When we set out to live with intention, to live a mindful life, acquire a lovingkindness mindset, we are already improved.  We’ve taken the first, crucial step.  We’ve made a decision.

As sometimes happens though, the busy-ness of culture and society derail us.  We try to reconnect, even through the noise.  But it can be difficult, a challenge to hear the calm, the peace, the grace that we strive for.

Today’s message, our reminder from The Universe, is a useful tool.  Here is an addition to our bag of tricks, something we can count on and utilize.  Exactly what we need right now, the means to keep our aim true.

“Bring your focus back,” that’s what we’re told in meditative practice.  When the attention wanders, simply bring it back.  Allow our Observation Mind to notice it, then let it go.

Can it be that easy, so freaking basic?  Yep.  It totally can.  And is.  As long as we apply it with liberal abandon.  No scrimping, no closed fists.

Put that Attentiveness on everything, like a multi-use and delicious condiment.  After enough times, it truly does become more automatic.  We CAN bring ourselves back to center, back to sacred.

As a consequence, the serenity too, becomes easier to grab and hold on to.

This entire intentional, mindful aspect is validated on our card altar right now.  Additionally, its numerical definition shows us the truth in that very duality.

(It adds down like this: two plus nine is eleven, one plus one is two.  The cycle-set meaning that we’ve begun, we are on our way.)

“Coming to Life  ~  29  ~

‘Something beautiful is being born in your life.’

When you look at your life, can you see how you have grown and evolved over time?  Perhaps you’ve even shed ‘skins’ and identities and created new ones, or at the very least matured in your ideas about yourself and the world you inhabit.

You know things take time, and the Spirit world’s timetable is rarely in sync with your own.

This card indicates that a long-held dream is beginning to show signs of life.  You must try not to coax it along, or shape it according to your desires.

Spirit knows the best form for the manifestation of this dream, and your life can become even better than you could possibly imagine.

Now is the time for reverence and awe.  Allow the contours of your path to be carved by the hands of the Divine.

All you have to do is show up.”

Today’s Sharing:

is THIS perfect piece of wonderfulness that I recently came across.

If I’d met someone like Lindy West when I was young, it would have saved me (and my entire family) a fuckton of pain, heart-ache, and expense.  She’s beautiful and smart and I can’t wait to buy the book she’s currently writing.

But it can be difficult, a challenge to hear the calm, the peace, the grace that we strive for.” Oh, yeah. This is a very timely post as I struggle with my brother’s cancer, a very high energy puppy, dying cat and hamster, and having had to move my daughter back home, who is struggling with sad issues of her own. ‘Attentiveness’ feels unattainable at the moment. (Oh, and the husband is gone for the week and I’m babysitting my mother’s dog we call ‘Crazy Daisy’ who is homesick and never stops moving.) So the reminder is sorely needed. I should probably make a huge poster with ‘Attentiveness’ written across it. And hang it high so the dog doesn’t eat it. 🙂

Love those cards. Especially the artwork.

Lindy West’s description of her wedding day had me in stitches. I love her attitude!
