About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom in an empty nest.  I am also a wife, a witch, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, and a friend.  I am a professional Tarot card reader (click the Testimonials tab for references) with nearly 30 years experience.  I quilt too, but not very well (I’m still learning that one).  I teach counted cross stitch and needlepoint, creating special order samplers on a commission basis (take a peek at my tab marked Services for pricing).  Oh yeah, and I have many tattoos.  Many.  (Look at that tab marked BackStory for some photos and high points.)

As of 2012, I’m also a bike commuter.  We parked my Wee Walnut and I have been pedaling everywhere ever since.

  1. I’d love to talk to you about Tarot cards. They fascinate me. I’ve got my own set as a start. They’re completely…untraditional. And I try to keep my knives away from them. 🙂

  2. Julie, you will find this hilarious. I am on Dave’s computer. This is because I just turned my computer OFF, so that I wouldn’t go on it anymore and both of us I could relax for the evening. (The computer’s name is Glinda, by the way, because she is a Good Witch who can do anything and she is my friend.) I have been on Glinda since 7 this morning because I am trying to run my own business, which means working all the goddamned time. But then I got your wonderful Christmas letter, and I HAD to somehow tell you how clever it was, but WITHOUT breaking my resolve to fire Glinda back up. I had never been on your website and hadn’t subscribed to your blog yet, but now I have done the first and will rush to do the second just as soon as I allow myself to turn Glinda back on tomorrow morning. Your website is AMAZING. You are brilliant, Julie. I am in awe of you as a writer, communicator, and now, clearly, internet jockey. Talk to you soon!

  3. Even though I have known you for a day or two, and been reading your blog steadily for several years, this is my first visit to the “About Me” page. I enjoy your blog, and appreciate the daily draw. I also love my cross stitch kitchen towels!
