Educated Observations

For days now, this message has been bouncing around in my head.  It has refused to take shape.  The edges staying blurred as I struggle with my own personal “things” versus letting go and opening up to receiving what we all need to hear.

Partly it’s been challenging for me because the signs of winter ending are simply not welcome.  I require a much colder forecast than what’s been my reality.

The truth though, is that weather makes a perfect metaphor for where we’re headed.  Wait a few minutes, and it’ll change.

             We are being guided in:

Acceptance Lessons

A strong wind will blow away.  A frost will melt.  A heat wave wilts, to be replaced by a refreshing breeze.  Rain does dry, and even droughts are eventually washed into green again.

So, too, are we moving through our journey.  Our learning changes on every level.  We begin with simple tasks, and move (hopefully) in to more complicated lessons.

That’s our soul’s evolution.  That’s what we’re here for.  That’s the actual goal.

When we get bogged down with the mundane, the physical, the difficulties, we forget to look at how much progress we’ve made.  We forget to notice the beauty in a tranquil sunset, or the glory that is a glitteringly gorgeous frost.

The most basic concept, the most simple idea, that of being in the moment, appreciating the gift in front of us, is what the Universe would like us to hold lovingly close, and to take forward as we walk our path, in all types of weather, on all sorts of roads.

And in validation, here are the two most perfect cards as illustration.

“3 of Water: Emotions

You are becoming more and more available and open to the many opportunities that there are to celebrate in life, and to share this with others.

Let your hair down, take your shoes off, and start splashing in the puddles right now!  The party is happening all around you every moment.

10 of Rainbows: The Physical

We Are The World

This view, humanity being depicted as a rainbow of dancing beings, represents a time of communication, of sharing the riches that each of us bring to the whole, it shows us joined together in joy and gratitude.

When we recognize the common source of our humanity, the common origins of our dreams and longings, our hopes and fears, we are able to see that we are all joined together in the great miracle of existence.

When we can combine our tremendous inner wealth to create treasures of love and wisdom that is available to all, we are linked together in the exquisite patterns of eternal creation.”

From Me to You:

These are the reasons I still have hope.  These are the messages which pull me out of my depression.  These are the signs I find inspiration in.  And to share them, that is what brings me joy.

With Open Arms, Heart, and Mind

Recently I came across a hashtag* I’d never seen before.

*On social media sites, this is a word or phrase preceded by a hash or pound sign (#) and used to identify messages on a specific topic.

It’s not shocking that this was new to me.  I’m on the interwebz, but not of the interwebz, if you know what I mean.  I don’t see much, but I also probably miss more.

This one though, it jumped out at me. (#LoseHateNotWeight)  It reminded me of my particular journey, then it stayed with me, resonating (in a sharp and defined tone) with today’s message.

A few years ago I removed all numbers from my physicality.  They didn’t belong there (for me, personally), they don’t need to be associated with anything body-related.  They are a false and defeating construct.  I let them go.

As I work my way through this eating disorder and adventuring in mental health navigation, I learn and stumble, I struggle and succeed.  It’s chaotic, but it’s where I am now.

And that’s what the Universe wants to remind us.  Where we are now.

We’ve discussed it before, and no doubt, we’ll do so again.  On this occasion though, the suggestion is to keep up with our our Be Here Now attitude.

When we accept, we don’t necessarily acquiesce.  We do not become doormats.  Rather, this action is the reverse of that.  We stand in our strength, claiming our power; being our whole, true, and genuine self.  It’s a badge of pride, this Acceptance.

We’re saying to the world, “yep, this is me, and I’m awesome!

If someone else has a problem with our declaration (or any other thing about us), clearly, this is the problem of that particular someone else.  Not us.

It’s simple, but not easy.  Like so many life lessons.  On our card altar is a lovely validation, and a nice, gentle way to arrive at our Acceptance.

“Existence  ~  1  ~  Major Arcana

This naked figure sits on the lotus leaf of perfection, gazing at the beauty of the night sky.  She knows that ‘home’ is not a physical place in the outside world, but an inner quality of relaxation and acceptance.

