You may have noticed that I’ve not been updating with daily mileage recently. Partly because I didn’t ride my bike as much as I thought I would in December (I was on the city bus more), and partly due to the fact that I’m striving to live my life with no numbers.
What I’ve learned this past year is that our bodies tell us how much, in basically all categories. So, we don’t need math to be healthy. I’ve progressed to no weighing, no calorie counting, no measuring of any kind. Except for the last remaining calculations: bike statistics.
In the year of 2013 I rode a total of 1418.545 miles. That’s substantial. And I’m very proud of it. But from now on, we won’t be counting anything. I’ll just pedal for transportation, or I’ll take public conveyance. (Dan might still continue to share maps though.)
Moving into more blended mind-body-spirit thinking feels like the way I need to go. So, on that note, here’s what I woke up with earlier today:
The images which accompanied this one were heart-warming and entirely lovely. As in a large family, all parts of the group will do their portion. Since we are also part of a Tribe, we can help our Clan by contributing what we do best.
Offering the skill that comes easiest to us is like a gift for the highest good of all. What we find simple, another may have difficulty with. What is challenging for us, others might perform with no effort at all.
When we share the burdens of life, nothing is too heavy.
Back within our regular rotation around the card altar, we’ve arrived to receive this validating message of harmony, from an emotional angle. (Which I’m going to edit.)
emotional balance, psychological strength, relationships, protection
…….you are dearly loved and held in high esteem by many……
Pyrite can help strengthen you both psychologically and emotionally.”
Also, we are given this gift of strength to help us carry our designated sticks. When everyone is responsible for their own baggage, the load is as manageable as we can make it.
