On The Plus Side

Living with Intention is the goal.  Being Purposeful, that’s where we want to be.  Walking in LovingKindness, our aim.  Honestly?  We know how challenging this all is.

However, we KEEP trying.  We begin every day, fresh, ready to attempt it somemore.  We live perpetually in Hope.

This week we are celebrating some family birthdays, and a family visit.  I am focusing on what a wonderful opportunity this is, I am not going to worry or stress or panic.  (See how I’m telling you all this?  I’m doing it INTENTIONALLY.)

The reason, the message, right now is that we are surrounded by garbage humans disguised as leaders and people of power, we are dealing with tragedies (foreign, domestic, personal), we are facing so many scary and shitty things that we MUST aim towards Light, and Love, and Positive.  We truly must.  It’s the only way to survive and to help.

Here’s what the Universe wants us to hear:

Rise Above

We are being instructed to Choose Joy, to face the fears and keep moving forward.  Count our blessings, not our troubles.

Even if it is simply a few moments alone with deep breathing.  So long as we are putting our Positives out there, we are making a difference. Be enraged about injustice, yes.  But also, sit in a Zen and Calm place, sending out Hope, be one of many who shares LovingKindness.

Our (still incomplete) card altar brings the most perfect validation.  (And when my camera malfunctioned [again], I didn’t fall apart, I just kept going, I used something else, and I made it work.)

“Angel of Pleasure

Take Pleasure in the things you do.

The message for you today is to start to take pleasure in all the things you do.

It’s not all about hard work, achievement, and performance.  What is important is that you make the most of every moment in your life.

Start to do more things that bring you pleasure and that bring pleasure to those you love, work, study, and play with.

Try it.  You may be surprised to find that when things become pleasurable, you accomplish more, with less stress and effort.”

is continuation of/original channeled whisper, in photo form, from my Instagram account.

We took the baby on some errands, it was delightful.  But then, so is she.

Strong Saturday.

My intention today was to be focused, and positive (or, more like,  focused ON the positive).  We had a few things to do, one of them was an errand* I was not looking forward to.  But last night a thought popped into my head, a reminder of: Think It, Be It.  So that’s what I did.

*New swim suit.  No further explanation needed.

We had to find the perfect item for the perfect (budget!) price, in the perfect amount of time.  It was close, took two tries, not one, but it happened.  I was thrilled!

The next place we went to was just as successful.  The third?  Not quite as much, but still, we came home with MOST of what we set out to get (plus a delightful bakery snack from Barry’s, because clearly, we’d earned it).  I can totally live with that.

Especially since the message I woke up with was: teamwork.  And the entire outing felt entirely community and group oriented.

On our card altar we have a very straightforward and dynamic symbol.  Also, the illustration is stunning.

“Stag  ~  Damh (pronounced as Dav)  ~

Pride, Independence, Purification

The card shows a stag bellowing as it stands before a gateway of birch trees.  According to Druid tradition, the birch is the tree of beginnings, and the stag is the creature from the beginning of Time.  The gateway represents the place of transition from this world to the Otherworld, and the stag is often seen as an Otherworldly messenger.

On the rocks beside him is the carved figure of a man wearing antlers – he is the god Cernunnos, Herne the Hunter, or Merlin.  The plants in the foreground are all associated with the stag – pennycress (deer’s pot-herb), mountain sorrel (deer’s sorrel), common asparagus (deer’s son’s leek), and heathrush (deer’s oats).

Damh brings us the qualities of grace, majesty, and integrity.  Contemplating the stag can help you achieve a greater sense of poise and dignity.  If you are ever confronted with a situation in which you feel vulnerable or under scrutiny, such as in a court of law or a public appearance, by attuning with the stag and asking for the protection of this spirit you will find yourself feeling calmer, stronger, and more dignified.

The stag signifies independence too – both spiritual and physical.  By drawing this card you will be able to find the strength to gain and maintain your independence.  In Ogham, the Druid language of sacred trees, the Stag is related to Beith, the birch tree and the number one.  The birch is associated with the blessing of beginnings.

It is auspicious to draw this card when contemplating projects.  The stag’s connection with fertility and sexuality signifies that you will find a way to bring dignity, grace, power, and integrity to your sexual life.”

The best part of this, for me, is that line about spiritual and physical independence.   Being in a “power” place when relating to body issues would be most welcome.   Also, the strength message here really connects back to several we’ve received in the past few days.

(Did everyone notice that specific “gateway” mention, again?  Yep, radio tuned in loud and clear!)
