Stealth Style

There’s a saying in the Christian mythos about “mysterious ways” in which the Universe works.  From my standpoint, as a practicing pagan, I have to partially agree.

Often it feels as if life is happening TO US, instead of us living our life.  There seems to be only so much we can do about that.  Some of these decisions and situations we certainly sat down and mapped out.

Others?  Well, those we look to Destiny, and the free will of all who are involved as the answer (and the blame).

Our message right now, and where our focus has to be, is as close to a cliché as I can tolerate.  Problem is, it’s true, and important.

Disguised Blessings

Possibly where we are and who we’re talking to is really the most perfect solution.  The future is malleable.

The future is also our current reality when we arrive there.  Just as this moment now, is our truth.  Soon, today will be behind us.

Let’s make each second count.  Let’s recognize those blessings and mysterious turns as the gifts that they are.  As we appreciate where we’ve been, honoring the place we sit now, while resting our eyes every so gently on where we may go next.

The validation for this one is perfection.  (Again with the old adages, but ya know, maybe that, too, is part of our lesson.)

“Slow and Steady  ~  12

‘Slow and steady wins the race.’

This is the time for easy movement, unhurried steps, and a steady heart.

Trust that taking life at a more leisurely pace will give you greater access to your dreams.

Slowing down allows more contact with the juicier elements of your life.  Savor them.”

has no pictures.  But I’m sure you can imagine a towering stack of boxes in every room of a tiny house, some empty now, some still packed full, and a few with contents spilling out.

That’s our current condition.  Definite progress, but, as the card says, it’s slow.

Kindred

Yesterday I spent a significant amount of my day with an 8-year-old. She is not related to me by genetics, but her parents and siblings have become like family.

Again the Universe is telling us it’s time to revisit the conversation around that concept of: it takes a village.  And how without support, well.  Everything is just that much more challenging.

             Here’s what I’m hearing ……

tribe

Who makes up our closest, our near-and-dear, our most loved individuals?  Whoever they are, they’re never all related to us by blood, by DNA.

Often, our core group is a gathering of like-minded souls, with some genuine relatives mixed in.  It matters not one bit what this ratio of the blend is, nor really, what the numbers even are.

The important and valuable part?  That we take care of our clan, that we hold them close and back them up.  That we love them, unconditionally, and we are there to support them.

Because we know, they’ll be there for us.  One of the best ways to make sure we’re recharged and can help family when called upon is to take care of ourselves.

On what is taking the place of my card altar right now (see phone pic below), we are being validated in that very sentiment.  We MUST practice Self Care, and then, we can be of use to those we love.

Most of the cards, but (almost) none of the treasures.

For the first time in the five weeks since we’ve been handed the keys to this place, I got to be in the house, and get shit done.  It’s been nice.  And soon, I’m sure, it will (finally) feel like home.

(Camera battery recharging cord, still lost.  The replacement device my Beloved ordered for me seems to not be working.)

Advance and Process

I’m sitting at a make-shift desk, in the house where we now live.  My Empress occupies our formal adobe. It’s been slow, and difficult.  But ….. I’m sitting at a make-shift desk.  In the house.  Where we now live.

Let’s call that progress, shall we?  Because, what I’ve been hearing about, and what I’m learning so clearly right now, is that we must be thankful, we must notice the gifts.  We absolutely must

stay flexible.

Nothing around here is done.  Nothing at the other house is done, either.  Two families are half-in, half-out of old and new situations.  But for this moment in time, none of us is homeLESS.  We are dry in the rain and warm in the cold.  (Hopefully, we’ll also be cool in the heat, too.)

Things change.  That’s the way our journey goes.  It’s the very WAY this life is.  When we get too caught up in staying the same, we lose out on what might come along for us.

It’s been challenging, this move, this tiny bit of progress.  But it’s also been kinda fun.  And that’s what we all could focus more on.  The fun.  The joy.  The little steps of advancement.

Behind me, sitting atop (what is now taking the place of) our altar, is a great validation.  We have to take the time to see the nice vantage points.   Stop along the route and enjoy pleasant surroundings.

The travel is part of this adventure!  We are constantly in motion, let’s notice and appreciate where it takes us.

Six of Swords

This is one of the VisionQuest cards.  The journey, the lesson, the movement is what we focus on here.

But also, take note of where this individual is headed.  See the tiny star in that hillside?

The goal is to find our shining future, and aim for it; enjoy the scenery, and get to our destination when we get there.  It’ll be well worth the time spent.  Because truthfully, we have plenty of time to spend.
