Instrumental and Basic

As I was listening to one of my guided meditation CDs earlier, it again struck how very  much I enjoy them.  As a resource, they really can’t be beat.  For value, for effectiveness, and basically for all ’round satisfaction.

Not surprising then, that the message I’ve been hearing for days encapsulates this exact thought.

Tools and support.

What do we need when we are IN need?  Who do we turn to when we are seeking help?  At times, our challenges are solo endeavors.  We must figure shit out on our own.  Not always fun, but true.

That’s when we look around and say, ‘what tool do I need for this job?’  Often, we are our own support system.  However, we can also be a resource for others.  And they, for us.  Today, it’s all about what works.

Use what’s available.  And if we don’t have something that can be quickly utilized, at that point it’s time to call for help.  Bottom line, do what has to be done, with what we have.  In the best way possible.

Or so I was told.  Because then,  I was guided away from our card altar, and directed to yet another offer of aid.

oracle cards, gentle gardener,

“Gentle Gardener  ~  2  ~

Be your own person.  Be a conscious co-creator.

The Gentle Gardener is visiting you at this moment in your life to remind you that your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs create the reality you experience.  She is the embodiment of the energy within you that is sent out into the field of co-creation and ensures that all that you are is reflected in the world of form.

Are you aware of your thoughts?  What is their quality?

Believe in limitless possibility and you will see miracles unfold.  The Gentle Gardener guarantees the integrity of everything you send out into the world.

Stay positive and expect a wondrous return.  Your garden is abundant with beauty.”

This one flipped over MOSTLY direct, but there is a feeling here about wanting to show both sides.  So I am.

Do you harbor resentments?  How often do you reinforce negativity by affirming lack and limitation?  Every time you send out a desire for something but secretly harbor a belief that you are undeserving of it, you plant weeds in the field of your dreams.

When the Gentle Gardener appears in the reversed position, she reminds you to be aware of any negative thoughts or selfish motives.  She encourages you to step back and pay close attention to what thought-seeds you send out into the world.  Weeds choke the life out of your beautiful garden.

No need to fret, however, because once you recognize this, you can always remove a bad seed and replace it with a healthy one!  Forgiveness is your most powerful restorative tool.”

The Enchanted Map Oracle Cards by Colette Baron Reid

FLP Report:

is from the past few days, beginning with the Wyoming plate that Dan and I spotted just hours ago.   Also, Iowa (times 2), Florida, Arkansas, Minnesota, WisconsinMissouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, and a new New Mexico.

Simply Miraculous.

Before this post goes up I’ll have changed the color and header photo.  Don’t be shocked, you WERE forewarned.  (Several times.)  I was just really done with that shade, and even though I kept fiddling with it, I couldn’t capture the happiness it originally brought me.  My hope is that I’ve found a new form of joy by the time this is in front of you guys.

That original idea I had for a picture is NOT what you’re seeing right now.  I couldn’t make that work.  I’m gonna need Dan’s help, and advice.  But while I trudged today (for some reason, five miles felt like 55) I thought of another lovely image.  Wanna know WHY I thought of this one?  Because my feet were not covered in band aids, that’s why.

Not the problem.

A few weeks ago  a lovely friend (who cares about my health and well-being) e-mailed me with a suggestion.  Her own feet have been problematic at times, so she thought that what she’d found to be helpful, might also help mine.  She was right.  They did help.  All that time we stressed over the shoes, when really, the solution was the socks.  These socks.  To be exact.

I had a bit of a false start, so I immediately contacted the company (because ya know, I’m a pest like that).  I got an amazingly fast and thoughtful response.  Tom was wonderful!  And we figured out the first problem.  My second problem (the shoes “eat” my socks) seems to have worked its ownself out now.  There will still be new shoes in my future (as soon as we can afford them) but for now, I’ve been made blissfully happy by the current solution of better socks.

My neighbors, on the other hand, are not all living in bliss.  Or, at least, their trees aren’t.  Many people are STILL dealing with the storm damage caused by that late snow fall.  The rocket scientist next door has spent several days in his front yard.  On a small stool.  In front of the stump which used to be a tree.  With a chainsaw pointed down into the hole!  It is simply frightening in the extreme.

Remember this disaster site?  Yeah, it’s tidier now, but no less painful to gaze upon.  There are more than one of these views on my Route.

Mostly everyone, like these folks, have it all stacked or mulched or run through the chipper by now.  I feel bad for them, but I like seeing how nice and efficient the clean-up is going.  (With the obvious exception being You Know Who right next door.)

Our message today is the perfect next step for us too, it’s so validating in regards to what we’ve been getting lately.

“The Fire Prince  ~  optimism, aggression.

When the Fire Prince arrives as your Ally, he lets you know that he represents the invisible forces behind all manner of manifestation, and he brings you the gift of optimism.  You will be rightly inspired to move forward and take confident and assertive action to reach your goal.

