Resolving as we go.

Here in River City, it was hot today.  Not like, killer hot, but more warm than we are used to for this part of May.  Also, the plumbing work is done.  For now.  Dan finished what he could this afternoon before pool time.  And he did a damn fine job.

Sadly, we discovered a leak.   One that we didn’t cause.  It’s just there.  Under our kitchen sink.  Back near the wall.  Waiting.  Until the deputy gets another paycheck and another day off.  Currently we have solved the problem by putting a pot under the dripping area.  Cuz we’re classy like that.

In channeled spiritual news, our message today is all about focusing on family, in whatever guise that takes, and however we interpret it.  Could be like the global community, or the genetically related-to-folks in our lives, or our favorite “chosen” group.

This also ended up being the topic of my meditation.  Not by (conscious) choice.  I just HAPPENED to select a CD from my stack that had a selection featuring the lovingkindness theme.  It was incredibly healing and comforting.  While giving me a feeling of connectedness which is lingering and peaceful.  (I want to bottle this, and share it with everyone, all the time.)

On our card alter, I went with a cover-up, even though the illustration wasn’t one of the worst.  It just felt imperfect for the message.  (And you know how fucking important PERFECT is!)  (Not.)

messages from the gods and goddesses, oracle cards

“God Of Conflict Resolution  ~

You are being encouraged to walk away from a current conflict.

By drawing this card you are being encouraged to walk away from a current situation which is causing conflict in your life.

Understand that walking away from this situation is not a sign of weakness but rather a sign of strength.  There is nothing to prove or gain by fighting in this instance.

The universe has placed this conflict in your way in order to guide you to your true path.  Bless all concerned and let go.  By detaching from this situation new possibilities and opportunities open up for you.”

The part that I find interesting about this message is how the suggestion is different from what we heard last week.  Makes me think that the situation is different as well.  Because clearly, something has changed.

  1. Sorry about your ongoing plumbing issues. 😦 I have a blue plastic tub from Dollar Tree under mine. And no plans for a fixing anytime soon. Cuz I’m classy like you two! 😉

Hmmm, I have no current overt conflict, and, honestly, I can’t see this card applying to the same relationship to which I believe the last one applied. So, in my case, I’m thinking that the “something” that changed is the relationship to which the card refers. Especially after yesterday’s card, since one of my ongoing covert conflict-ish situations is with my mother. Who is as unlike Mother Mary as is humanly possible… except the giving birth when not married thing. That’s about the extent of the similarities.

    We ARE classy! 😛

  2. Nickel and dimey household stuff. I sometimes forget that, generally speaking, things don’t last forever. If pipes, appliances, etc. could be as forever as styrofoam, now that would be cool.

I think the card also might be saying “pick your battles” if there isn’t any obvious conflict going on…

    Good additional message!

  3. I’ve had my share of plumbing issues lately and think there is too much water in my life, so I need to add some fire for balance. ; )

Oh yes, you DID have pipe-and-water issues…..

  4. The current conflicts in my life are the conflicts between my housemates, which I don’t want to get between, and my own internal conflicts that are getting in the way of my getting things done. That I can work on and am doing so. Slowly. I used to move more quickly; I am tired of this tortoise-pace!

Best wishes on quickly resolving your plumbing issues. Plumbing and electricity: ugh. As bad as car issues.

True, very much like crappy car situations.

  5. Plumbing – I believe that as people have certain physical problems they are susceptible to – like strep throat or UTIs – houses do too. In our house, it’s plumbing. There has not been a plumbing issue we have not had in the 20 years we’ve been here so you have my sympathy.

Sometimes your cards feel like a gentle suggestion and sometimes more like a fence post. I’ve got two different conflicts going on right now, one of which I do need to walk away from and the other I need to enlist outside help with. I don’t LIKE conflict. grumble, grumble.

No more (auxiliary) grumbling for you,
    I fixed the typos. 😆
