There are times when the energy around us is heavy.  It feels leaden and dense.  This might have nothing to do with us.  And yet, it may actually have everything to do with us.

We are social creatures, when it suits.  And we are crafted from the same ingredients as our (Mother) planet.  So it makes sense that when Earth and her children (us!) feel something unbalanced and negative, we notice it in a deep and profound way.

I was shown this overwhelming mood, and instructed on how to move it along.  (While still honouring the sensation and learning from the message.)

Soul Nourishment

We have learned that deprivation, of any sort, is harmful.  Instead, we need to replenish.  And that’s what the Universe would like us to remember.

The best way to get back on track is to step away from what is bringing us down.  Take a walk.  Sit in the shade.  Sit in the sun.  Perch next to a waterfall (or fountain, or stream, or lake shore, or beach).  Watch an inspirational video or take ourselves to the movies.  Listen to uplifting music, or sing loudly on our own.

Anything will do, as long as we do it with genuine positivity, mindfulness, and intention.  Because the very act of DOING something like this is what brings us back into alignment.  We acknowledge the emotion, we feel it completely.  Then, we let it go.

As I stood before our card altar today all I could here was the mantra: Choose Joy.  Well, as you can see.  That’s just what I did.

choose joy

“Joy  ~

Joy is a pure state of bliss,

and it is attained by bringing comfort and relief to other people.

Doing so will bring joy to your life every day.”

  1. I really should have read this yesterday morning. I could have passed up about six hours of “heavy energy”. I did, however, manage to alleviate it by planting some herbs for the kitchen, replacing a barrel of daylilies (not really good there) with sage (which is) and sitting on the deck, enjoying the yard. Message got to me anyway!
