That Alternative Angle

When I walked in to my (still not fully unpacked, nor completely finished) office tonight I was directed immediately to one of our most dynamic (and controversial) sets.  Every time I get this kind of strong pull, I know it’s an extremely important message.

This, as we say, was a sign.  So, let’s listen to it, be grateful, intentional, and enjoy the gift.

Some cards are better off reversed.  The upside-down aspect helps us to see both sides of the what the Universe wants us to focus on.  This is one of those examples.

“7 of Fire  ~  Stress

The quality of stress represented by this image visits all of us at times, but perfectionists are particularly vulnerable to it.

We create it ourselves, with the idea that without us nothing will happen . . . . especially in the way we want it to.

Well, we are asked, what makes us so special?  Do we think the sun won’t rise in the morning unless we personally set the alarm?

We are being directed to go for a walk, buy a small present, fix ourselves a nice meal – anything ‘unimportant’ will do.  Just to put ourselves out of the reach of Stress.”

I love that this came up as contrary.  It means that we have already begun our “turn” in the proper direction.  We’ve already seen how small things make a big difference.  We have taken the steps needed for learning this lesson.

Also, I am truly appreciative of the reminder about “unimportant” bits.  Stopping to see the beauty around us, counting our blessings, noticing the tiny joys in our day-to-day-ness, those are the true important parts of this journey.  Those are the best forms of de-stressing.

When we set down our juggling plates and our burning candles, we realize what little value they actually had.  Because now, our hands are free to do so many more, better, things.

is this additional view from our adventure last week.

When we go to other places, we always look for the museums, the cultural and interpretive centres, the history.

Yes, we stopped to read all of the plaques.  We even brought back a few souvenirs.  (And, of course, books.)

Divine Positioning

This afternoon I carved out a couple of hours to spend time in the company of a like-minded soul.  It was a mundane errand cloaked in joy.  We made our own fun.

He and I know that we’ve wandered other lives together, wearing different bodies, but still the same spirits.  We are planning some more afternoons.

What’s been in my head, even before today, humming loudly, is how we find each other.  How our paths cross at exactly the proper and correct moment.  At that point in both of our lives when we need each other the most.

This is connected to last week’s message, because it’s still focused on Time, but now, it’s also about

the placement.

That old cliche of being in the right place at the right time, or even, the wrong place at the wrong time, is not valid.  We are where we’ve PUT ourselves when we need to be in that place.

Right place, or wrong place.  That’s a construct not known on the plane we all come from/return to.  Good time, bad time, same idea.

Is the place or time benefiting to us both, to us all?  Then it’s good, even if, by some standards, it might seem bad.  The trick is to relax in to the plan we made before we put on these bodies; tune in to the blueprint, and allow ourselves to make these soul-connections, the remembered friendships we’ve treasured before.

Another side of this same concept is about letting go of the old, no-longer useful burdens (even if some of them may be relationships).  And, turns out, here’s our validation.

Give and Take, and Keep Giving

You know the saying about sticking with a day job?  Well, even my day job is at night.  On a recent evening, during my daytime night work, I was fortunate enough to spend time with two women who became instant friends.

They didn’t know each other (nor me, really) prior to this visit.  But, by the end, we had laughed and cried and shared and bonded.

Both of them, like me, have suffered enormous losses in their lives.  Also, in a similar way to my own, they have seen beautiful blessings, witnessed history, and learned from these events.

I’m dedicating this post to Carla and Barbara, because not only is genuine sharing important, but clear and honest communication is vital to our future, and the future of our entire planet.

In Partnership

We simply do not know who or what may cross our path at any given point.  Isn’t it best then, to just be prepared with a smile and kind word?

Treating others as we would like to be treated is so basic, and yet, it is often forgotten or neglected.  I believe it’s time (past time!) to bring it back.

Let’s go forward together, and not apart.

On our card altar, in a most delightful validation, we have a messenger who reminds us that we are always the teacher AND the student, never only one, but without fail, both simultaneously.

The Hierophant  ~  5

(not fully rightside-up)

Setting aside the church trappings, this draw (in reversed position) is more about living and learning than it is hierarchy.

We know that to live with Mercy and Goodness is to be balanced.  It’s not being a doormat, but being powerful in our Graciousness.

As we learn we grow, as we teach we grow.  As we communicate with others, we grow.  We take our lessons and we share them, as they are shared with us.

Remember, the number 5 is focused on our humanity.  On our flawed human-ness.  Will we always get our homework in on time and pull straight As?  Of course not.

But will we do our best and try hard and play nice?  Yep, we’ll sure aim for it, and we’ll forgive ourselves as we forgive others who may stumble and need a helping hand.

We are part of a community, we are here in partnership with those around us.  We teach, we learn, we communicate.

