Thoughtfully Accepting

It’s still snowing.  Like actively.  With the added bonus of alternating  freezing rain.  The Deputy is beyond displeased.  He and Empress (who’ll be staying home with me another day since all of her dogs rescheduled this morning) believe that this will be how the world ends.  It.  Just.  Won’t.  Stop.  Snowing.

For me, I’d simply like to sleep through the night without being startled awake by overly loud barking and brain-penetrating beeps from all manner of electronic devices.  What scraps of messages I did manage to get, ironically enough, had to do with . . . .

. . . . personal and individual power.

We may not be able to control the weather, but we can certainly control ourselves “within” the weather.  Or whatever is our current situation.

Which brings me back to our Enchanted Map.  We’ll be going with that stack again.

oracle cards, messages of personal power

“Wide Open  ~  42  ~

You are free to express your uniqueness to the world and share in all the bounty of life’s endless possibilities.

All manner of opportunities are presented to you at this time.  The Wide Open card is a signal that you are able to truly manifest your dreams and that your goals are in sight.

Don’t remain small and contracted.  Instead, expand your horizons beyond what you believe to be your limitations.  You have a unique voice that needs to be expressed in the world.

The Universe is supportive of new ideas and approaches at this time, so speak up and speak out.

This card is the sign of the maverick who freely roams the wide-open space of possibility.   Allow for a greater vision to replace old ideas as you dream a grander dream.”

Perfect, right?  Stand up tall and be heard!  Even if it means we have to do it in our snow outfits.  Layers and layers of snow outfits.

But wait, here’s the opposing direction.  Because even though this one did definitely come up direct, it felt like both sides needed to be shared.

“Reversed

Envy, jealousy, and possessiveness are the character flaws to be careful of at this time.  You or someone else is closed off, unable to remain open to new ideas or intimacy.  Heed the gentle warning that too tight a hold on what or who you love, or what you aspire to, will choke the life out of that which you desire.

Open your heart and loosen your grip, for what is truly yours can never be withheld from you.  If another is shutting you down, let that person be.  Don’t try to force a door – or a mind – to open.”

Which leads me directly into a continuation from yesterday’s sharing.

“Does the analytically mind fit into all of this?  After all, facts are facts, and there are reasonable things to do when the world is falling apart and people are pushing your buttons.  Logic has its benefits, true, but when you use it as your only guidance tool, instead of letting Spirit direct you, your thinking is mechanical, and you have a mechanistic view of life that prevents you from  perceiving magic and mystery.  You will limit your enchanted powers.”

Today’s Winter View:

is exactly what I saw, shortly before Dan left for work, out our front door  (which, it seems, is also in frame).

nearly two feet of snow

The deck is now level with the yard, or so it appears. Maxx has fallen off more than once.

In the dark it’s extry cool, our faerie walk* lights shine through the snow.  Of course, there’s no way for me to capture that image, but still, it’s pretty.

*That’s the name of our garden path.

  1. Great card, both directions. Good reminders.

I (somewhat foolishly) instigated a gathering last night. 4 of us gathered at Mary’s for some short ribs, yams and kale plus fudge banana chocolate ice cream treats and the Olympics, and I drove Pat home (she had walked over) and then we went home up our hill. Won’t be driving anywhere today, and so glad I am not a numbered person anymore.

Yikes, your hill is worse than ours!

  3. That’s a lot of snow! Poor Maxx — I can just see him blithely walking out on what seems to be an even path and going headfirst into the snow.

These cards are very interesting. I may have to look into them.

    Stay warm!

I’ve basically never come across a product by Colette that I haven’t adored. She’s super cool in person, and has had her share or difficulties.

  4. Good card! Stay safe where you are! I think tonight is going to be a movie night warm and snug at home!

I haven’t left the house (except for forays into the yard and street) since Wednesday night. Cabin fever? Never heard of it. 😉

  5. Yep, end of the world sounds about right. Except here in the UK it’s coming in the form of floods. Some areas have been under six feet of water for a month and a half with constant torrential rain and hurricane force winds forecast for the foreseeable future. The Deputy’s not the only one contemplating armageddon right now!

    Stay safe and warm Julie
