All The Feels.

Commuting to the mall via public transportation?  Check!  Very successful.  Would have been perfectly successful but I kinda missed the connecting bus.  On the plus side, I came home with a BARGAIN bag of bagel chips.

(Leaving the downtown terminal [walking across the street] to pick up a library book real quick, with a detour through the on-site coffee shop equals delay.  Oops, couldn’t be helped.  I caught the next one.  A bit of a wait, but not too bad.)

We were going to stop for some grocery gathering, since this is Tuesday.  But I forgot to load the car with our shopping bags and the list.  When Dan came to pick me up, he had no clue that these items should have accompanied him.  So.  We’ll do it tomorrow before he has to leave for HIS work.

Waking up went nicely as well.  (Positive attitude, people!)  My dreams were confusing, but no less vivid than they have been lately   Here’s what I  heard, with no question about it:

authenticity of emotion.

We are to acknowledge and then honour our feelings, knowing that we are capable of so much heartfelt passion and sentiment.

And hey, speaking of such, look at the card we received to back this one up.  (This is one of my favorite angel artists, too.)

angel messages, oracle cards, archangel haniel, passion messages

“Passion  ~

Archangel Haniel:

‘Trust and follow your renewed passion in your love life and career.

Playing it safe can lead to staleness and depression.  You have asked for more happiness and definite direction.  I’ve lit the flame of passion in your heart to lead and guide you.  It’s safe for you to take risks and follow your heart’s desire.

Ask me to be your partner along your path of passion, to guide and nurture you. When you feel a strong knowingness, alongside a burning passion, pay attention, as this is my way of giving you information about your next step.’

Working with Archangel Haniel:

Haniel’s name means ‘Glory of God’ and she can help you be glorious by living at your highest potential.    She’ll guide your hidden talents, and help you polish your skills.  Then, when you apply your masterful ways to your true passions, Divine magic occurs!”

Today’s news from the mall:

is this view.

santa at the mall

Try to ignore that huge floating head poster, she’s a local news person. And I’m not sure why they have to hang her likeness right there……

This is looking towards Santa.  He’s there, just in the shadows, beyond where it says “Exit Only” on the far right.

(Title credit goes to my Seattle girl, speaking of newsy news professionals.)

  1. So, there are all these angels and angel names being tossed around by the various angel decks. Are these angels referred to in the Bible? Where do these angel names come from? Where do their aspects come from? Are they made up by the writers?

Now that’s out of my system: I like the messages, both yours and the card’s. I have to deal with my emotions about my mom again: other than the staying up too late (5 am 3 nights in a row), I have felt detached, which is a sure sign I am avoiding or holding in feelings. I know it’s not going to be any fun, but I’m going to have to go there.

And I like the passion about a career thing. I want to work. I want money. I don’t feel the great passion I used to feel about high tech, but I don’t know what else to do. I know I need to do some research. I feel passion about my own writing, which is one of the reasons I have avoided it: it’s scary. But the novel sitting on the table next to me is catching my attention more and more and now I have to work on it. I spent a lot of years ignoring passion. Time to give in.

  2. I’ll jump in on the Angels! You can yell at me if you want, Julie. But I figure you’re working and I’m procrastinating… 🙂

What I’ve learned so far(briefly): Angels are found in many religions: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism to name a few. They can also be found in shamanism, classical mythology, and folklore. At one time there was a distrust of Angels and praying to or worshipping them was considered “idolatry”. Very few Angels are actually named in the Bible. Most of what we know comes from early Judaism and theologians. Most of the classifications/choirs/hierarchies are atributed to Dionysius the Areopagite, a sixth century mystical theologian, (he was not the philosopher converted by St.Paul) and St.Paul. But who the Angels are (names), how many, and what they do varies by beliefs.

What Angels look like has changed from time period to time period based on peoples’ perception of them. For example, Angels didn’t get wings and halos till the fourth century. Whether they are male, female, or sexless has varied with the artists’ renditions as well. Some Angels, like Michael, have gotten a kind of standardized look based on the art work of famous artists that has survived the years. But basically, anything goes. It is interesting to note that Jewish law forbids making such representations.

There is so much stuff on Angels, someone could probably make this a life long study. Yikes!

And Julie, did you see that Yvonne Gilbert does most of her art work with just colored pencils!!?? Just amazing!

Robin, that was great! Excellent angel history and background. I couldn’t have done better. Thanks very much.

And yes, I did notice that about YG, so cool.
