The measurement of “success” has been on my mind lately. Not surprising, as I have also been feeling it necessary to understand failure. Challenging for me, since I don’t believe in mistakes.
It’s about my tendency to bristle against societies constant competition. And what constitutes “winning” in our warped and broken culture.
I’ve struggled recently. And what that usually means is I need to rest. Here’s what I heard:
What’s the answer? Why, Self-Care, obviously. Except…. except it just isn’t always THAT obvious to us when we’re drenched in the stress, the anxiety, the conflict of weighing our ability to even leave the bed versus our family’s need for the money we bring in.
That’s the moment we have to open our tool box and rummage around for assistance. We have to reach out to friends and loved ones. We have to STOP the cycle, step off the ride, pull our quilt up over our head.
My wish for everyone who might ever come across this post (and all the others I’ve been fortunate enough to channel) is that they have as sturdy a safety net as I do. My wish for all the planet is that we, each and every one of us, find relief, have care, discover lovingkindness, and share compassion.
As if in answer to an unvoiced plea, we see that on our card altar, this perfect validation appeared precisely when we needed it most.
“The Resting Tree ~ 22 ~ patience, stillness
The Resting Tree is a sign for you to stop focusing and planning and be at peace in the moment. This is the representation of nonaction and relaxation. Patience is the key to being with this Ally.
The Resting Tree asks you to slow down, sit back, and watch the roses bloom and the birds feed in the meadow. This isn’t the time to forge ahead in any way.
You may not be taking enough breaks, so you are invited to be still and contemplate your good fortune, even if it means blessing the chaos in your life.
This is a sign to allow everything to fall away except the stillness of the moment; it’s like living within the space between breaths.
When The Resting Tree appears, it signals that you’ve done all you can for now and it’s time to unwind, allow your story to unfold of its own accord. You have earned the right to rest and relax. Amazing things will come if you do.
Remember the ancient saying: we do without doing and everything gets done.”
