Abundant Opportunities

When my witchlings were young children a very wise parent friend of ours told us about picking our battles.  Yes, I’ve referred to this example before, but it’s part of what we need to hear today.

For a two or three year old, saying “clean your room” can be overwhelming.  Instead, give them a choice of not many things they can start with, like, “would you rather begin with socks or books?”

They select one and that’s where the focus goes.  Then, we move on to the next item.  And work on getting those to their proper places.  That’s how the room gets straightened up and no one has to lie on the floor in a puddle of tears and frustration.  (Neither mom nor kid.)

The Universe is suggesting that it’s not necessary for us to feel like an overly tired toddler.  We have . . . . .

All The Choices

We need only pick one, and that can be our starting point.  One at a time, one step, one choice.

Remember the Blondie song lyrics, “anytime, anyplace, anywhere, any how” and the way ALL possibilities were listed?  That’s it, those are all of our options. We can see them, and select the appropriate one.

We have ALL the avenues open to us right now.  If that feels overwhelming, just take it simply and make a choice.  Then, we can go back later, and get another one.

The limitations we tend to believe in are not true.  That’s where we get hung up.  There is no end to the choices we can have and select from.  There is no end to the opportunities available to us.

It’s up to us to grab the one we think will suit us best, first.  Then, we can get another one, later.

On our card altar we are reminded of last week’s draw, where Courage and Honesty are evident.  But now, the validation of today’s message is added to the mix.  (Nice blend, I thought.)

“The Rebel  ~  IV  ~  Major Arcana

The powerful and authoritative figure in this illustration is clearly the master of his own destiny.  On his shoulder is an emblem of the sun, and the torch he holds in his right hand symbolizes the light of his own hard-won truth.

Whether he is wealthy or poor, the Rebel is really an emperor because he has broken the chains of society’s repressive conditioning and opinions.  He has formed himself by embracing all the colors of the rainbow, emerging from the dark and formless roots of his unconscious past and growing wings to fly into the sky.

His very way of being is rebellious – not because he is fighting against anybody or anything, but because he has discovered his own true nature, and is determined to live in accordance with it.

The eagle is his spirit animal, a messenger between earth and sky.

The Rebel challenges us to be courageous enough to take responsibility for who we are and to live our truth.”

Eugene best grooming salon

These ladies, and some of their personal pets.

As family and friends, we could not be more proud of all that they’ve accomplished in such a short time.  The future is most certainly bright.

Mutually Maintaining

Evidently, the Universe feels that this Support message needs to be hammered home.  Repeatedly.  We’re still getting it.

The twist today has more to do with how we live with it, how we stay connected, and how we dwell in a state of …………

shared labor.

Most of the images I was shown this morning were similar to communal homesteads.  Because when we work together, the work itself is easier.

The reminder is about how we can support ourselves and our loved ones by doing what we do best, by enacting the “play to our strength” attitude.

Isn’t there a bible line about how many hands make the labor less work?  Well, that’s the idea.  When we do the chores that we don’t mind, and everyone else does too, then everything gets done and none of it seems so difficult.

Returning to our regular rotation around the altar, we are given an idea of how to incorporate this into our day-to-day, how to remove the label of “work” and perceive all of our tasks as creating experiences of shared joy.

“Creativity  ~  III  ~  Major Arcana

From the alchemy of fire and water below to the divine light entering from above, the figure in this card is literally ‘possessed’ by the creative force.

Really, the experience of creativity is an entry into the mysterious.  Technique, expertise, and knowledge are just tools; the key is to abandon oneself to the energy that fuels the birth of all things.

This energy has no form or structure, yet all the forms and structures come out of it.

It makes no difference what particular form your creativity takes – it can be painting or singing, planting a garden or making a meal.  The important thing is to be open to what wants to be expressed through you.

Remember that we don’t posses our creations; they do not belong to us.  True creativity arises from a union with the divine, with the mystical and the unknowable.

Then it is both a joy for the creator and a blessing to others.”

FLP Report:

begins with this (disturbing and highly illegal) view from earlier today.  (No state visible.  At.  All.)

Honda, you're doing it wrong.

Honda, you’re doing it wrong.

And continues with a special issue Washington (for hose-draggers), an Arizona (notable because we haven’t seen one in ages), a possible repeat Tennessee, an unknown state featuring a beautiful water bird, new New Mexico, that one with the palm tree I love, a Minnesota, Missouri, Massachusetts, Florida, and lastly, a single Iowa spotted at the grocery store.

The Symmetry of Union

We could take yesterday’s opening statement and apply it to our message for right now.  It would be entirely appropriate.  Because again/anew, we have seemingly opposing forces combining for cohesion.

It’s like a theme, but not really.  Once again though, we need to look slightly further down, dig a tiny bit deeper.  See with our lovingkindness eyes.

