You know how I’m obsessed with certain shows on Food Network, right?  Well, I’ve added a new one.  Even though I’m coming to a lot of these folks late in the proverbial game, this does not diminish my excitement.

Up until this past year I had no idea who Bobby Flay was.  Or what he did.  Well, now I am more knowledgeable.   And I’ve learned that one of his skills is outdoor cooking.  All things grilled, smoked, and barbecued.  His ideas are brilliant!

Tonight, we incorporated some of them.  And it was a huge freaking success.  The Deputy already enjoys the process, as it appears BF does, so just putting more items on the grill was not a hardship.

Remember how I told you that the wedding vineyard also had a pear orchard?  Well, we ended up with a few almost-ripe pieces of fruit.

No partridges, though.

From the freezer, we took out a porchetta, and I made cheesy-basil biscuits.  Then, when the meat was done, we roasted fruit.

Sure, some greenery would have been nice, but we can’t go to the store until Friday.

Make use of what you have/Make it from scratch?  Check.  Use fresh, local, organic ingredients?  Check.  Prepare your food with mindful care?  Double Check!

Earlier we rode downtown, hung out with Ryon, his oldest daughter, and some of the gym boys.  Then we pedaled over to the library, followed by the post office (finding a great bargain, which I’ll tell you about tomorrow).  Finally, we had treats with Ally and her Mrs.  A very productive and positive day!

It didn’t feel as though I needed any advice from the Universe, but we are never in charge of these things, so I just kept the message in mind.

Adaptability is your friend.

Possibly, I was being adaptable and didn’t even know it.  Or maybe, it’ll apply more later.  Again, I don’t question.  Merely tune in and report.  Like with today’s daily draw.  I was directed to this one, with a cover-up that I found in the card altar room, on a stack of other clippings.

angel messages

 “Angel of Soul Love  ~

Time to look at how you value yourself;

issues of self-love.

The world around you is simply a reflection of your inner world, beliefs, and feelings.

There is a person or a group of people in your life at present who keeps putting you down and undervaluing what you do or say.  The Angel of Soul Love realises that this is a painful and hurtful situation for you and has shown up in your reading today to help you work through and heal that issue.

From a higher perspective, all happens as an act of love.  The people in your life at present are simply here to help you face your own feelings of inadequacy, self-worth, and self-love.  That is not to say that you should pat them on the back for making you feel small or sad, rather it is the opposite.

Stand up for yourself regardless of what others think or say and know that you are eternally worthy of love.  In essence, you are a wondrous and beautiful being of light and love.  You are held in eternal embrace by the soul of creation, loved, and valued more than you will ever know.

Start to have loving thoughts for yourself; you are perfect just as you are.  There is no need to change anything about you except for the perceptions you hold about yourself.

Affirm to yourself many times each day, ‘I am love, I am light, I value and honour myself through my thoughts and through all I say and do.  The more I love and value myself, the more love and value I attract from those around me.’ “

Let’s repeat the beginning of that affirmation again, shall we?  I am love and I am light; I honour and value myself.  I’m going to jot it down, and I’m suggesting that maybe you do, too.

Today’s Mileage:

was another circuitous route, for 12.025 miles, in 1 hour 8 minutes and 53 seconds, with a fairly brisk pace (as we outran the raindrops) of 10.4 MPH.  Go check out Daniel’s map HERE.

FLP Report:

from the road and from today includes several (4?) BC sightings (one version which was new to us), another one of those Wisconsins we’ve been seeing around, an Indiana, one singular Idaho that neither of us had ever spotted (with an elk on it), a Washington bike plate, a North Carolina (the one with the bear), plus a Florida (an orange, not a peach).  Plus an unknown one that got past us.

  1. Your dinner looks very yummy! The housemates have a grill but do not use it, unfortunately. And I love the idea of cheesy basil biscuits!

I don’t actually have anyone in my life who puts me down except me, and I am working on that. So I’ll just keep working on it. Nice affirmation!

We’re growing basil in a pot on the deck, it’s become my new favorite thing to add.
