You know the drill, we’re all aware it by now, so I won’t go in to the details.  Basically, if one of my kids goes someplace that’s not here, I’m gonna cry about it.  Or, at the very least, have a sad day.  That’s the reality of being me.

It’s merely a fact that we’ve all just come to accept.  (Embrace!)  Not surprisingly, our message from the Universe was a healing representation of this emotional time:

sometimes you just need to cry;

cleanse, and go!

The best way to combat the sadness, for me, is with distraction*.  Our daily draw provides this in a wonderfully thought-provoking way.

*Our shared pictures (some Dan’s, some mine) and mileage, below, were part of this distracting approach, too.

goddesses, angels, and oracle cards

“Goddess Of The Shadows  ~

What you perceive to be your dark side holds a hidden treasure.

Realise that any perception or belief you have about yourself or others is actually a deception more than it is a perception.  What you perceive to be your dark side or shadow self holds a hidden treasure.

As humans, we rarely see the full picture in any situation because we are forever stuck in the illusion of good and bad.  You judge your positive and negative qualities and strive to be more of what you perceive to be positive while attempting to disown or neglect those aspects which you consider negative.  By holding this belief, you fail to realise that all serves a purpose and that all benefits you in some way.

Everything in our world is made up of positive and negative charges, which together make a whole.  You have been guided to choose this card by your soul, because you are ready to move to the next level of conscious awareness.  Over the coming months you will find yourself questioning many of your long-held beliefs and you will realise that many of them are simply illusions that only serve to keep you feeling small, inadequate, or restricted.

This card heralds the start of a wondrous and empowering period of your life which brings to the surface many beautiful experiences and opportunities which, in the past, you never though possible.”

Can’t you just FEEL the dynamic motion already happening?!  I adore messages like this, because it totally shows us how we are growing and learning.  Very uplifting!  (And exactly what I needed right now.)

Today’s Mileage:

is part of our distraction theme.  We went on a LONG, and leisurely ride.  In the sunshine (and the wind).

Knickerbocker Bridge view
The new, second half, Interstate 5 freeway bridge in the background.
(We were checking on the progress.)

The grand total pedaled was 15.543 miles, in one hour 35 minutes 9 seconds, with an average speed of just 9.7 MPH.   Go HERE to see Dan’s map.  (No, really, you have to see this route!)  We wandered along, conversing, gazing about, and looking at various ridiculous shit items of great interest.

boys in the willamette river behaving well
We saw these guys, from that (above) vantage point. They were so cute, waving and being super nice when we told them we were taking their picture.  As a mom, I was very proud.  (Also, as a mom, I was slightly concerned about who they had lined up farther down-river to retrieve them and their floaties.)

There were tons of folks on the water.   And just plenty of people out there with us, nothing felt crowded though, so that was wonderful.

FLP Report:

is a catching-up session from the past few days.  Starting with two Floridas, only one of which we photographed.

NOT an orange.
(Nor even a peach.)

We now recognize several states the exact second we see them, like New Jersey and New Hampshire (no surprise, really).  There were more Colorados than I could keep track of, one Illinois, several Alaskas, and two I could NOT identify (the first was definitely that sneaky bastard who got by me before), plus a single Wisconsin downtown, which was probably a re-run.

  1. I remember those days of floating along a river in an inner tube. Ah, to be so young, because there is nothing quite like that feeling. Think I’ll go float in the pool. ; )

    Pool time! 😆

    10:21 p.m.

  2. I’ve never floated down a river in an inner tube. The only real chance I had of that would have been the Columbia River in Eastern WA, and that would have been a bad idea. I got hypothermia just from swimming in it one summer!

Sorry you are sad because Hanna went back to Seattle. I was always sad when Mom and I parted. I understand somewhat.

I like the card. Here’s to it actually manifesting in my life!

    Here’s to it, then!

    10:27 p.m.

  3. Floating in the river looks so inviting. That would be way fun.

    It IS way fun!
I’ve never done it in tubes, but I’ve gone down in small boats, canoes, rafts, and kayaks.

    10:28 p.m.

  4. Card: “I have r2d2 style buttons on my stomach and my knees are on fire. I KNEW I should not have gone to a plastic surgeon in a strip mall. I just wanted a tummy tuck.”

    that is all.

(You do this better than anyone. Ever.)

    10:29 p.m.

(And hey, who DOESN’T want a tummy tuck?!)

  5. Looks like it was a lovely day and a lovely ride!

Some dark parts are definitely being triggered lately, I will look for the treasure.

The ride, the views, the company,
    all of it so sweet.
    Precisely what we needed.

    10:32 p.m.

(And yeah, no lack of Darkness for me either.)
