Growth

Every.  Single.  Day.  We are granted educational opportunities.  It is our task to find them, and share them.  (We get more than one, but probably less than a million.)

Some are obvious, way obvious.  They are clear and easy to understand, they make sense.  Others, well, they can be like a spiritual Easter Egg hunt, elusive and hiding.

We all pass along our lessons in different and individual ways, none better than any other.  Some of us, like those loved ones who went Home early, had less time to learn and to teach.  But their lessons are as valid as someone who shares for twice as long.

It’s so very important to honour every type, evenly, lovingly, and fairly.

This is where the message is taking us right now:

find it, acknowledge it, give it.

To share, is key.  We can learn and gather, but if we don’t share and give some of ours to others, it doesn’t help; doesn’t help us, doesn’t help those who we could be learning from, in our own sharing.

This has been a difficult journey, no doubt about it, but it’s also been so fucking FULL!  The downs are terrible, the ups are amazing, but the in-betweens are where we spend most of our time.

To be grateful for all, every lesson, is where the Universe wants us to focus.  We are here to learn, and …… to teach.  It’s the sharing.  Really, it is.

I have to say that my old Nikon digital camera has been misbehaving lately.  I can’t take any photos with it at the current moment.  I may need a replacement.

For this post, I’m being directed to search in our archives and come up with the perfect complimentary view.

No card draw, just this, a shot I saved from December of 2015, it fits.  Our North Jetty, in Florence, as the sun sets.  All that sand, it used to be someplace else, and now, it makes a walkway, covering the rocks.

Things change, and we move forward.  We treasure the past, but we have to cast our eyes ahead, while living here, in this moment.  Now.

Answers and Alleviation

The past few weeks I’ve been feeling increasingly overwhelmed.  As in the way of all things, (see last post re: thinking and being), the Universe stepped in.  Pun unintentional, but highly appropriate.

Wanna guess who had to make a visit to Urgent Care and got sent home with instructions to stay off her feet for the next 4 days? Yeah, this witch.

The eclipse, politics, Mercury retrograde, debt, work problems, increasingly painful edema, and now a new (wtf?) foot situation.  It was just adding up to equal: too much.

I went to see a medical professional and she shut it all down.   She became the voice of Source.  She said, “no more” and she was the last word.

Thanks, Powers That Be.  I’m listening.  And now, I’m staying home, elevating my lower appendages, practicing Self-Care, and being here in the small house which is now our home.

As I paid attention to what the signs were telling me, I heard this:

Timelessness

We have many lives, many chances, many adventures.  If it all doesn’t get done RIGHT NOW that’s fine.  We have tomorrow.  We have next week.  We have next year, and all the years/tomorrows after that.

We are being reminded that the Journey is where our focus needs to lie.  Aim for the enjoyment, the lesson, the tiny moment of pleasure.

Once again, it’s about being present.  Being in this time.  And if some shit has to be transferred to tomorrow’s list (or some tomorrows in the future) that’s perfectly okay.  We’ll get there.  We always do.

Time does not “run out” nor does it disappear.  It wrinkles, it rolls over, it moves along, it meanders down its own path.

And as a validation, we see that it also turns like a wheel.

Wheel of Fortune  ~10  ~ reversed

Or, as I like to read them, with a tweak.  This view shows us that we’ve all been around the block.  We’ve seen the ups and downs.

What changes is not the Wheel, but how we see it.  There are lean times and times of plenty.  There are times when we feel like we need a break, and then, maybe we can go on a vacation/take a day trip/slip off for a nap.

A new cycle has begun, and we are rolling around in the middle of it.  Transitions surround us.  The dust has begun to settle.  We’re finding our groove after having lost the beat.

Basically, no matter what today feels like, we know tomorrow is there.  An opportunity.  A new fresh day, filled with potential.  Time turns, it is gifted to us.  We can choose to embrace it, or not.

No map needed this time.

We can find the good in practically anything, if we search long enough (same for bad).  This is merely a truth of our world.

Since November I’ve removed myself from a great deal, in regards to the news.  Some aspects of social media I was never a part of, except for business purposes.  But other sites, I truly enjoyed.

