We recently discovered a fascinating series produced by the BBC.  Each episode features a “genius” and they tell that person’s story.  Clearly, and with historic accuracy.  Which is fun.

What is less entertaining is how so many of our great thinkers have also suffered, been misinterpreted, and never lived to see their work recognized.  I know there’s a plan, but it sometimes makes me sad.

Like how I can’t always enjoy sporting events because I don’t want any side to lose.  I wish every player and fan could come out a winner.  Is it so much to ask that we all live happily ever after?

Apparently, that’s not what we’re here for.  Which, as I said, I know.  But the knowing doesn’t much alleviate the struggle, some days.

Directly from the Universe, to me and you, here’s where to turn:

rise above.

My mother, and niece, and I are what people call “women of strong faith” even though none of us are remotely religious.  We believe, we know, we entirely feel in a spiritual way.  So, when challenges arise, roadblocks appear, we seek answers.

My own recent medical and work situation has caused me to really search for meaning.  It’s been difficult.  Daily.

Which makes this message so much more meaningful, on a personal level, but also on a global one.  We are being instructed to find our detours.  Go around, move past, let go, and yes….. rise above.

To do this, we have to focus.  Then, we have to walk away.  We can’t spend time suffering or whining, or screaming at problems.  Because in truth, there are no problems.  Merely lessons that we haven’t quite figured out.  Yet.

Here’s an old Doreen affirmation that I feel will help us:

My heart, my mind, my life, and everyone in it are perfectly at peace right now.

no such thing as problems

To rise, and go above

The Light of Assurance

We’ve discussed before how our charts work.  And that we’ve all set up a sort of blueprint of what this life will be about; the  basic way we will be living it.

One of the most challenging and yet vastly important, aspects of this system is for us to have faith in the processes we initially created for ourselves.

Here’s what I woke up with, feel free to sing along.

Over the Rainbow

Because of our physical limitations, we don’t know what’s around that next corner, what’s on the other side of that door.  We can only hopeandprayandbelieve that our planning results in what’s best for everyone concerned.

Even when we catch a glimpse of, or have a fleeting dream about, what some folks call Heaven, we still have to come back here and keep going forward.  Keep showing up for work.  Keep trying to pay the bills.

It can make it difficult to recall our blueprint, and the fact that yes, everything really WILL be okay.  The truth is, if we merely look up, we can see that Rainbow after a downpour.  There’s that promise.  There’s that validation.

It’s also a sign of Hope.  A recharge to get us through the next stress-inducing real-life battle.  We’ll all go Home, we’ll be over the rainbow.  When it’s time to go, we will go.

For now, we take a tiny bit of that arc of colors and we hold it close.  We tuck it next to our heart.  Because when the clouds move in again (they always do) we’ll have our Rainbow.  No matter what the weather brings us.

On our card altar right now, the Universe has brought us the prize at the rainbow’s end.

physically grounding, abstract ideas and inspirations

Several wonderful ideas and inspirations are filtering through into your physical reality.  These ideas and inspirations, which stem from your soul will help you manifest many of the things your heart has, for so long, desired.

Over the coming days your intuition will be strong and you will have a greater sense of the universal spirit that flows through all things.

Through this, a new found sense of joy and wonder emerges, one which transforms your life.  Give thanks for this blessing and allow it to inspire and illuminate you heart and mind.

Your ideas and inspirations are divinely guided, so trust them!”

Capably So

Yesterday, before I begin a week of training for my new holiday/temporary employment, we went to my happy place.  Otherwise known as: the beach.

I am incredibly empowered by the shore.  Where the land meets the water, that in-between sacred space of neither one, nor the other.  It’s magical, it’s energetic.  To me, it’s life.

As we were coming home I thought about how much this journey of mine has been shaped by the sea.  It’s clearly something I cannot live without.  And as I get older (learning more along the way), I know that I don’t have to.

Here’s what I heard, as I pondered how very much each trip to the coast impacts me, on a soul-deep level:

find your strength.

I’ve located mine.  It’s about an hour west of here.  Someday, I promise, someday it will be out my back door, or a few steps down the road.  Someday, I will live so close that we can hear it from our porch.

