Strength by Association

I was going to say that it’s been a difficult past week in Mental Health, but truly, EVERY week has its challenges, for so many of us.  We don’t hear about the non-famous folks who are also struggling.  And that’s where my focus has turned.

It’s not even really about “reaching out” as all the media is reminding us.  It’s more about the

staying connected.

There are people who think this is our only life, and that there is no Source.  Who believe that we’re just bouncing around out here randomly, and then we die.  Well, that’s not how I understand it.

Our goal is to do the very best we can, and the prize is that we can then go Home.  If our journey causes more pain than we can tolerate, sometimes, we bail early.

This option leaves behind more hurt than can be measured.  And yet.  There are moments, times, people, who can only see that avenue, and no other.

We can never know what our tolerance is until we have reached the breaking point.  It is one of the most individual aspects of who we are.

Staying in contact with our loved ones, our co-workers, our community is the very best way to keep that pain from overwhelming us.  Just knowing that there is someone, anyone, we can depend on to share a tiny bit of that pain with can be enough.

Another suggestion is to find what eases the discomfort, even for a glancing second.  And then, to share it.  To say, “hey, this works for me” so that others may, too, find a moment of relief.

As always, it takes me no time at all to arrive in front of the most perfect stack of cards with the most validating message.

angel messages

“Angel of Self-Worth

You are currently undervaluing yourself;

It is time to regain your self-worth.

You are so much more than what you are portraying to the world and those around you.

The Angel of Self-Worth is here today to reflect unto you all the beauty, love, and light that you are, and to help you regain your sense of self-worth.  Feel her healing light penetrating your aura this very moment and affirm to yourself:

I am a being of light and love.

I love and value the many wonderful qualities that I possess.

From this moment forward, I will honour and value myself, and all I am and all I do,

in the knowledge that I am part of Creation.

I am worthy of love.

I am worthy.

Repeat this affirmation several times each day, either out loud or in the silence of your heart.  Reflect upon each word and truly believe and own each one.  Express each word with all your heart and soul.

As you begin to value yourself, you will find that others start to value you.”

Today’s Sharing:

is to say, without question, at times like these, when everywhere we turn there are reminders of suffering, please, practice Self-Care.  Take your three minutes, wrestle them out of every single fucking day.  You’re worth it, I’m worth it.

Spend your valuable and sacred time sitting quietly.  Relax.  Don’t move.  Listen.  Recharge.  Breathe.  Perhaps even think about sending soothing and healing light to those who have more pain than they can carry right now.

Eye of the Beholder

There are Universal Laws and all-encompassing truths, within which we all live.  What we don’t always realize though, is how simple we are able to pare our sacred selves down to.  While still maintaining that truthful reality.

As people, sharing space here, we have far more commonalities than we do differences.  But only when viewed with that aspect of removing the dishonest, falsely created complications can we see it, can we see others and their similarities.

All of us, our soul journey, our life experience is ……….

a mixed bag.

There must be a balance.  Very often we feel wrong-footed, and begin to topple.  Losing our center, losing our balance.

If we were to look at the Mixed Bag we’ve gathered, peering inside to see all the treasures and trash, we could sort out the reasons for our imbalance.  Tossing out* what we no longer need.

*Composting or recycling, never into the landfill!

What I saw with this message was not, as we might expect, a set of scales, or an actual bag.  No, I was shown a stylized version of the human form.  With the arms and legs and middle and neck and head holding groups of items.

The “bag” is us.  We are the containers.  We hold the mixed-up lessons and gifts.  We are the scales.

Our gathered contents have to be balanced, to keep us balanced and on track.  When we feel overwhelmed or loaded down, it’s because our Mixed Bag has become too stuffed full of that which we no longer need to carry.

Time to unpack.  Time to let go.  Time to make a trip to the recycle center and pass those items on to their next loving home.

