On The Plus Side

Living with Intention is the goal.  Being Purposeful, that’s where we want to be.  Walking in LovingKindness, our aim.  Honestly?  We know how challenging this all is.

However, we KEEP trying.  We begin every day, fresh, ready to attempt it somemore.  We live perpetually in Hope.

This week we are celebrating some family birthdays, and a family visit.  I am focusing on what a wonderful opportunity this is, I am not going to worry or stress or panic.  (See how I’m telling you all this?  I’m doing it INTENTIONALLY.)

The reason, the message, right now is that we are surrounded by garbage humans disguised as leaders and people of power, we are dealing with tragedies (foreign, domestic, personal), we are facing so many scary and shitty things that we MUST aim towards Light, and Love, and Positive.  We truly must.  It’s the only way to survive and to help.

Here’s what the Universe wants us to hear:

Rise Above

We are being instructed to Choose Joy, to face the fears and keep moving forward.  Count our blessings, not our troubles.

Even if it is simply a few moments alone with deep breathing.  So long as we are putting our Positives out there, we are making a difference. Be enraged about injustice, yes.  But also, sit in a Zen and Calm place, sending out Hope, be one of many who shares LovingKindness.

Our (still incomplete) card altar brings the most perfect validation.  (And when my camera malfunctioned [again], I didn’t fall apart, I just kept going, I used something else, and I made it work.)

“Angel of Pleasure

Take Pleasure in the things you do.

The message for you today is to start to take pleasure in all the things you do.

It’s not all about hard work, achievement, and performance.  What is important is that you make the most of every moment in your life.

Start to do more things that bring you pleasure and that bring pleasure to those you love, work, study, and play with.

Try it.  You may be surprised to find that when things become pleasurable, you accomplish more, with less stress and effort.”

Today’s Sharing:

is continuation of/original channeled whisper, in photo form, from my Instagram account.

We took the baby on some errands, it was delightful.  But then, so is she.

Right to choose.

Cast your minds back.  Back, back, back . . . .  “Expect the unexpected” our card told us.  Right.  Well, then.  That happened.  (No one died, I promise.)

I repeated the phrase, “accept what is” repeatedly.  (No, not excessively.)  And it might be helping.   I’ll keep you posted.

This will be a day of no channeled suggestions or messages to share.  There is nothing else for me to add right now, except our daily draw.

oracle cards, self-care, independence

“Independence  ~

Decide for yourself.

Exercise your right to choose.”

Everything about this is perfect.  And to the point.  We all have that right.  So let’s use it.

Today’s (from yesterday) Affirmation:

I lovingly accept what is.

Superquick.

This is being pre-written, and it will auto-post while I’m gone.  Wanna know why?  Cuz it’s Family Fair Day!  (Minus one, but I’ve texted with her, and we’re planning next year’s event already, so I’m hopeful on that front.)

The fancy-pants phone’s alarm worked well for an early (that’s right, BEFORE noon) wake-up call.  (Even though I can’t find the “alarm only” volume setting.  Dan showed me, but I’m not sure I believe him yet.)  So here I am, being all efficient and shit.

Together harmoniously/

teamwork.

That’s what I woke up with.  Which made me laugh, because the four of us will be in a car together for over two hours.  And wandering the exhibits the entire day.  Thanks, Universe.

Back within our regular rotation, I was directed to go with just one of these.  And look, kind of validating, it turns out.

“Change  ~  X  ~  Major Arcana

Life repeats itself mindlessly, unless you become mindful……

The symbol in this card is an enormous wheel representing time, fate, karma.  Galaxies spin around this constantly moving circle, and the twelve signs of the zodiac appear on its circumference.  Just inside the circumference are the eight trigrams of the I Ching, and even closer to the center are the four directions, each illuminated by the energy of lightning.

The spinning triangle is at this moment pointed upward, toward the divine, and the Chinese symbol of yin and yang, male and female, creative and receptive, lies at the center.

It has often been said that the only unchanging thing in the world is change itself.  Life is continuously changing, evolving, dying and being reborn.  All opposites play a part in this vast circular patter.

If you cling to the edge of the wheel you can get dizzy.  Move toward the center of the cyclone, knowing that this too will pass.”

