It would have been a Jammy Day, if not for yard debris.  I had to walk across the street and hang out with my new neighbors this afternoon, discussing compost, autumnal leaf pick-up/rake-back-in, erosion, community gardens, and soil acidity.  Since I adore the delightful young man and his bride, actual clothing was in order.

Seriously, it’s so wonderful to have such an adorable young couple in that house.  I see it EVERY damn day, and now that it’s occupied by folks I truly like, it’s a joy to look in that direction.

Otherwise I was only slightly accomplished.  I mean, I got laundry done (more tomorrow), I combined ingredients for a special request treat (photo and details below), I put together some lunch items (both for here and as a deputy work meal), I became current on the local news, and then, this happened.

chaises, quilt cover-ups, dogs on furniture, zebra pig
“Zebra Pig and I will wait right here…….”

The new (BARGAIN!) cover-up quilt works great.  Maxx and I were very happy with how it turned out.  Right now though, he and his girl are on their way to Seattle.  So I had to sit in the chair alone.  It felt weird.

Earlier, before he left, when I (eventually) got up, this message was hammering at my brain to get out:

pay very close attention,

check all details at least twice.

Which I can only take to mean that this next Mercury Retrograde* phase may be a strong one as far as the tiny particulars and minutiae of our lives are concerned.   So, we are forewarned.  And that’s always useful.

*Details in the middle sidebar (which I update constantly).  Also, I’d recommend visiting Sarah’s site as we get closer to the event (and on a regular basis).

I was directed away from our regular rotation at the card altar today, so that we could receive a well-deserved reminder of faith and self-care.

angel messages, oracle cards, self-care, relaxation

“Angel of Relaxation  ~

Let go of desired outcomes and you will get what you want.

Everything will fall into place and become clear when it is meant to, so switch off and take it easy for a while.  The Angel of Relaxation has appeared in your reading to help you relax.

By keeping your focus fixed on all it is you wish to happen, you are, in a way, preventing the natural flow of events to unfold.  Surrender any project or concern to the angels in the knowing that all is being taken care of.

Focus on all you have achieved to date and on all your many blessings.  Take time to nurture and pamper yourself and start to do more of those things which nourish your soul instead of worrying about the future.

By relaxing and letting go of desired outcomes, you create the space for the angels and the universe to give you what you want.  Trust!”

There is so much truth in this message that I’m just going to let it soak in. And my hope is that everyone reading it is able to take this advice to heart and truly enjoy some relaxation and peace of mind.

Today’s Deck:

Angels, Gods, and Goddess Oracle Cards by Toni Carmine Salerno

Today’s Kitchen Adventure:

was another batch of these, but with a twist.

krispie treats with other cereals
It seems that any cereal will do.

We came home one night and found the above box on our kitchen table, with a note from Empress, that requested it be turned in to krispie squares of marshmallow-y goodness.  So I created a car snack for her.

(And now that it’s up here, I hope she shares with Indi, Hanna, and Keith!  Personal note to Jade:  we have more in our ‘fridge, only half of this batch would fit in the To Go container I packed.)

  1. Wow it sounds like you’ve been busy! It’s really great that you like your neighbours. I wish that I knew my neighbours better but I never seem to see them.

There are some that I never see, but this beautiful couple is directly infront of me, so I can’t HELP but notice them.

  2. Nonononono… can want Retrograde…..nnoooooooo…..

Awesome BARGAIN! cover for the chair. Max is soooo cute. Amazing how empty the house is when they’re not there making you crazy.

I notice him gone for about the first half-a-day….. I’m still fine with not having any right now.

  4. So take that card and hold it next to that chair. What’s it telling you? Relax and here is an awesome place to do it. I’ll be right over . . .

Oh I relaxed just great. See my reply to Robin, I’m not missing him, so much as noticing that he’s missing. 😉
