The Deputy and I are sitting in Florence‘s Dairy Queen.  We’ve been to both jetties, walked the length of Old Town, had lunch dinner some food in a delightful restaurant, and now it’s gone dark.

This day-trip (facaction) is an early anniversary gift to each other.  And we are having an amazingly wonderful time!  Oops, losing our signal.  Better get this ready to post.

The message was “know Joy” and our card is one of the angels.  But I don’t have my camera cord, so that part will have to wait until we get home.  I’ll be adding on an update later (probably an hour or so after regular posting time, so it won’t really effect many of you).  There will be links then, too.  Check back!

****** Just got home, it’s nearing midnight, here’s our daily draw, and the latest news.

angel cards, higher education messages, learning life

“Higher Education  ~  Guardian Angel

Your angel is guiding you to gain further education, either by attending school or through independent study.  Higher education refers to instruction with a spiritual basis, so this is a message for you to study topics that capture your true interests. . . .

Give any worries about having enough time, money, or skill to your angel.  You are being pushed to learn more as a result of your prayers for increased fulfillment.  Trust that this door is opening for you at the right time, and walk through it with full faith.  Begin with simple steps, such as researching various classes on your chosen topic.

Even though you may feel that school will take time, remember that you’ll be alive and doing something during that time anyway.  You may as well use your days wisely by investing in something meaningful.  By pursuing higher education, you will gain newfound wisdom, higher self-esteem, new friends, and exciting opportunities.”

I have to add here that, when I looked at this one, right before we left town, I thought immediately of how I would be doing just as was suggested, in the form of learning a tremendous life lesson today.  Simply by going to the place where the land meets the water.

It felt as though this idea could be applied with a much broader sweep.  Not all educational options are classroom oriented.  Sometimes our most valuable lessons are learned merely by living in a mindful, aware, and genuine manner.

  1. So happy you are at the coast. Will check back if you get around to writing more. Will be happy for you if you don’t because obviously you will be having to much fun.
    The sweetness of doing nothing.

We got home, after picking up Maxx, a bit before midnight; it was a really good thing we stopped at that DQ for the pre-posting (and the Blizzard). Now I’ve updated, hope you check back in tonight.

  2. Awesome for you guys, doing a daycation to the coast. Well done. I can’t think of a better learning environment than that.

I can’t think of a better one either.
For me, this is Paradise. Or ya know, the closest thing to it that we can drive to.

  3. A trip to the Coast: how wonderful! Can’t think of a better way to get in touch with nature and your higher self. But then, I am an ocean person. I need to live near water of some kind, even though I am an Air sign.

Education …. I do need to work on learning a particular piece of software, even though it’s a very old version. At least it will give me a grounding in it. And I need to do a lot of reading on various subjects that have some relation to technical writing so I can be more up-to-date. So education is definitely a good message for me right now.

Glad you got a day at the beach!

Getting current, and learning more, about our chosen profession is always a good thing.

  4. Lovely! Nothing like a trip to the coast to get re-energized.

I get a minimum of three days out of one day-trip. The HAPPY of anticipation; the entire time there that’s filled with JOY; then remembering how much fun we had, after we’ve returned home.

    11:19 p.m.

  5. Oh, I miss the ocean. I’m glad you were able to get away for the day!

I was missing it too, even with our last,
    not-so-long-ago visit over there.

  6. since I am avoiding the studying I need to do for the classes I’m supposed to teach this fall, this was exactly appropriate. *sigh* and Happy (early) Anniversary.

I’ve been an excellent source of distraction lately, which I am happy to do (and be)! 😛

Thanks, tomorrow (the actual day) we’re walking down Amazon for some mediocre Italian food, and doing yard work.

  7. Yay the ocean! I grew up near the Atlantic (ten minute drive) but I feel most at home in the mountains. Isn’t that weird? But we had a great vacation at the shore this year–the boys were in the water almost every day. Good memories.

I just read a blog about unschooling, which says pretty much the same thing about education–that we can be lifelong learners outside the confines of traditional learning. I was intrigued.

    1. My mother grew up in Santa Barbara, and couldn’t WAIT to move away. Some folks are fueled by salty water, some by large trees, and others by the heat of the desert……..

That DOES sound interesting! Who is this person?