Today’s Reminder:

is also for me, because I keep seeing the note I wrote on the day we drew that card.  Has everyone been practicing their Golden Path meditation?  Because this illustration would be ideal for a starting point, or a destination.

Happyfastgood.

Ooooo, time got past me.   We were out with my son and parents, and then the weekly food gathering had to happen.  Consequently, we’ll be rushing tonight.

And combining all photos into a slide show.  (It seemed the quickest way.) Our channeled message is kind of long, but worthwhile, and a great reminder.

Taking time off/giving ourselves a break/vacation is an important and valuable part of our learning process.

I felt directed to leave the rotation on our card altar, and it worked out nicely, there’s not a lot to type.  Additionally, these two combine nicely.

“Appreciating Success  ~

Sometimes we fear the word success because we believe that too much is expected of us.  If we view success as something we do for ourselves, the fear vanishes and we can appreciate what we’ve accomplished.”

are the additional pictures you see with our daily draw.  My son gave me the most amazing Mother’s Day present!  Because is wasn’t ACTUALLY still that time of year, those particular (seasonal) selections were no longer available, so he chose the business option.  SUPER terrific!

Today’s Mileage:

8.625 miles in 53 minutes 35 seconds, with an average speed of 9.6 MPH, just downtown and back, nothing extra because of the above-mentioned partial family gathering.

Enjoying Every Moment.

We were up and out and it was lovely.  Went several places, saw lots of things, enjoyed some fun snacks, and most importantly, Dan and I spent time* with our kids.  Also, some Mother’s Day shopping occurred.

*Okay, technically, in the daylight, we only saw two-thirds of them.  But by the clock, I got to see all three in one day.

glass canisters

Canisters. Made of glass. Perfectly plain.

I’ve been on the look-out for some really big, über simple, not-plastic jars for my baking supplies.  Hanna gave me the gift of two.  I am beyond thrilled.

Before we left the house though, I woke up with our channeled message coming in loud and clear:

embrace; accept and appreciate.

The definition of this that came to me, as I was standing at the sliding glass door, not seeing any deer*, was about really grasping the NOW, and seeing these present moments as special, unto themselves.  Accepting that our journey is not always a smooth and even road.

*Because they were on the other side of the fence, Dan pointed them out when I came upstairs.

It felt as though the Universe was saying, “here you are, and isn’t it grand?!”

On our card altar we have a messenger who brings  a recommendation that is near and dear to my heart.

oracle cards

“The Wise Woman of Wonderland  ~  21  ~

integrity, compromise

The Wise Woman of Wonderland brings integrity to thought, word, and deed.  She let’s you know that as long as you are in the flow of honesty and being true to your word, she keeps you under her protection and care.

When she appears as your Ally, she signals a time when  honesty pays off, yielding greater dividends than you expected.  You’ll be thankful that you remained faithful and loyal to your path.  She reminds you that compromise isn’t always an option.

Stay true to yourself first and foremost.  Although it may appear that you could lose something as a result, you can never lose what is truly yours.”

Additionally, when we put the numbers together, they add down to 3 – which we already know can represent the Sacred Trinity, in whatever guise that appears to you.

Hunter, and friend.

We were all out in the front yard.  I was weaving my honeysuckles (pictures soon, they are doing SO damn well, and smell SO damn good), then (finally!) finishing up with the fairy path weeding.  She was having a snack and the deputy was celebrating a bonus day off. (He also helped me with the weeds.)

Last Night’s Kitchen Adventures:

included getting that batch of biscuits baked (minutes before my girl showed up), along with frosting the dog treats.

Puppy Cakes!

Puppy Cakes!

As I mentioned before, this package was part of prize basket.  We were curious about what was in them, and what made them dog-friendly.  But there was no way in hell that *I* was going to taste the bastards.

Look at her face. Click this image to make it bigger, then zoom in.

Not satisfied to simply read the box and let it go at that, Han sampled the frosting.  I asked her how it was.  She expressed the reaction pretty clearly and visibly.   Then I asked her to describe the taste (because this is what ingredients were listed: unflavored yogurt powder).  She said,

if a ghost ate yogurt, then had gas.  Like that.”
