Double Duty.

In my rush last night I forgot one of the shots I wanted to share.  After dinner, we took a wander.   To Salem’s Waterfront!  Which I had no clue even existed.

Salem's stone staircase

Stone Staircase!

They also have a carousel and a riverboat.  It’s such a gorgeous place, I want to go back and spend the day.

But for now, let’s get on with the business at hand.  Our message from this “morning” came at me twice.  Not sure what that means, but here it is:

gather strength and power,

disperse fears,

then step boldly into life.

Not much question as to its purpose, though.  And back on our card altar, we get to look at, arguably, one of the prettiest decks I have.

oracle cards

“The Shadow Queen  ~  16

acquiring knowledge, insecurity, manipulation

The Shadow Queen tells you that too many of the details hidden behind your circumstances prevent you from moving forward quickly at this time.  She has come with a lantern to help shed light on what is concealed within you or your situations.  This is the time to wait for more to be revealed.

Perhaps you lack clarity and the knowledge of how to proceed with the subject of your inquiry.  It’s time to educate yourself a little more about your intention and then put that information to work for you.  The Shadow Queen asks that you dig deep to gain strength and that you have the courage to ask someone ‘in the know’ to shed light on your circumstances.  She promises to send that person to you.  Beware of moving too quickly in the dark, as you will likely trip and fall and have to start again.”

Even though this one came off the stack direct, it feels now as though we also need to look at the upside-down definition.

“Challenger:

The Shadow Queen gently asks you to address your innermost character flaws with compassion, for now it’s time to bring your wounded self and hidden agendas into the light.

You are seeing the tangible results of those aspects of your nature that have evolved in response to the difficulties in your life: they’ve been a means to help you survive.

Perhaps you’re falling prey to insecurity masked as elitism and arrogance  believing that you know best; to comparing yourself with others; or to being fearful and self-sabotaging.

You may have been taught that manipulating others rather than being direct is the way to get your needs met.  The Shadow Queen reminds you that manipulation in any form isn’t the best method of getting what you want.  Another meaning that can also apply is the possibility that you are being affected by someone else’s wounded self.  Perhaps you are the one being manipulated.

Whatever the case, it’s time to take a fearless personal inventory and observe what part you play in the dramas and potential disasters in your life.   When you come to the place of humility, forgiveness, and grace, then you may proceed again and walk into the Light.

There is great value and strength in facing your shadow in the realm of the Shadow Queen.”

Aha, well okay then.  Now they make more sense, together.  Cool!  (If we wait long enough, it really DOES get explained.)

Today’s Deck:

Wisdom Of The Hidden Realms Oracle Cards by Colette Baron-Reid.

Today’s Mileage:

is a walk, after we got home from the pool, and had finished dinner (technically lunch for us).  We took the dog and went in search of dessert.  HERE is Dan’s map.  Oops, smart-ass phone difficulties, no map tonight.  Just the basic info of Distance: 3.94mi, time: 01:36:13, pace: 24:26min/mi, speed: 2.46mi

Today’s Sharing:

is from Karen Buys, who is currently away from home.

carolina marsh

This is her view upon beginning her day.

I have titled it (for my filing system) as Carolina Marsh, because it is.  On the other side of the house, is a slightly different vista.

Ocean!!!

Ocean!!!

The yearning I have for being near the shore is nearly killing me.  However, I am also tremendously glad that a beloved friend is enjoying these rejuvenating natural gifts.

FLP Report:

begins with this illegal, albeit adorable, sighting from right down one of our hills, near The Burrow.

Ireland license plates

That is not a real Ireland plate, but it is cute.

Plus the ones I spotted recently, which include Louisiana (Barb was passenging, so she called it out for me), Alabama (not the Sweet Home version though), Florida (Orange, not Peach), one Michigan, New Jersey (no one I knew, sadly), and a Washington State Parks that Dan and I saw the other day.

LateNight Astrological Observations:

we’ve lost one of those retrograde planets (Saturn returned direct on Sunday at 10:12 p.m. my time), but the rest are still messing with me.  Merely mentioning it, in case anyone else has experienced glitches and foul-ups, too.

  1. Both of those pictures were evening shots. The light is so gorgeous then! And Shadow Queen had quite a lot to say to me . . .going to have to go find some quiet time today to think about it.

Thanks again for sharing these views with us! I hope some day to see ALL of the oceans, but if I don’t make it, I (at least) was able to enjoy it this way.

  2. I like this card, too. I really need to spend time thinking about what I want my life to look like and be like so I can make it so. Lots of thinking must occur, rather than the rather large amount of avoidance I’m so good at!

I’ve never been to the Salem waterfront. Just the Corvallis one for their Farmer’s Market. And Salem has an AWESOME Saturday Farmer’s Market. Just sayin’. 🙂

And hey! New picture! Lookin’ good, girl!

That head-shot is really another poorly cropped picture. My hair in every photo looks bad, and in real life, it’s worse, lol! Partly because it’s growing so damn fast. 😛