The stars, the rocks, the trees, the flowers, fish, and birds – all are our brothers and sisters in this dance of life.  We human beings tend to forget this, as we pursue our own private agendas and believe we must fight to get what we need.

But ultimately, our sense of separateness is just an illusion, manufactured by the narrow preoccupation of the mind.

Now is the time to look at whether you are allowing yourself to receive the extraordinary gift of feeling ‘at home’ wherever you are.  If you are, be sure to take time to savor it so it can deepen and remain with you.

If, on the other hand, you have been feeling like the world is out to get you, it’s time to take a break.  Go outside tonight and look at the stars.”

Today’s News in Channeling:

is to say that I have been getting more and more (urgent!) nudges about my own cards.

There is more than one oracle deck inside of me, trying desperately to get out.  We’ve been talking about it here for a very long time.  I know that once the exact right illustrator is made known to me, we’ll be on the road to publication.

It’s time to start the search for that person, or persons.  If you know someone who draws or creates visual art, send them my way.  These decks are becoming anxious.

Abundant Opportunities

When my witchlings were young children a very wise parent friend of ours told us about picking our battles.  Yes, I’ve referred to this example before, but it’s part of what we need to hear today.

For a two or three year old, saying “clean your room” can be overwhelming.  Instead, give them a choice of not many things they can start with, like, “would you rather begin with socks or books?”

They select one and that’s where the focus goes.  Then, we move on to the next item.  And work on getting those to their proper places.  That’s how the room gets straightened up and no one has to lie on the floor in a puddle of tears and frustration.  (Neither mom nor kid.)

The Universe is suggesting that it’s not necessary for us to feel like an overly tired toddler.  We have . . . . .

All The Choices

We need only pick one, and that can be our starting point.  One at a time, one step, one choice.

Remember the Blondie song lyrics, “anytime, anyplace, anywhere, any how” and the way ALL possibilities were listed?  That’s it, those are all of our options. We can see them, and select the appropriate one.

We have ALL the avenues open to us right now.  If that feels overwhelming, just take it simply and make a choice.  Then, we can go back later, and get another one.

The limitations we tend to believe in are not true.  That’s where we get hung up.  There is no end to the choices we can have and select from.  There is no end to the opportunities available to us.

It’s up to us to grab the one we think will suit us best, first.  Then, we can get another one, later.

On our card altar we are reminded of last week’s draw, where Courage and Honesty are evident.  But now, the validation of today’s message is added to the mix.  (Nice blend, I thought.)

“The Rebel  ~  IV  ~  Major Arcana

The powerful and authoritative figure in this illustration is clearly the master of his own destiny.  On his shoulder is an emblem of the sun, and the torch he holds in his right hand symbolizes the light of his own hard-won truth.

Whether he is wealthy or poor, the Rebel is really an emperor because he has broken the chains of society’s repressive conditioning and opinions.  He has formed himself by embracing all the colors of the rainbow, emerging from the dark and formless roots of his unconscious past and growing wings to fly into the sky.

His very way of being is rebellious – not because he is fighting against anybody or anything, but because he has discovered his own true nature, and is determined to live in accordance with it.

The eagle is his spirit animal, a messenger between earth and sky.

The Rebel challenges us to be courageous enough to take responsibility for who we are and to live our truth.”

Today’s Sharing:

Eugene best grooming salon

These ladies, and some of their personal pets.

As family and friends, we could not be more proud of all that they’ve accomplished in such a short time.  The future is most certainly bright.

Current Consideration

As we near the end of another calendar year (which is really just an arbitrary grab of made-up time), the reviews and countdowns and resolutions begin showing up.  I’ve mentioned before how much I dislike these forced traditions.

They seem to be created for failure.  Now, if we were encouraged to seek out our most accomplished quiet moments, well.  Maybe I’d be more on board.

But as it stands, I’m not a fan.  And what I heard upon entering my meditation space earlier seems to be in agreement.