Independently Together

Within a marriage, there are (generally) two individuals who work as a couple.  Within a family, there are some number of individuals who work together as a blended group.

We have a Team of loved ones, saints, angels, guides, and other helpers who combine forces for our highest good.  Each of these examples begins with a single being.

But even the groups are still unique combinations of individuals.  That’s what we’re being reminded of.  To see (and honour) that original sacred self, and how each of us is able to keep our integrity, even as we blend with others.

We need never lose our distinct and specific person-ness, no matter how firmly and snug the fit of our various groupings.

On our card altar, within the regular rotation, we have a similar duo.  To stay empowered, and self-strong, we don’t have to give up any of our own-ness, even when we play and mix and come-together.

action and arcana

“Playfulness  ~  Page of Fire  ~  Mastery of Action

When the Page of Fire enters your life, it is a sign that you are ready for the fresh and the new.  Something wonderful is just on the horizon, and you have just the right quality of playful innocence and clarity to welcome it with open arms.

The Lovers  (r)  ~  Major Arcana”

In this case, we are being reminded, by the Challenge of an upside-down draw, that we never need to give up ourselves in order to be with others.

We are not only perfectly complete on our own, but we can be perfectly complete as we become part of a pair, or a family, or a mixed tribe of any blending style.

Our key components are, to be fun and definitive.

Today’s Affirmation:

I appreciate all of my blessings, and I easily express how grateful I am for my life and for being me.

Remainders and Renewals

Cycles.  We are looking at cycles.  Spiraling ever upwards, we live in change.  It’s not our favorite house, in fact, we’d really like to move out.  But, that would be changing, too.

What the Universe wants us to focus on right now is our leftovers.  Our messy piles that get almost forgotten. Almost, not quite, stepped past or kicked aside.

Re Building and New building.

Finishing a chapter in our adventure can be untidy.  We’ll end up looking like yesterday’s bedraggled feather.  And yet…. we’ve still got much left to do.  We’ve still done so much already.

The raw fact is, life’s just pretty unorganized, and it naturally gets disheveled.  We are part of that.  We move through it and out of it.  (Or in my case, we move through it and simultaneously stay in it.)

To accept the grubby bits as well as the shiny, we make more progress.  We learn faster and we understand more.  No judging, merely observing.  Not good or bad, simply messy and tidy.  Cycling through.

As with our (hugely validating!) daily draw, this spot we’ve come to on the card altar, it shows our forward momentum as well as our mindful balance.

queen of clouds reversed with XXI

“Queen of Clouds  ~  Mastery of Mind  ~  (reversed) Morality”

Which I’m not going to type out from the book this time.  Basically it’s about being hung up on what is supposedly the “right” way to live.   As in, that bullshit old status quo of “what would the neighbors think?”

Fortunately, we have traveled well past that crap, and are now moving on to:

“Completion  ~  XXI  ~  Major Arcana

Here the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle is put into its place, the position of the third eye, the place of the inner perception.  Even in the ever-changing flow of life there are moments in which we come to a point of completion.

In these moments we are able to perceive the whole picture, the composite of all the small pieces that have occupied our attention for so long.

In the finishing, we can either be in despair because we don’t want the situation to come to an end, or we can be grateful and accepting of the fact that life is full of endings and new beginnings.

Whatever has been absorbing your time and energy is now coming to an end.  In completing it, you will be clearing the space for something new to begin.  Use this interval to celebrate both . . . . the end of the old and the coming of the new.”

is to say that I’ve recently been on a search for more variety in music to play during my pool class.  Today I’m listening to sounds like THIS.  I love all of the new selections that have crossed my path, but really, steel drum island bands truly make my heart happy.

Honestly Receptive

Today’s message is very much connected to my return to the regular rotation around our card altar.  (The guidebook definitions of which I’m being directed to skip this time.)

Also (or is it: because?), it’s not so much about the words right now.  It’s more a focus of thought and emotion.

Open Thinking

We are being asked to observe and acknowledge in an available and open way.  No labels or judging, no preconceived notions of past cultural iconography.  Be free, as much as is possible, in our mind’s eye to observe and expand.

Adding the imagery of these illustrations, we are better able to absorb the idea.

"Healing" and "The Source"

Healing” and “The Source

We heal and are healed.  We give and are given to.  Notice the warm and cool colors, the depth of each.   The complimentary qualities, one to another.

No matter what we call the Universal power, no matter what needs to be healed, both are accessible.  Both are united.  In us.  From us.  And through us.

All it takes is an open way of thinking.  All we need to do is unclasp our hands and reach out.  Letting go of the restrictions which have held us too tightly.

Open.  Releasing.  Available.  Warm and Cool.  These are the key points for right now.
