The good news, no one died. The bad news, hmm….. well let’s just say it involved a series of unfortunate events. Because, ya know, it’s us. The factual news: we did make it to the wedding.
Were we late? Yes. Did we get lost? Yes. Was our entire hanging bag full of what we had set out to wear for the blessed event left on the back of a chair in The Burrow? Why yes, yes it was.
I should have known when we checked in to our room early. We are NEVER early. In our combined years (all hundred and five), we haven’t showed up to ANY fucking thing early. (I was late to MY wedding!)
Turns out, Hood River is NOT a fashion mecca. However, there is a place called Top To Bottom, run by fabulously helpful (and brightly dressed) Mexicans. They saved us, and for bargain prices. With items we might actually wear again. (I couldn’t BE more damn proud of my heritage!)
Also, no message. Exactly. I woke up (to a REALLY damn early alarm, after not NEARLY enough sleep) hearing that song from yesterday. So. That’s going to be our thought du jour:
let it be.
Which, after it’s all said and done, I’m fairly happy with. As well as the daily draw. Before we left (early!) this was the one who wanted to be shared.
“Follow Your Dreams ~
Meditate on your heart’s desire. Rearrange your schedule so that you are spending time in ways that are truly meaningful to you.
Sometimes it’s difficult to know what you truly desire. You have so many outside influences, as well as personal fears, tugging at you, demanding, ‘pay attention to me!’ You wait for a free moment that you could devote to your dreams, goals, and aspirations. Yet that moment never seems to arrive.
The fairies ask you to take charge of your schedule. First, they ask you to meditate on your heart’s desire. Make a list of five priorities in your life. Then, write down a schedule – in ink – so that you’ll spend the necessary time engaged in these activities. It’s not important what you specifically do during these times; what’s important is that you invest time and energy in that which makes you happy and fulfilled.
I deserve the best. I take charge of my schedule and my life.”