For now though, I’m (almost) satisfied by making these occasional visits, and bringing that strength home with me.  In mental images, in memories, in phone photos, and in my dreaming mind.

This isn’t a new discovery for me, and yet in some ways it’s a fucking epiphany.  I’d bet real cash money that you know what yours is, too.   But maybe never realized it?

What moves your heart?  What powers your spirit?  What is it that gives you strength and energy?

Find it.  Aim at it.  Bring it home with you.  Hold it close.  Treasure it like the gift that it is.

On our card altar right now is an excellent reminder and validation.  Do we gain power from our Faith?  Is there strength in the knowledge that we are beloved and blessed and honoured?

Do we feel better holding on to the fact that we are never alone?  Never need to be afraid or lonely?

(LateNight Problem:

yes, WordPress seems to have some sort of issue with clicking on my photos.  Sorry if this is happening to you.  Just e-mail me, I’ll send you your own copy if you want to look at either of them closer.)

Our life’s journey is not one, long, trip.  It’s a series of small jaunts.  And that’s what I saw this morning.  Many bits of movement, in succession.

The Universe says that it’s one after another, after another, after another.  For a (physical) lifetime.

The path changes as we heal and learn and grow and figure shit out.  It’s more about lots of small outings, rather than a huge big-distance haul.  Like miniature road-trips, except that all of them have Home as our eventual destination.  (And we never have to pack or unpack!)

Travel Sets

When we view it this way, we can see our lessons and our wonderful advances so much more clearly.  It also makes a very long journey a wee bit easier to rumble on through.

Personally, I also think that it makes more sense this way.  We’ve all had the experience of feeling as though a chapter of our lives was ending, and a new one just getting started.

Many small journeys, making up our life-long path.  Very manageable, with nice breaks already built-in.

Here’s a great exclamation point, in the form of our daily draw, to validate this message.

“Faith  ~

Faith is a word that should be used in conjunction with the word:

I don’t have to have faith in an omnipotent god-like being.

I just have to know that He and She are in my life and are perfect.”

“Because holidays are about treats…….  #OhWait #iMeantLife”

It’s simply a fact, dinner is never complete until dessert is over (or, at least packed To Go).  THIS will tell all you need to know about what’s in that pastry box.

Free to Toil and Give

Our message today is directly tied to our daily draw.  Both speak of Release, and at the same time being bound (to a concept, an idea, a person, a relationship …..).

Doing the work we’re paid to do.

We are responsible for certain actions, activities, and outcomes, regardless of our careers, positions, or titles.  Sometimes it’s a completely un-paid position, like parenting.  Others could be a well-paid occupation, like high-end health care.  Both are held accountable for a person’s life.

What the Universe is saying is to be the very best whatever you are.  Put all of yourself into it.  Do a good job, whether the pay is decent, excellent, or non-existent.

And then, we come to our card.  We’ve returned to the regular rotation; this messenger appeared.

"The Fool"

The Fool

I, personally, adore The Fool.  When this character arrives, you know that a new journey has begun, or, as our message implies, a new task.

Freedom and Faith are the key words here.  Stepping off into the unknown takes Trust.

“The Fool  ~  0  ~  Major Arcana

Moment to moment, and with every step, the Fool leaves the past behind.  He carries nothing more than his purity, innocence, and trust, symbolized by the white rose in his hand.

The pattern on his waistcoat contains the colors of all four elements of the Tarot, indicating that he is in harmony with all that surrounds him.  His intuition is functioning at its peak.

At this moment the Fool has the support of the universe to make this jump into the unknown.  Adventures await him in the river of life.

The card indicates that if you trust your intuition right now, your feeling of the ‘rightness’ of things, you cannot go wrong.

Your actions may appear ‘foolish’ to others, or even to yourself, if you try to analyze them with the rational mind.  But the ‘zero’ place occupied by the Fool is the numberless number where trust and innocence are the guides, not skepticism and past experience.”

An old calendar page.

An old calendar page.

I look at it every day, it’s less than a foot from my table and chair.   And every day it makes me happy.  Every day I see Hope and Life in it.  Every day I hear the water, see the rainbow, and feel the splash of that tail.
