Another Kind of Day

We’ve never been a family who understood the TGIF mindset.  For generations we were the weekend and evening workers.

We covered all shifts, we were there when other folks needed time off for holidays with their loved ones.  It’s how we were raised, it’s what we instilled in our children.

So, it throws me off when I unintentionally end up with a Sunday off.  It also reminds me of how important it is to rest.

I mean, I know it.  I live for it.  I’m just not always able to do it.  To do it with intention.

All I have to share today is this:

take care.  Of yourself.

It’s okay to say “no” when you feel like a request is simply too much.  It’s fine to be selfish.  Because in truth, you are NOT.  You are caring for someone who is valuable and precious.  You are caring for You.

It can be ANY day, and it doesn’t have to be expensive or commercial or extravagant.  But do make it special.  For you.

This is perfection.  For me.  Please find something which speaks to you.  And pursue it.  Sit with it.  Be there.  Be You.

Additionally and Also, Plus

Remember our stewardship messages from Earth Day week?  Well, turns out, we’re not done there.

What I woke up with today was way colorful.  Just as Spring is springing itself silly all over the place right now, so too, is the Universe popping up to say “hey, pay attention!”

So Much More

Our Mother Earth needs us.  If only to notice and say a quick quiet prayer in passing.  We have to continue our caring attitude.  Starting right here at home.

We need to keep in mind that we attract what we focus on.  And currently too much aim is pointed in a negative direction.  Does this country (and planet) have to change?  Oh, hell yeah.

However, are we making those changes in the best way possible?  For our highest good?  For the good of us all?  I’m not so sure.

The way we’ve been going is clearly not working.  We have to change.  We have to do better.  We have to do more.  And we have to do it from a soul level.  In a sacred and lovingkindness sort of way.

And, according to our daily draw, we have to do it on our own. (Even though, ya know, we’re never really alone alone.)

“Solitude  ~  13  ~  Higher Self

Observation, Contemplation, Renewal, Listening

Your desire to seek solitude is appropriate at this time.  You’re being counseled by your Higher Self to retreat, and to renew your soul through quiet contemplation.

Your nervous system has been overstimulated, and you can’t absorb any more input from the outer world.   Step away and give yourself the necessary peace and time alone you require to revitalize your system.

In doing so, you will begin to sense, feel, and even hear the voice of your Higher Self, but only when you step into more natural surroundings.

Reconnect with nature in whatever way is practical, given your circumstances.  Fully open your heart to your Higher Self, even if you fear that you can’t make contact.

You are making contact.  Furthermore, your Higher Self asks you to take your time when contemplating your circumstances and considering your options.  Resist the temptation to yield to any sense of urgency.

There’s no emergency.  Your true direction will make itself known if you are patient.  Your Higher Self also alerts you to the fact that not all the necessary pieces of information to make the best decisions may be apparent yet.

Your Higher Self wisely counsels that sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is do nothing.  The message is to be quiet now, and wait.”

Safe, Cautious, and Caring

It has become a most fascinating way to wake up, this message-every-day phenomenon.  Now, nearing a full year since it began, I still don’t understand it entirely.  But, as you well know, I also don’t question it.

As long as they keep arriving, I’ll keep sharing them.  Some mornings, the images and feelings are much more urgent than others.  Each one is distinct and individual.  Today’s falls on the “important” side.

Taking Care

As you ALSO know by now, I’m not exactly Sally Safety.  (Bike riding with no shoes is merely the latest incarnation.)  However, that doesn’t mean I’m not aware of my surroundings, or possible dangers.  Nor does it mean that I am careless.

We’ve discussed situational awareness here before, and this is similar.  When we are alert, we are better able to understand what is happening, what is taking place, both within and without.  Which also helps us to stay knowledgeable.

But this message talks, too, of Self-Care.  Taking Care is another way of saying CareGiver*, so today we won’t be having a daily draw.  Instead, I’m sharing my other calendar page for the month.  Because when we start with caring for our selves, we are also caring for our Mother.

*The Giving and Taking being a fair energy exchange.

"I appreciate the beautiful world I live in."

I appreciate the beautiful world I live in.

Along the side we have this, from the 2014 version of “You Can Heal Your Life”:

“I love this marvelous planet.

The earth is a wise and loving mother.  She provides everything we could ever need.  There is water, food, air, and companionship.  We have an infinite variety of animals, vegetation, birds, fish, and other natural wonders.

We have treated this planet very poorly, using up valuable resources.  If we continue, we will have no place to live.

I commit to lovingly taking care of and improving the quality of life in this world.  My thoughts are clear and loving and concerned.  I express random acts of kindness whenever I can.  It is my planet, and I help to make it a better place to live.

I imagine a peaceful planet, with a clean, healthy environment for all.  I see all the people on the planet opening their hearts and their minds and working together to create a world where it is safe for us to love each other.

It is possible, and it begins with me.”

Thank you, Louise Hay.  This is the perfect way to celebrate Earth Day.  (I apologize for the rhyme, it was unintentional, but also unavoidable.)

Gaia Gathering

The message I woke up with today was confusing.  But only because it didn’t seem to have a direction.  It just kept wanting to steer me away from, or into, what I thought was entirely too simple.

Of course, we all know that to question this process is to doubt it, so I just gave in and went with it.  Allowing it be whatever it felt like being.  (Who am I to argue?)

The reminder is always a timely one, when we’re speaking of the health of our Mother Earth.  We can’t be TOO dedicated to this.  There is no such thing as taking TOO much care here.   It would be like loving someone TOO deeply.  Not possible.

              The questions I heard were:

are we doing all we can?

could we be trying harder?

is there a need for more diligence?

who will do this if we don’t?

Clearly we needed to hear this one.  And share it.  Because the idea that if we all tried a tiny bit harder, or did even one more ecologically friendly thing, the payoff for us all would be tremendous.

Recently, The Deputy and I were gifted an item that made me  immediately suspicious and uncomfortable.  Disposable, one-use options?  Oh hell no.  Wait, what?  Turns out, the single-drink-and-toss choices are just that, a choice.  There is also a way to reuse, compost, and recycle.  Whew!

What instantly came to mind, when this message first arrived, was that the initial reaction of ours (mine, all mine and no one else’s!) need not be fact.  There are ways around SO many more purchases and processes in our daily lives.  For that, I’m super glad we were reminded.

Figuring out what MORE we can do is a brilliant challenge.  Not the difficult type we usually have to wade through.  This time, it’s not only for everyone’s highest good, but it’s just a beautiful way to show that we care.

And hey, speaking of caring, I was directed to this stack for our daily draw (which required a cover-up).

oracle cards, union, angel messages

“Angel of Union  ~

A partnership is blessed and destined for greatness.

A merger, partnership, or relationship of some kind is being formed which holds long-term benefits for your life.  This relationship, partnership, or merger which is with someone you already know or deal with, is blessed and destined for great success of some kind.

Many great and wonderful things are birthed as a result of this union, which will continue to grow and strengthen for the rest of your life.

Thank the universe for this wonderful blessing!”

When we do good things, good things come to us.  When we take care of our planet, our planet takes care of us.  When we give freely, out of love and caring, we are given love and caring in return.  It’s a Universal Law.  No getting around it.
