When we set off on our journey to more mindful living, we become better able to observe and appreciate all of the differences that we see in the individuals around us.  We notice how we’re all so unique and fascinating.

All of us, traveling our paths, walking in shoes of our own choosing (or making).  Going to the places which call to us.

These are the images that I was shown this morning.  These various and assorted adventures and expeditions.

Far and Wide

Near and Close

It matters not one bit if we are a global wanderer or a neighborhood trekker.  It matters not one bit if we have a passport or if we simply tour our own backyard.

What aids in our healing and helps us to learn our lessons, is that we do what feels right.  We go wherever we are called.  See what is pleasing to our souls.  Follow our hearts to the location which soothes it the most.

The dichotomy of someone who has set foot in multiple countries on assorted continents, with that of a person who has never been more than ten miles from where they were born, is what makes us the diverse, special, and beautiful beings that we are.

We inhabit the landscape which nurtures our spirit.  We live (and visit) where it feels like home.  As it should be.

Returning to our regular rotation around the card altar, today’s messenger is exactly the one we’d like to have on our side.

oracle cards, animal messages, badger

“Badger  ~

‘Abandon compromise and fight valiantly for what  you believe in.’

Bold Badger, her distinctive stripes a badge of courage, fears none.  Throw trepidation and fear aside.

Like Badger, abandon compromise and the dissembling that leads to defeat.  Take a firm unwavering stand and speak your mind, regardless of others’ opinions.  Fight valiantly, openly, and aggressively for what you believe in or risk losing it forever.

Remember, however, that play is important too.  As a cub it honed Badger’s awesome skills, as an adult it assures her continued prowess, as it will yours.”

Today’s Family Update:

is to announce that our newest baby did arrive last night.  His name is Skyler Luke and he’s delightful.  Our Mad Hat did an amazing job, all without a drop of medication or pain relief.  Talk about a rock star!

  1. “Remember, however, that play is important too.” I think that putting this last or not allowing yourself time to do this can trash your ‘mindful’ living attempts. Remember that saying, “All work and no play…”? But how to do this guilt free with the needy making snarky remarks…

YAY! for Skyler! So glad Madalynn got through everything okay. So how does it feel to be a Grand-Aunt?

My brother’s daughter had a baby one year and three weeks ago, so being a Great Auntie is no longer new. My mom now has two great-grand kids, one of each flavor.
