I’m unsure of whether it’s because of all this mall time, or the season itself, or just being more tuned in, but what I’ve been noticing lately is the huge disparity between rich and poor right now.  I know, it’s always there, sure.  But currently, it seems so blatant.

What I heard when I woke up today is precisely within this theme.  The images I was shown were not nice.  Neither is this situation.

Look around.

And help.

There is never a simple nor quick solution to epic problems like this, or like our own personal growth work.  Fortunately though, we CAN contribute to the healing of both.

You all know that I don’t care in the least whether you believe what I do.  I merely ask that you don’t discount it, or anyone else’s values.  We learn through sharing.  Education is about the back and forth of knowledge and experience.

What I have complete faith in is that we are able to help others.  Can we give money or time?  Certainly.  We can also give of ourselves on a spiritual level.

Do we see suffering all around us?  Sadly, yes.  Can we assist in ending this?  Absolutely.  It’s called prayer and meditation and sending loving thoughts and focused energy.  Label it what you like, but just please try to do it often.

Our message this afternoon arrived to say that we must see the ones who are in need (both rich and poor), and send them light and love and caring from our heart and soul.  Just take your Quick 3 Minutes and shoot those darts of compassion out into the world.  (Making sure to start with yourself.)

Is it really that simple and easy?  Why yes, yes it is.  And when I stood before our card altar earlier, this was the draw that showed us the way to complete our task.

archangels, sandalphon, messages of gentleness

“Gentleness  ~

Archangel Sandalphon:

‘Be very gentle with yourself at this time.  Surround yourself with gentle people, situations, and environments.’

Additional Message:

Sandalphon wishes to help you feel peaceful and centered, and he strongly advises that you begin by listening to gentle music.  Play it wherever you go.

Talk quietly, and engage in slow, rhythmic movements such as swaying to music or a gentle yoga session.  Don’t engage in battles at this time.  Instead, retreat from conflict while you revive your spirit and become even stronger.

Delay decision making at this time.  You’ll know exactly what to do when you emerge from your gentle retreat.

Working with Archangel Sandalphon:

Sandalphon’s aura is a calming and cool shade of turquoise, like the translucent tropical ocean.  Meditate upon this color, or hold the stone associated with his energy – turquoise – and feel your heart rate and breathing become quieter.

Sandalphon can help your words and actions to be kind and gentle  yet powerful.  As the archangel associated with music, you can feel his presence strongly when you listen to music, sing, or play a musical instrument.”

This is exactly the time of year to practice this behaviour.  Also, the angel told us to.

Are we swamped and overloaded with rushed plans and horrible traffic?  Constantly!  Which is why those quiet moments we take to heal the world and recharge ourselves are VITAL.

When we shun the negativity and mindset of “GAH – I’LL NEVER GET IT ALL DONE ON TIME!” then we are rising above those lower fields of energy.  We are walking in beauty and living in love.  Our world becomes a haven of lovingkindness, not frenzied anxiety.

  1. Beautiful, Julie, just beautiful! This is my Solstice plan, when the energies available are at their height (and YAY, I’m so glad it’s on a Saturday!!!). Though I do send out loving energy periodically, I want to become more consistent, and on Solstice I will devote hours to doing so. 🙂

We shall all be better for your efforts.
    So, thank you. 😀

  2. I too needed the reminders. Thanks.

Also (re your tweet) half-assing it is my usual M.O., but I wanted to be better this year. My sister’s going to help shopping when I get home.

Getting help is always a good idea.

  3. Really some good thoughts here. Thanks for sharing them, and the card is just what I needed to get. I think that I will coordinate some Solstice energy and send some good out. Meanwhile, I will keep smiling and being genuine in my loving kindness vibes.

And you have a truly awesome smile.

  4. Excellent! I gave a little money to a great local youth-oriented charity. I’ve been doing more chores since my one housemate has been laid up with a sprained foot, and thus helping maintain equanimity in the household (as much as is possible). And I’ve been working on being kind and loving and compassionate toward myself (which is at least a start). Plus, I smile at people when I’m out and about and I am generally polite to people, patient, and if I notice something good about them (a piece of clothing, a purse, whatever), i tell them about it and it apparently feels good because they then smile back. So that’s how I’m giving back so far. I like the concept of sending out vibes on Solstice, with the idea that it will be more powerful then. Certainly for a sun person like me, the Winter Solstice is a happy day because now the days will begin to get longer and, when there is sun here, it will last longer! (I like the moon but have always, always identified with the sun.)

Saying something nice is ALWAYS good.

  5. great thoughts today. Even though I know better, it’s so easy to focus on all the stuff –the actual physical stuff– involved with Christmas. I’ve been doing my level best to be patient and compassionate and cheerful, but it’s so easy to get stressed.

Why is that? I’m the same way.
We have to work harder at DE-stressing. Hence, this reminder. For everyone.

  6. Good reminders! The silly season can take a lot out of you.

I did have a brief enjoyable interlude this evening. I was in the last store of the day before going home (I’m almost done shopping!!!). As I was moving around the store, this older lady and I kept nearly running into each other. After the 4th time we started smiling and laughing at each other as we passed. When I was standing at the check out (hidden between two stands), I heard quiet laughter behind me and a voice said, “You and I were destined to keep finding each other today.” I turned around and there she was again. We had a nice chat and it was a nice end to the shopping day.

We did just exactly this same thing with an adorable young woman at the grocery store. She reminded us of our own girls. It was delightful.
