We went out.  And came home late, because we brought my bike home after pool class (and also picked up some food).  Notice the new fenders!  And what you can’t see is that I now have working shifters, one on each side.  What a luxury!

biking in eugene, kerri's neighborhood bike shop
Plus a non-frayed (and dangerous) brake cable.

Next payday?  The Deputy’s bike gets to go see Kerri and have the same treatment.  (Well, some of it anyway.  His shit isn’t as broken down as mine was.)

(I’m having trouble concentrating right now.  Dan is upstairs making another flower water infusion, this time with lavender and rosemary.  For the grand-dog.  The smell wafting down here is so amazingly wonderful I can hardly think in even my own non-focused fashion.)

The message I woke up with this afternoon was quite exacting and direct.

Be proud of your accomplishments,

but leave the vanity out.

Which, at first, felt a little like scolding.  But then I realized how much truth there is here.  Really, we are either born with these particular qualities,  or we are not.  Sure, some talent and practice certainly does help, but there’s just only a limited amount that we can do for some of it.

On our card altar, I was directed to leave the regular rotation and go with this stack of words-I-love (but who often need a cover-up).

healing, oraacle and angel cards

“Angel of Healing  ~

The Angels have felt your sadness and have shown up today to send you healing.

Your angel of healing has felt your sadness and has shown up in your reading today to reflect healing light into your heart.  Your angel wishes you to know that you are loved more than you can possibly imagine.  Even though you feel alone and unloved at times, know that you are eternally loved.  Whether you feel it or not, you are dearly loved and appreciated by many on the Earth plane, as well as in the angelic realm.

Close your eyes right now, place your hand upon your heart and feel the healing light pour through as you feel the presence of your angel.  Feel yourself being breathed and supported by the universal life force of love, and imagine yourself glowing with light.  Talk to your angel; ask anything you wish – share anything you wish.  You may communicate through writing, or simply through thoughts and feelings.

Doubt not that your angel exists; you will receive a positive sign or confirmation of some kind in the next few days which will help you to both trust and believe.”

Everybody, join me in practicing this exercise.  Deep breaths, hand over heart, clear and open channel to our angels.  Breathing in out, in out. In out, in out.

We can all afford to grab three minutes and make that connection.

I don’t care what the origin of this tradition is, I love it.

And they go well with a nice pot of hot tea, too.

  1. Glad you got your bike back, and are happy with the results. Fenders .look great, and just in the nick of time, too.

They help EVERYone! Since Dan always rides behind me, when we can’t go side-by-side, new fenders are really a gift for us both.

  2. You got our bike back! Yay!
My local coffee shop was advertising London Fog tea. Earl Grey with a shot of Irish Crème. Sounds good. I had already ordered coffee but I will try London Fog next time.

    Tell us how it is!
    I would totally try that.

    Now I want chai.

  3. Awww, thanks Ally! That was a wonderful video. I cried. Yeah, I’m sappy that way. And the Poopouri commercial had me howling.

Yay! for a functional bike! Feel free to send us some of your rain. We’re down an inch for Sept. And flower infusions!!! Groan. Soo jealous!

More like greenery infusions this time, but still, jeez it smells good in here.

  4. Wow, Dan was making a flower infusion? For Maxx?? Why for Maxx? Does he drink it? Does Dan make enough for the two of you to use in some way? It sounds lovely, whatever the use is.

Love the new fenders and glad your bike is now fully functional and safe. Especially that it’s safe. You are important to me.

I shared your “just three minutes” idea with a friend who said she was so busy surviving she never had a moment to even think about her life. So I gave her the three-minutes spiel. I’m going to remind her of it, but she did turn it over in her mind and thought it was a good idea.

Really need the angels today. Steve is in a mood and I have stuff I really need to accomplish Right Now. But I have a lot of inertia built up, so it’s a struggle. Steve would be happy to “help”, but as I said, he’s in a mood and his help today would NOT be helpful.

Maxx just smells like a dog. And I don’t like it. Also, he gets itchy because he’s allergic to fleas. We have a yard FULL of helpful/useful/aromatic herbs so Dan thought an infusion or tincture of lavender and rosemary would be an easy project and used as a spray would be nice for all involved.

So, he’s making some. It’s his first attempt at this exact product. Which he’s inventing as he goes along.

    Great sharing, thanks!!!

    1. I don’t usually okay “anonymous” comments, but I was very pleased to read that you liked the three minute meditation idea, so you got a pass. Welcome!