Here’s to a brand new year of RELEASE and letting go.  (And, ya know, whatever our lessons may be.)

Dynamic Improvements

Not everyone knows this about me, but I’m kind of an earthquake nerd (or wonk, if that’s a term you like better).  Science isn’t my favorite subject, tectonic plates, however, definitely rank right up there near the tippy top. (Subduction zones!)

I adore all things volcanic, lava, and mantle related.   Which brings us to our message.  There is a power under the earth’s stable layer, just as there is a power within each of us.

Both are connected to the intensity of our universe, the very aliveness of our planet.  As are we, her children here.

People talk about how they have a lot* of “energy’ or they are feeling “low energy” on down days.  What we forget is that the true energetic focus is never NOT there for us to draw from.  We can ALWAYS ask for, and get, more.

*And by this, I’m not talking about the drug-induced/caffeine-current faux jump-starting.

We are absolutely, consistently, and without end, able to absorb that limitless Energy, refueling from a bountiful source.  Regardless of your belief system, there are numerous ways of avoiding that running on empty (false) concept.

At our card altar right now is the perfect example, it was something I completely did not understand, and spent a lot (A LOT!) of time fighting against.  When we think we need more, we honestly can do with less.

To gain Energy, and live in our Power, we simply open our hands and hearts, and Release.  The void is immediately filled with exactly what our soul is calling for.  Whether we know it consciously, or not.

“Letting Go  ~

‘I surrender joyously to the ebbing and flowing of life.’

Card meaning:

Surrender.  Relinquish control and allow Spirit to take over.  You don’t need to do everything by yourself.

All is well.  It’s time to just let it all go and enjoy the ride!  Doing so gives others permission to let go in their own lives.

The Universe wants you to know:

There are times to hold on for dear life, and times to simply throw your hands up and let go.  It’s time to release any limiting patterns, emotional attachments, or inner and outer clutter.

Surrendering doesn’t mean that you are yielding to a force outside of yourself.  It means that you’re allowing your soul to take over.

Release the stress of needing to control things, wanting to determine the outcome of a situation, or expecting others to act in a certain way.  Thre is a simple grace and beauty that unfolds when you truly let go.

Loving spiritual help is all around you … simply open your heart and let it in.

Questions to ask yourself:

Is there anything I need to release?  Is there a person or situation I need to let go of?  Is there anyone who needs to let go of me?

I surrender joyously to the ebbing and flowing of life.”

Today’s Reminder:

is about how we can’t give up just before our miracle arrives.  I promise you, we ALL have miracles, right around the corner.  If you aren’t sure about yours, e-mail me, and we can discuss it.

Properly Executed

We’ve spoken here before about the interconnectedness of the Universe.  And how we all rely, one upon the other.  Today’s message is along that similar theme.  But from a different angle.

All of our actions have consequences.  All the steps we take (or the steps we don’t) have meaning and repercussions.  All of us touch another, we reach out and connect.  Our experiences overlapping.

Here’s where we are being asked to focus, where we are being asked to aim our intentions right now.

Commit To It

We all constitute a portion of the whole; we are all part of this world (whether we enjoy every second or not).  The key is to hold on to our individuality while still being involved.

When we state with full and hearty confidence that YES, we’d like this or that, then we’ve committed to something/someone.  When we do the same with our journey, we are telling Life that, hey, I’m on board here!

Even when we don’t make a choice, that’s also a type of commitment.  We’ve stuck with the indecisiveness of doing nothing.

For this moment, we are being directed to follow through.  To stand strong, and be honest.  Commit.  Grab a basket, and put all of our eggs in to it.

Because when we turn energy towards a clear and conscious selection, we spread that feeling outward, in ever-increasing ripples.  Those waves of passion move beyond us, to our loved ones and the people who cross their paths, and then it spirals even farther beyond.

To be  part of the whole, to opt for the strong choices, that’s what will help us all the most.  And that, then, helps everyone.

Even our card altar draw speaks of allowing what no longer serves to drop off, so that we may be fulfilled with what suits us better, now, at this time.

Time to Move On  ~

‘It’s time to let go of the old and worn our so that the new can come in.’

By drawing this card, you are alerted to the fact that you need to make room for the new by letting go of the old.  First, let go emotionally and intellectually.  In other words, ‘quit’ or ‘say good-bye’ in your mind and heart.

Once you do this, the physical letting-go will happen naturally, in a peaceful and harmonious way.

Ask Heaven to help you make the transition, and don’t plan, scheme, or worry about how your letting-go (or replacement) will occur.  Put all of your energy into prayer and faith, and leave the rest up to Infinite Spirit.

You will get definite guidance whenever it is the right moment to take action.  Until then, stay lovingly detached from your old situation.
