With a bow on top.

We’ve all had the conversation about our Attitude of Gratitude.  Or, lack thereof.  Prepare yourselves, it’s popped up again this week.

During the winter holidays, and even around someone’s birthday, we hear so much in regards to the “spirit” of giving/the thought that counts, and where those concepts come from.  Discussion is endless, sadly, action is not always the commodity we have enough of.

(It’s just sometimes so easy to fall back into the complaining mode!)

Setting our minds in this direction, the Universe would like us, please, to focus on:

Our very existence is a gift.  Our relationships…. gifts.  Being fortunate enough to own a home, or a car, or a bike.  All gifts.  Having clothes, food, phones, a job: gifts gifts gifts.

When we look with eyes of appreciation, instead of lack (or misguided need), we can truly see how extremely lucky we are.

It’s hot here, I’m miserable (and cranky and über uncomfortable all the time).  The weather is going to get even hotter in the next week.  I am searching for the blessings.  I am also still searching for the shit that got lost in our move.

Right now, the good absolutely outweighs the bad, and I feel so VERY grateful for that.  It’s just, as you well know, challenging!

I was directed to a certain deck for this post.  But, I can’t find it.  Instead, I’ve been poking around in my archived images.  This is what we are supposed to see right now.

Not my photograph, but it captures the feeling which is being channeled through me, to you.  Gratitude.  Gifts.  Love.  See it, see the blessings.   See what we have, not what we’re missing.

             Then, say thank you.

Today’s Resources:

me.  And a view from years ago.

Today’s Sharing:

is to tell everyone that in the past week, guests as well as other staff at my hotel, have been gifting me in such a generous and abundant way; I simply have to cry, because I don’t know how else to react.

I’ve received, an artistically crafted nautilus fossil necklace, a hand-crocheted afghan, a special container of my favorite foreign tea, an Oregon cherry truffle, a beautiful bakery cupcake, and a solid handshake (from a [previously very grumpy] man who told me that it was HIS pleasure to meet me and spend time with me).

I was expecting none of this, it just seems to keep happening.  For all of it, I am humbly grateful.

State of Mind

I wake up to an alarm clock.  Every day.  (Every.  Day.)  It’s necessary, because otherwise, I’d still be sleeping right now.  There is no “I’m done” switch when it comes to rest for me.  Never has been.

After some (several) bashes on the SNOOZE button, I eventually cease being horizontal, if not fully awake, to begin my day.  Usually with some form of our message floating around in my brain.

This morning, what I saw was not something I understood.  But, I sat with it.  And it finally made some sense.

Now, I’m the first to admit that I know nothing about fashion.  Or even vacations, for that matter.  So I’ll just be relaying what I was shown and how it made me feel.

Apparently, if one is on a “getaway” sort of trip, there is luxury involved.  Or, at least, a bit of leisure.  THAT is the attitude we need to recognize and bring forward right now.

The emotion of relaxing and feeling at ease.  Peaceful, under no pressure and with no stress.  Seems fantastical, right?  And yet, we DO know where it’s hiding.  Deep inside.  And we DO know how to retrieve it.

Since most of us can’t jump on a plane this second and go after it, let’s do it from home.  (Or work, whatever.)  Sitting quietly.  For a mere three minutes.  Bringing our awareness to here and now.  To joy.  To lovingkindness.

All it takes to call up that type of “I’m on vacation!” sense is to breathe it into being.  Treating ourselves to a resort experience.  A healing moment.  This place, this sacred space.

Our accompanying daily draw is about pure power, how and why we have it, and how to use it to our best advantage.  And how to utilize it for today’s message.

higher power

“Strength  ~  44

‘Your true strength comes not from self-reliance alone, but from a sincere faith in a higher power.’

The strength to accomplish even the most daunting tasks is yours at this time.  You can connect with and channel the power of the universe.

The Strength card indicates that your ideas are being tested and refined and your relationships are being deepened.  No matter what happens, nothing can move you off the course of evolution.

As the potency of your connections become more obvious, you are able to harness the creative energies that are available to you.

