do we, perhaps, never even bring them out of the drawer at all?

We have them, now it’s time to decided where they belong.  One use is here on our card altar.  We may use them as lessons, and in that way, we gain knowledge, understanding, and growth.

For me?  I’m gonna cherish the ones I need the most, and hopefully, allow the rest to take off on their own adventure.

“Talisman  ~  49

‘A lesson truly learned is crystallized as earned wisdom.  You have all you need for the success you seek.’

Wisdom allows you to recognize traps on the road and familiar patterns that you want to avoid.  It also enables you to quickly gather information about where you are on your journey.

It helps you recognize your allies and know how to find the bet routes along the way.  Now you’re at a place where you know the right things to do and the best choices to make.

You really can’t commit a mistake.  Whatever your inquiry, great fortune awaits you, for you have the wisdom to arrive at the right decision.

You’ve learned your lessons and earned the right to your success.”

Talkin’ Life Bizness

The blueprints we all construct before putting on these bodies and stepping in to these particular lives, that’s what has been on my mind lately.  Understandably so, what with job searches, births, deaths, and car fires all around me.

However, I’m also hearing that I’m not the only one in transition.  This message is for all of us.

Our lessons and our challenges, our gifts and our blessings.  These are the parts of our journey which make us unique, and many-layered.  The pieces and parts of our life patterns, we have listed and sorted them all.

One of our tasks in this process is to honour every direction, the ups and downs and the in-betweens.  We have our charts in hand when we arrive, and the closer we follow them, the smoother our adventure goes.

Here’s what the main focus is right now:

Contractual Obligations and Agreements of the Soul

To follow our passion and fulfill the promises we made, we have to pay attention.  Are we looking forward to each new day, or dreading it?  Do we glow with a joyous feeling, or do we slump through each chore in a cloud of complaints?

When we aren’t doing our very best, or living up to our commitments, we aren’t helping anyone.  Most especially ourselves.  Fortunately, the solution for improvement is simple.

Since there are no mistakes, merely sidetrips, we can get back on course easily enough.  On our card altar, the Universe has delivered an intense, but necessary, reminder.  Processing our emotions, not hiding from them is a valuable first step.

(I would like to suggest that we all read the words below very carefully, maybe even twice through.  I’ve been directed to include both sections from the guidebook.  Clearly this is important!)

life contracts

“Sad Embrace  ~  45  ~

‘Joy is a part of life.  Let go and allow time to heal you.’

Upright:

You may be entering into a period where loss is the theme. Perhaps you are having to let go of a long-cherished dream.

If so, take heart, for this ending may have been for your highest good.  A better and more powerful dream will be realized in your life if you can accept the loss.

Relationships based on faulty foundations are meant to end at this time.  Disappointment is a form of perception.

If your expectations weren’t met, a sense of loss arises, along with sadness and grief.  Express these emotions.  Tears are like healing rain that can restore life to a parched inner landscape.

Growth is always assured.  Whatever the loss – however great it is – let go, and experience your feelings so that you may soon see what beauty lies ahead.

Reversed:

Are you suffering over your suffering?  Do you feel that life is treating you unfairly and that you have been robbed or deprived of what you’re entitled to?  Do you long for a love that eludes you, or the success that has been bestowed upon others?

Righteous anger and a sense of entitlement lead to a trap of ego.  Your suffering and loss will pass if you let them.  If you hold on to your perception of unfairness, then you will find yourself in its tight grip, unable to breathe freely.

The only solution is to drop your victim stance and embrace the sadness so that it may dissipate naturally in time.

Trials and tribulations build character, which is its own gift.  Find something to be grateful for, and take responsibility for your part in all matters.

However painful it may be to sit with your sadness, remember that you are loved and will not be left adrift forever.  Have faith, for this, too, shall pass.

You are not a victim, only a traveler on a hero’s journey.  It’s okay to be disappointed for now, but know that someday you will look back and see great value in this experience.”