As we look to our card altar right now, this reminder is validated by showing where else we can utilize balance.

light beings

“Goddess of Beauty  ~

‘You are a wondrous being of light;

there is nothing to change or fix.’

You are a wondrously beautiful being of light, yet you cannot see it because you are comparing yourself to others instead of looking honestly and lovingly at yourself.

Meditate upon the image of this card and allow your light and natural beauty to shine through.  You are beautiful just as you are.  There is nothing to change or fix; just love and accept yourself as you are.

As you honour the beautiful person that you are, others will feel the light and warmth radiating from you.

As a result, you will attract wonderful and generous people into your life that will love and appreciate you for all you truly are.

Just be yourself – that is where your beauty lies!”

is this view from tonight’s Instagram.

A pair of pairs.

A pair of pairs.

Gifts from Nature, and discovering a CLEARANCE sale on sandals.  Yep, that’s what makes for a great day.

We’ve talked about this so much already.  And yet.  Here it is again.  (It’s back for a good reason, apparently.)

It’s a Self-Care kinda day.  Again.  Some more.  Additionally, and specifically.

When I woke up this morning, I heard our message, in one phrase, clearly and loudly.

I’m Worth It

Which also means, we have worth.  We have value.  We, personally and individually, have a depth of meaning which no one else possesses.  Just us.

Is it cultural?  Is it societal?  Is it generational?  Is it simply wearing these fallible body shells which causes us to focus on the flaws instead of the brilliance?  To be so finely tuned to the stresses instead of the successes?  Does it matter?

Our reminder is simply that we have to begin within.  We must honour our sacred selves.  And do it with intention.  We’re worth it, no question.  What does matter, is the importance of us.

Also under the heading of Valuable, is what we create and manifest, in and from our sacredness.   So this daily draw is precisely the proper validation.

our artist within

“God Of The Arts  ~

‘The artist within you is about to emerge.’

The true artistic self who dwells within you is awakening, and ready to emerge now.  You will soon feel a strong urge to express yourself creatively.

This creative expression will lead you to new and exciting ventures, projects, and ideas.  Expressing yourself creatively will also help you to balance and heal emotions, which in turn will help balance and heal you physically.

This is a time to be authentic and true to yourself.  Allow yourself to express all you feel without reservation, censorship, or judgement.

Honour the inner child within you – and just be you.  You can express yourself artistically in endless ways . . . . . “

Today’s Inspiration:

Be the person you want to meet next.

Responsibility, and Making Room

Justice can be a difficult concept to accept, whether karmically or traditionally.  Our laws and procedures were created by people, so, they are flawed, as are we all.

Cosmically and metaphysically, the Universal ruling system works in its own time.  Not always convenient for us, the impatient human.  We don’t see the results and judgements made, usually.

What our message focuses on today though, is the knowledge that yes, every one and every thing does have…….

They do exist.  Whether we see or know of how Balance is reached, it is.  Not one person escapes the ramifications of their actions.  Not.  One.

We are responsible for every good and bad and neutral decision we’ve ever made.  None of which is an isolated incident.  All of which makes up our complete self, our whole journey.

Not yet returning to our regular rotation around the card altar, we’re receiving another piece of this same message.  Within the cycle of being responsible for our own actions, we lose and we gain.

Because Life is Death, and Death is Rebirth.  And all is equitably balanced.

angels and gods and goddesses, oracle cards, hades, god of the underworld, letting go

“God Of The Underworld  ~

‘Something which no longer serves you is about to end.’

Hades, God of Death and the Underworld, has appeared in your reading today to mirror an impending death.  Yet this is not a physical death, rather it is a death of outmoded ways of thinking, belief systems, or emotional patterns that restrict or prevent you from moving towards a more positive and inspiring future.

On a subconscious level you have yearned to rid yourself of these traits which, deep in your heart, you know keep you from being and experiencing all you can.  It is difficult to let go of something so familiar to you, yet know that in this instance, it is essential that a part of you die in order for you to experience the endless possibilities.  Surrender.  Let go gracefully, and trust.