Have courage and dive in, for magic is in the process of finding a form to take.  When you remember that real strength comes from a combination of your efforts and reliance on a higher power working through you, all is possible.

You can do anything now.”

is the continuation of our Mother’s Day (it goes on for a long time around here, one 24 hour cycle isn’t nearly enough for us).

The glass jar is part of my gift. (Way too much shit comes in plastic.)

The glass jar is part of my gift.

This is what I put on Instagram recently.  The tradition of giving me containers of, what is basically truffle filling, began with my sister, more than 20 years ago.  Thanks, Empress, for being the family historian on this one!

Opting In

It will surprise no one to hear what our message is about today.  The Universe isn’t done with our reminders to “choose joy” just yet.

But, this time we’re focusing more on the choice-making.

Mindful Selection

How do we decide which path to take?  How do we make the hard choices?  How do we know when to stay/go, when to stop/start?

It’s about listening and about hearing.  Because we know, in our hearts and souls, which will make us happier.  And THAT is always our best route.

Sure, there are difficult times and rough patches.  Life is like that.  However, we don’t need to aim all of our mind-darts on the worst side of it all.  We end up receiving nothing back but worst-case results.

To truly and simply Choose Joy, the only action we need to make is to slow ourselves down, breathing and breathing.  Then, with full intention, let it be known that we have, in fact, selected the path of peace and joy.

And here, like an additional stamp of approval, on our card altar right now, as we make our way around the regular rotation, this draw couldn’t be more validating.

don't compromise

“Don’t Compromise  ~

St Agnes of Rome

You are asked to take a stand in favor of your truth and self-esteem.  You don’t need to compromise to get what you want, and you can live by the truth of your beliefs.

St Agnes is your guide and role model in this aspect.  She shows that in love relationships – as well as career, home, health, and other life areas – you mustn’t compromise your values.

If you’re in a difficult situation, first try to negotiate a better solution with the people involved.  For instance, if a personal relationship is unsatisfactory, tell your partner your honest feelings.  St Agnes and your angels will help you speak truthfully with love so that the other person can really hear you.

If that method doesn’t yield positive results, this saint may guide you to other resources.  The key with this message, though, is to stand by your truth without compromise.  You deserve to be treated with love, respect, and dignity.

Accept nothing else.”

Today’s Power Statement:

I am open to receiving the good that comes to me each day.

The Feeling is Mutual

One of the interesting phenomenons about us, as people generally, is how we have a sort of “contagious” reactionary mentality.  Our group-mind is vulnerable.  Which is not as bad as it sounds.

It can work in a good way.  When someone gets all complain-y, others near by will chime in, with negativity.  Conversely, if we show tenderness, care, and a positive attitude, THAT will be the repeated pattern.

             Our message from the Universe is of . . . . .

shared compassion.

We are now in charge of change.  Every errand, every meal, every single interaction and exchange can be infused with lovingkindness.  The energy that we create has a healing power.  All we need to do is use it.

At this time of year, especially, it can be more dynamic than ever.  But we have to remember the concept, the second we drop away from that Joy, we’re spreading un-happiness instead.

Returning now, to our regular rotation around the card altar, we have a synchronistic event which must be noted.  This messenger is ascribed the number 39.

Just like our recent Grace draw.  The significance of matching digits cannot be understated.

If we add down 3 + 9, we get 12.  And that’s a Three.  As in our 3-sided LoveJoyPeace intention/mantra.  Significant, like I said, very significant.

grace and transformation massages

“Swan ~ 39 ~ Grace”

I’m being directed to leave the guidebook information off this time, we are all familiar enough with Swan’s story, and that she speaks of transformation.  On many levels.

Reversed, or as a Challenger, she also talks about the Contrary nature of being out of touch.  What we need to make sure of is that our feet are grounded and our focus is true.

As we head out into the world, from this point on, we are changed, transformed.  We are better equipped, we now have the knowledge of Grace and Compassion to share.  We have a new sense of Kindness and Caring.

It’s next to my phone, for perspective.

A beautiful woman who attends my splashy class at the pool gave it to me tonight.  She said that I was a fun and instructive teacher!  (I nearly cried.)
