Current Consideration

As we near the end of another calendar year (which is really just an arbitrary grab of made-up time), the reviews and countdowns and resolutions begin showing up.  I’ve mentioned before how much I dislike these forced traditions.

They seem to be created for failure.  Now, if we were encouraged to seek out our most accomplished quiet moments, well.  Maybe I’d be more on board.

But as it stands, I’m not a fan.  And what I heard upon entering my meditation space earlier seems to be in agreement.

Not before or after.

This is similar to our recent message of The Here And Now.  It’s about being in the present.  It’s about Being.  Truly and simply.  To the best of our ability.

past lives

I’m showing you this draw here because it is so incredibly validating, we need to talk about it as we go along.

“The Knight of Rainbows  ~  Slowing Down  ~  Mastery of the Physical

The Knight of Rainbows is a reminder that, just like this tortoise, we carry our homes with us wherever we go.  There is no need to hurry, no need to seek shelter elsewhere.

Even as we move into the depths of the emotional waters, we can remain self-contained and free from attachments.

It is a time when you are ready to let go of any expectations you have had about yourself or other people, and to take responsibility for any illusions you might have been carrying.

There is no need to do anything but rest in the fullness of who you are right now…..”

Who we are right now.  Not only do we need to be here in the Now, but we need do nothing more than be ourselves.

“Past Lives  ~  XVIII  ~  Major Arcana  (reversed)

The two rainbow lizards on either side represent knowing and not-knowing.  They are the guardians of the unconscious, making sure that we are prepared for a vision that might otherwise be shattering.

A glimpse into the eternity of our existence is a gift, and understanding the function of karma in our lives is not something that can be grasped at will.

This is a wake-up call; the events in your life are trying to show you a pattern as ancient as the journey of your own soul.”

A wake-up call.  In which we’ve heard the alarm go off, but we keep banging the Snooze button.  We know where we’re supposed to be going, we just can’t afford the gas to get there.

We will though.  Eventually we’ll have what we need.  As long as we remember to stay present.  Not crying over the past, not reaching for the future.

Here.  Now.  Not before, not after.  Just us, being ourselves.  Right here.  Right now.

Today’s Milestone:

was really yesterday.  Eight years, in this spot, my little corner of the internet.  Blogging, visiting, writing, channeling, sharing.

It feels like less and it feels like more, but somehow, it doesn’t feel like 8.

Exacting Great Care

Even if we were to sit perfectly still, calm and serene, at peace, time would continue to tick on.  Seconds, minutes, hours, days.

And if we struggle, stress, suffer, time also ticks on.  Seconds, minutes, hours, days.  And then, weeks into months and years.

Clearly, part of our message is about HOW we spend those moments.

Right here,

Mindfully, with great thought, we are able to be in our time, not merely spend it.  While simultaneously, seeing what is ahead and honoring what has gone by.

But also, we are being reminded that time just is.  It moves, it goes, it ticks along.  If we waste* it, it’s gone anyway.

*And by “wasting” I don’t mean that we’ve been reading a good book or watching the sun set, I mean by spending more hours at work than with family.  Or by spending precious moments in complaint or rage, when we could easily have used those hours to express our joy and care.

Taking “time” to find blessings and gifts and a positive focus, can help our lessons, our healing, and every step of our journey.

On the card altar, where I was directed for this draw, is another way to utilize our valuable seconds, minutes, hours.

heart and soul messages

“Bliss  ~

We cannot find total bliss in this world, but we can preview it, and even, at times, feel overwhelmed with joy.

This can be accomplished by accepting the universal truth that the origin of All is Love.”

             To which I would add:

when we express our pleasure instead of our disdain, we are more likely to share happiness.  It’s worth our time to try.
