There is a card in the Tarot deck, in the suit of Wands, which I call “Everybody else’s sticks.” (Because I tend to name all manner of things, perhaps you’ve noticed this about me.)
The image that I woke up with this afternoon* is very similar to that illustration. An individual toting so much that they can’t see around the burdens in their arms. But, the thing is, this is NOT their obligation, it belongs to another.
*Technically, I really became awake BEFORE noon. Somehow, in my slumber, I noticed an obvious lack of additional person in our water-bed. The Deputy worked 18 hours, and arrived back home about the time our alarm was going off. And no, I did not get up. I went right back to sleep.
What I saw had to do with us being truthful and being strong. Us being empowered and us being firm in our convictions.
Someone else’s stack.
I was directed to be leave our regular rotation, because these messages needed to shared together.
“Goddess of Strength ~
Stand up for what you believe;
you will gain respect by holding your ground.
There are times in life when it is best to let go and walk away from certain situations. However, you are being encouraged by the universe to stand up for what you believe in, with regards to a situation you are currently faced with.
The universe is testing your faith and resolve. Stand firm in your beliefs and convictions, yet do not allow resentment or anger to fester. It is possible to be both loving and strong simultaneously.
You will gain much respect from others by standing your ground. At the same time you will have broken a long-standing pattern of not standing up for yourself that has affected your life experiences for a long time. Congratulations!”
While I disagree with the testing part of this definition I do find the value in it talking about our strength of character. Because when we let go of that which is not ours, we are unburdened of more than just that issue, we are freed of lots and lots of weights, many we didn’t even realize we were carrying.
Give those sticks back to whoever they belong to. Walk with your power in full view, but your arms only holding what is yours. I will do the same.
