Staying on Track, and still saying

The changes in my life recently have not been how I expected this chapter to unfold.  Because Life goes where it needs to go.  Taking us to the places we need to be.

Never is it how we thought it would happen.  A turn here, a twist there, a detour we had NO fucking clue was up ahead.  We travel, we experience.  We follow the path, or we veer away from it.

Right now all I keep hearing is how Acceptance and Appreciation must be in our line of sight at all times, it must be where we’re aiming.  We absolutely can’t make the progress which will help us the most if we don’t embrace those factors.

            The Universe says it’s about:

Recognition

To acknowledge our blessings, our lessons, our challenges, that’s where we live in the moment.  That’s where we are ALIVE in a genuine and soulful way.

To recognize our opportunities as well as those options we can just let pass us by, that’s vital.  Never worry that we’ll miss out.  We definitely won’t.  We’re always in the right place at the right time.

In fact, on our card altar, this Special Occasion visitor reminds us why.

“Emu  ~  12  ~  Endurance

First in the Category of Fire

A solar influenced creature, Emu speaks of the responsibility afforded to fathers who find themselves raising their children singlehandedly.  Emu Dreaming lends itself to the teaching of effective parenting skills and the endurance that is required to execute the role, especially under difficult conditions.

. . . . . look at how you are holding up physically and emotionally to the stresses of life.  Perhaps you need to pace yourself better so that you are able to maintain a manageable level of endurance.

Emu promotes a holistic approach to life which incorporates a healthy mind/healthy body philosophy while encouraging you to seize personal quiet time for replenishment whenever you are able.

Emu demonstrates how to integrate the positive and supportive aspects of both our ‘yin’ and ‘yang’ characteristics by drawing their wisdom into everything we do, thus enriching our view of the world and our place (and that of our children) within it.”

(I went with this one because of the recent Vernal Equinox, and the personal changes which are happening here at home, it called out to me, so I answered.)

Summing up on a Full Moon Sunday.

In my EasyWeigh excitement I’ve left a few items out lately.  One of the things I wanted to share with you was a guy I saw the other day, waiting for a bus.  Playing a mandolin.  It was a beautiful instrument, exquisitely classic looking.   Pretty much any day of the week you can find a person serenading pedestrians on a street corner around here.  But that was the first time I’d seen this.

Foreign license plates have picked up slightly, two this afternoon as I pedaled around the neighborhood:  Michigan and Florida.  And in the past few days I saw 2 Texas, one Illinois, and a New Hampshire.  (New Hampshire, Delia!)

J.D. and I met at the framer’s last week (or possibly the week before) so we could get one of his Solstice gifts finished and to complete that custom cross stitch he ordered.  When he picked them up I wasn’t there, but he did send me photographic evidence.  He also said that they both looked great, we’d done a terrific job with our selections.

Here is a phone photo sent from their living room.  (I didn’t realize until later that he hadn’t included a shot of the other one.)

Doesn’t everyone need an Olde World Map?  My son did.  (And he assured me that those lines are light issues in the room, they have nothing to do with the framing or the excellence of the entire piece.)

When I got up today I had my fruit.  Easy.  Still don’t miss the tea.  Rode the bike and then came in to see what was on our card altar.  But then I was notified (I don’t know any other way to explain it) that we should consider this a Special Occasion and go with that deck.  As I focused on the message closer it became more clear.

Reading Allen’s book, and addressing the way he talks about food and health, really is very special.  It’s going to be something that will be with me from now on.  What my notification was about, is that by acknowledging and honoring this Brain Change, I’m validating it.  And me.

“Emu  ~  Endurance.

A solar influenced creature, Emu speaks of the responsibility afforded to fathers who find themselves raising their children  single-handedly.  Emu Dreaming lends itself to the teaching of effective parenting skills and the endurance that is required to execute the role, especially under difficult conditions.

The Emu, being a grounded, flightless bird, offers real and practical relief to the single father.  As a ‘yang’ totem, Emu demonstrates the practical skill needed to guide and raise a child when the nurturing and protective energies of the mother are absent.  Emu offers the resilience needed to cope with the day-to-day tasks that tire and exhaust, especially when a job or career is extra-curricular to the responsibilities of the lone parenting role.

Alternatively, Emu can also assist the single mother by offering the masculine support lacking due to the absent father, so that her energies may be preserved and rejuvenated.  By invoking the support of  the male Emu’s Spirit, the children will sense the presence of male energy, pressure will be alleviated for the mother, and stamina sustained.  Assuming that the Emu energy is being radiated through the heart of the mother or the residual energy of their absent father, the children will acknowledge the harmony created within the relationship they have with their mother.  Emu Dreaming subsequently renders the mother’s role more grounded, balanced and less emotional, particularly if the role of single mother is new.

If Emu has strolled into your cards today, look at how you are holding up physically and emotionally to the stresses of life.  Perhaps you need to pace yourself better so that you are able to maintain a manageable level of endurance.

Emu promotes a holistic approach to life that incorporates a healthy mind/healthy body philosophy while encouraging you to seize personal quiet time for replenishment whenever you are able.

Emu demonstrates how to integrate the positive and supportive aspects of both our ‘yin’ and ‘yang’ aspects by drawing their wisdom into everything we do, thus enriching our view of the world and our place (and that of our children) within it.”

May I just begin by saying how cool I think it is that there are designated totems for single parents?  I LOVE this deck even more than I did before.  Also, I don’t know if we discussed this here or not, but these cards have Earth Elements assigned to each one, this is the first of the Fire category.

The number is significant here too, in light of the message about one parent missing and how the energy of Emu stands in under those circumstances.  There is overwhelming historic evidence to show that the original Holy Trinity was Mother, Father, Child (and before that it was The Triple Goddess).  In the case of this 12, it adds down to Three.

What it says additionally, other than making us aware of the awesomeness that is Emu as a single parent’s patron saint and guardian angel, is to remind us of our blessings.  And to help to balance the energies in our own individual situations.  We can all use a gentle prompt when it comes to scheduling ourselves some Quiet Time for a recharge.  As well as being sent an urgent memo from our Team on how to integrate these available healing properties before we get completely run-down.

For me, this was a wonderful validation that I’m in this for the long haul.  It won’t change too much right away, but the endurance required to become healthier and happier in this body is a strength I already possess.  We are all equipped with exactly what we need to get us exactly where we’re going.  Calling on Emu will help us to remember this when we get tired and crabby.