In limiting my exposure of triggering or upsetting topics, turns out, I have actually broadened my awareness of places and scenes which make me incredibly happy.

For all of the negativity we’re witnessing, there is also a vast amount of wonderfully uplifting content.  We simply need to find it.

And that’s what the Universe would like us to focus on . . . . .

seeking treasure.

As you all know (oh, so well), I’m an over-sharer.  This doesn’t change when I happen to be garbed in a corporate uniform standing behind my day-job front desk.  I recently made a very surly business traveler laugh when I told him of my self-exile from all topics non-fun.

If you look at my Instagram feed, you see that it’s full of Victorian houses, dolphins (including sharks, sea horses, and whales), international miniaturist, plus-sized fashions, snakes in hats, comedic women, and family members.

This man found joy as I described the accounts I followed, the photographs which cheered me quickly and thoroughly.  This was not what he expected upon check-in.  He needed a laugh, seemed natural that I supply it.

We can all use a bit of humour in our day, something to lift our sad and weary hearts.  It can be a tiny thing.  All we need to do is look for it.

Those treasures are waiting for us to find them.

In validation, we have a draw right now which I’m hoping everyone will gain benefit from.  If the wording is not suitable, please (as always)  feel free to substitute terms more comforting for your belief system.  On a soul level, the labels we select here are not at all important.  But the message truly is.

This Altered Now

The feelings I have about Summer aren’t what they used to be.  So much has changed in our lives.  Very little looks as it once did.  Metaphorically, as well as physically.

As a child, and then a young mother, I adored the idea of no schedules, no school, no rain, no constraints.  The all-too brief season of heat was what I lived for all through the rest of the year.

Now, well now I’m just hot.  Now I’m working.  Now the weather no longer has much to do with my day, or even my night.

Still, we want to remark on the moment.  We want to recognize the turning of the wheel.  We want to remind ourselves that each season is special and important.

On Tuesday night, at 9:12 p.m. I will stop, and I will acknowledge that brief occasion, that ticking minute, when Spring has gone, and Summer has arrived.  I will stand in the longest day of the year and I will Choose Joy above all else.  No matter the temperate, no matter the circumstances.

Our message is just this.  Be aware of time.  Sit with our experiences and feel our emotions.

There is value in reflecting and savoring our memories.  There is also honest need to step forward into our next chapter, with appreciation of where we are, where we have been, and where we are going.

In validation, we have this beautiful card altar draw.

oracle of the mermaids

“Endurance  ~  43  ~  Keep going!

Like these mermaids, you are reaching an important stage of your journey, and it is essential that you continue.  There will be times when you feel like you have had enough and you wish to suddenly stop moving . . . . to sink, rather than to swim.

But the mermaids are here to ask you to continue swimming, tired though you may be, full of doubt though you may feel.  The second part of your strength is readying itself, and will come through, just exactly when you need it to.

Keep going.  You are strong.  You will go so much further than you currently believe that you can!

This is not the time to run back, or to allow the waters to take you.

This is the time to continue the journey you committed to.

You must keep going.  Eyes forward, intentions focused.  Purpose clear.  Re-commit.

And keep going!”

Kindred

Yesterday I spent a significant amount of my day with an 8-year-old. She is not related to me by genetics, but her parents and siblings have become like family.

Again the Universe is telling us it’s time to revisit the conversation around that concept of: it takes a village.  And how without support, well.  Everything is just that much more challenging.

             Here’s what I’m hearing ……

tribe

Who makes up our closest, our near-and-dear, our most loved individuals?  Whoever they are, they’re never all related to us by blood, by DNA.

Often, our core group is a gathering of like-minded souls, with some genuine relatives mixed in.  It matters not one bit what this ratio of the blend is, nor really, what the numbers even are.

The important and valuable part?  That we take care of our clan, that we hold them close and back them up.  That we love them, unconditionally, and we are there to support them.

Because we know, they’ll be there for us.  One of the best ways to make sure we’re recharged and can help family when called upon is to take care of ourselves.

On what is taking the place of my card altar right now (see phone pic below), we are being validated in that very sentiment.  We MUST practice Self Care, and then, we can be of use to those we love.