Hades is often brutal in his ways, so you may feel unsettled or out of balance in the coming days.  However, remember that this is all a natural part of the healing process.  This card is not a curse; rather, it is a blessing which has the power to transform your life.

Don’t forget, death and rebirth are two sides of the same coin, you cannot have one occur without the other.  Let go of the old and make way for something new!”

is this view, earlier in my day.

From a distance, it looks like a temple with reclining couch.

From a distance, it looks like a temple with reclining couch.

In reality, it’s one of two bus stops that are options for me on non-bike-ride days.  They are nearly exactly equidistant from The Burrow, but this one has a cover.  And a sit-down place.

Choices and Selections

If you’ve been here long enough, then you know how I feel about “forced” holidays (and the unattainable expectations that come from them).  Yesterday we went to have a dinner with my parents.

It was low-keyed, casual, and I felt enormously blessed to even HAVE this opportunity.  Not all of my children were in attendance, my mom and dad have few living relations left, two guests at dinner weren’t able to be with ANY of their family members.

And yet, we shared a meal and each of us realized what a gift this Sunday get-together was.  This morning brought a message that I am not surprised to see:

Gathered Group

Our culture does us a disservice, one which we’ve talked about here before.  No one is like the idealized false examples on TV, the movies, or in all of that hideous advertising.  So when we look around and see what we don’t have, it is often a painful reminder.

Except….. except when it isn’t.  Except that we do NOT have to accept this false and hurtful standard.  We are perfectly well equipped to build another family.  (Or incorporate others into our existing family.)

We are more than welcome to construct a tribe of like-minded individuals.  Any group that we consciously gather with can create new and unique traditions   This is how OUR story is best told.

When we select the beautiful beings who nurture and support us, we are healing everyone present.  And yes, even beyond that circle.  The more times we gather together and rejoice (or ya know, just enjoy each other’s company), we are contributing positive energy out and out and out into the All.

By choosing the group, we have also chosen Joy.  And then, we are able to share it.  With those whom we deem worthy.  Not by what has been dictated AT us.

On our card altar today, the daily draw is reminding us that this healing and positive influence must begin, as all emotions do, from within.

oracle cards, goddess of compassion, quan yin

“Goddess of Compassion  ~

‘Self-criticism is diminishing your sense of self-worth.’

The Goddess of Compassion has shown up in your reading today to ask you to be more compassionate towards yourself.

At the core of every living thing only love exists.  Your personality and the role that you play in this life is only transitory and ultimately, an illusion.  All that you perceive to be good or bad or necessary aspects of who you are;  positive and negative qualities exist in everyone and in everything.

A more accurate description of positive and negative is Yin and Yang, for in reality there is neither positive nor negative, only opposite qualities which together make us whole.

Self-criticism is diminishing your sense of self-worth and keeping you in the illusion that you need to improve in order to be worthy of success, happiness, and fulfillment.

Have compassion; love and accept all of who you are, as you are, and stop striving for something that is impossible to attain.

Through love your life magically transforms.”

Recent Kitchen Adventures:

don’t have a photo this time.  But that doesn’t make the project any less impressive.  To me, anyway.

Have you ever created lemonade by hand?  From real live lemons?  Like, with a cooked simple syrup, fresh mint, and I-squeezed-them-all-by-my-self-elf fruit?

Because I just did this the other night.  I had several lemons, a grapefruit, and one lime.  Here’s the deal, my finished product was amazing.  So tasty.  A ton of freaking work, which took all* damn day, but the end result was truly impressive.

*Not like consecutive hours, but still, lots of time.

No specific recipe, I just used bits and pieces from what I could find.  Our local paper ran a feature story a few weeks ago, so I mainly went off of that.  If anyone has spare citrus just hanging around, send me some.  I want to keep doing this.