Not before or after.

This is similar to our recent message of The Here And Now.  It’s about being in the present.  It’s about Being.  Truly and simply.  To the best of our ability.

past lives

I’m showing you this draw here because it is so incredibly validating, we need to talk about it as we go along.

“The Knight of Rainbows  ~  Slowing Down  ~  Mastery of the Physical

The Knight of Rainbows is a reminder that, just like this tortoise, we carry our homes with us wherever we go.  There is no need to hurry, no need to seek shelter elsewhere.

Even as we move into the depths of the emotional waters, we can remain self-contained and free from attachments.

It is a time when you are ready to let go of any expectations you have had about yourself or other people, and to take responsibility for any illusions you might have been carrying.

There is no need to do anything but rest in the fullness of who you are right now…..”

Who we are right now.  Not only do we need to be here in the Now, but we need do nothing more than be ourselves.

“Past Lives  ~  XVIII  ~  Major Arcana  (reversed)

The two rainbow lizards on either side represent knowing and not-knowing.  They are the guardians of the unconscious, making sure that we are prepared for a vision that might otherwise be shattering.

A glimpse into the eternity of our existence is a gift, and understanding the function of karma in our lives is not something that can be grasped at will.

This is a wake-up call; the events in your life are trying to show you a pattern as ancient as the journey of your own soul.”

A wake-up call.  In which we’ve heard the alarm go off, but we keep banging the Snooze button.  We know where we’re supposed to be going, we just can’t afford the gas to get there.

We will though.  Eventually we’ll have what we need.  As long as we remember to stay present.  Not crying over the past, not reaching for the future.

Here.  Now.  Not before, not after.  Just us, being ourselves.  Right here.  Right now.

Today’s Milestone:

was really yesterday.  Eight years, in this spot, my little corner of the internet.  Blogging, visiting, writing, channeling, sharing.

It feels like less and it feels like more, but somehow, it doesn’t feel like 8.

Established Embodiment

I’m smack-dab in the middle of an über busy few days, and predicted heat-wave.  The pool needs me four times in three days (I’ve become the substitute-water-instructor-of-choice.  Apparently).

All of this makes today’s message a tiny bit ironic.  (Still valid, but slightly comical, on a cosmic level.)

Soul focus,

not body.

We are being reminded to look past the false importance of our shells and stay in tune with our own sacred self.  Our inner voice and shining light are so very much more valuable than the physical casing we walk around in.

To do things like therapeutic water movement is an EXCELLENT way to honour our bodies, but at the same time, it’s also a lovely sort of spiritual checking in, too.  We, as a culture, are uncomfortably disconnected on this issue.

Whatever the way we can delve deeper, and make that soul connection, we are being encouraged to do so.  It will benefit us, from the inside out.

And as we return to our regular rotation around the card altar, this draw shows us how very basic it is to begin a releasing process.  We can allow the laser focused mindset on our bodily imperfections to slip away, since really, it was never needed.

(Sidebar: here is our second such message from the cards in less than two weeks.  Remember THIS ?)

Additionally, the number eight in a symbolic sense, is the infinity sign on its side.  We are in a continuous state of ending, beginning, ending, and beginning a new.  The more we are aware of it, the less challenging it becomes.

8 of water

“Letting Go  ~  8  ~  Water: Emotions

In this image of lotus leaves in the early morning, we can see in the rippling of the water that one drop has just fallen.

It is a precious moment, and one that is full of poignancy.  In surrendering to gravity and slipping off the leaf, the drop loses its previous identity and joins the vastness of the water below.

We can imagine that it must have trembled before it fell, just on the edge between the known and unknowable.

To choose this card is a recognition that something is finished, something is completing.  Whatever it is – a job, a relationship, a home you have loved, anything that might have helped you to define who you are – it is time to let go of it, allowing any sadness but not trying to hold on.

Something greater is awaiting you, new dimensions are there to be discovered.  You are past the point of no return now, and gravity is doing its work.

Go with it – it represents liberation.”