Envisioning the path of the highest good with an optimistic outlook, the Fire Prince also brings you the gift of a miracle.  Things come together as if by magic to create the reality you seek.

You have every reason to be hopeful.  Move forward, knowing that you have everything you need and more.  Just remember to share the enthusiasm, believe in others, and be optimistic for them, too, and your good fortune will multiply.”

Even though this one was absolutely in the direct position when I flipped it, as with another one recently, I’m being advised that we need to see both sides.

“There are a couple of messages delivered by the Fire Prince, so take heed as one or both could pertain to you now.  Be mindful of starting a fire you can’t put out.  Aggressive action results in loss; slow down and don’t be so eager to reach your goal.  Stay clear of someone else’s unbridled ambition and aggression as well.  If you think you could get burned, you most certainly will – unless you remove yourself from the action.

When the Fire Prince arrives as a Challenger, he could also be warning you to be careful of burnout.  This might pertain to workaholism or obsessively focusing on something you want, excluding all else.  You may be afraid to let go, but you must.  If you keep going they way you are, truly you won’t have any energy left, nor will you see your way through your path.  It is easy to get lost in the dark where there is no flame to light the way.”

Okay, now we’ve seen the options and choices.  This will definitely be the right card for us all, on many different levels.

Wisdom Of The Hidden Realms Oracle Cards by Colette Baron-Reid

Selective PSAs, Parental Roller-coaster, and Deep Meanings.

First, let me just thank everyone for playing along yesterday, that was outstanding, and I love how we are all so diverse, love it.

I do this as much for myself as for you guys, so here goes with today’s announcements.  Remember how I said that I write shit down on any- and everything I can find?  Well here is a nice example, it’s also an example of how my blog, and blog-hopping, has taken over my life (right, OCD much?  I know I know).

So this is what the note means:

Sarah (Sure Thing) has a post up that she’d like some feed-back on, so go there and give her your opinions.

Delia had a vote on her blog but I think we missed it, you should go check, maybe give her your thoughts anyway.

Kate recently posted the start of her new novel, which is very fun, and she’d like a bit of feed-back as well.

And over there, cast your eyes to the right, we have still more additions to the Important Things blog roll.  Why yes, it is now officially cumbersome and tilting my entire site off its foundation.  Worry not though, My Hurricane will be in town next week, and all will be well.  In fact, this is one of my other announcements, an up-grade is in the works.  You already know how I feel about change, so I am preparing my wee self elf for the new look.  It’s coming, whether I like it or not.  (If you would like to be included in this listing, and/or the new one later, let me know.)

I will begin this next portion of tonight’s events with a disclaimer, I was young when I first gave birth, and I believed what people told me.  I wanted to name my son (after TEN months of being pregnant, no I am not joking) a name that wasn’t actually a name: J.D.  But the official woman in the hospital, who was older, and stood more firmly than I did, said that was illegal, I now know it was not.  She said the initials had to stand for something.  She was wrong, I could have done it my way, but I was in pain, had a huge and fresh surgery scar, and I had an equally huge baby to deal with, and I just wanted to go home and start being a mom.  So I assigned some words to the initials, and then never looked back.  Never called him anything but J.D.  (okay, that’s not true, I call him Jade, and I call him Petunia, and for a long while there, before he had sisters, and sometimes to this very day, we call him J.D. Boy).   There’s a reason I tell you all this.     He won the Academic Award today for his entire graduating patrol class.  (As he told me last night,” that’s right, the guy who never studied got the highest test scores.”)

If any of you can read that plaque, do not, I repeat, DO NOT say it out loud, or anywhere near me.  I will not acknowledge it.  (His middle name is Daniel, that doesn’t bother me as much, for obvious reasons.)  I am HUGELY proud of this kid.  All those months of toting him around (in the womb and years beyond that) were totally worth it.  And because he was the perfect baby, he has sisters, who I am also HUGELY proud of.

And guess what else?  Fictional Friend Whitney (last discussed here on the Pictures of State Fair Day post) is really a person.  And a lovely person too!

Foreign plates du jour:  Ohio and Colorado.

For our card draw, we have returned to Colette’s Hidden Realm.  And before anyone says anything, yeah, he’s a bit odd, but let’s concentrate on the message today, shall we?

“The Ringmaster of Scrutiny ~ discernment, clear vision, details.

The Ringmaster of Scrutiny is all about the details.  Look closely and pay attention to the smallest elements of what is being presented to you on your path.  It is in these details, not the broad strokes, that you will find the breathtaking beauty  and perfection in what you observe.

This Ally is on your side to point to the deeper meanings of what unfolds in your life, and reminds you that every moment counts.  Staying present in this perfect moment, observing the minute things, leads you to manifest your highest good and greatest desires.  Grand gestures are for other times.  It is the smallest acts that really count now.”
