A topic came up recently, which I’m now being directed to mention again.  It’s also what I saw as our message.

When we get discouraged, it can feel very much like we’re not making any progress.  Or that we’re stagnating, stuck in place.  These are pausing breaks that mean we need to take a rest.

Now, how long our rest lasts is partly up to us, and partly about what we need to learn.  What is NOT happening, is that we’re going backwards.  Because, much like retrograding* planets, we simply can’t.

*It looks like it, and it feels like it, and we act like it’s happening.  But, in reality, we know it’s not.

Always Advancing

We are ever spiraling upwards, ever going forward, ever moving along on our path.  Advancing.  Always.

Totally true though, that our steps may be too small to measure.  But we ARE making progress.  Just BEING in a situation helps us to learn.  Simply standing and observing our not-very-fast movement is teaching us something.

And on our card altar right now, we’ve been handed this gift, another resource for going forward.

oracle cards, self-care

“Self-Respect  ~

Respect yourself.

You are the best judge of what’s right.”

Next time we feel like we’re not getting anywhere, we can pull out this image.  And remember.  We ARE the best judge.  We DO know.  All we have to do is tune in, and listen.

My beautiful friend Karen’s daughter was married this evening.  At her parents’ home.  They catered it themselves, with help from pals (who are also food professionals), and made their own cake.  The entire event was amazing.  And more beautiful than I can describe.

Congratulations Helen and Dimir!  It was our privilege to be a part of this celebration.  You guys did a phenomenal job.

  1. What a gorgeous wedding photo. Congrats! to the couple.
I love our card today, and your great advice. It is difficult when everything seems to come to a grinding halt. I know I get impatient. Good to learn to take that time to rest and enjoy life.

Which is why it takes a village. We need support and we need to BE the support.
