Here’s the deal, I need help.  Of a sharing type.  Without getting all braggy-ass on everyone, we all agree that I’m damn good at my job.  Reading cards is what I do best, no question there.  What I don’t do well is promotion and business crap.  Here’s where  you come in.

I’ve been losing readers (rapidly) in the past 6 months.  Is it because my depression is driving them off this sinking ship like proverbial rats?  Is it because I’ve run my course and offer nothing new?  Is it my continued whine-fest and baking binges?  Who can say?  Clearly not me.

The assistance I’m asking for is that you dedicated (few remaining) JulieLanders tell one or two people about me, my blog, and my radio transmissions (the TESTIMONIALS tab is an excellent place for anyone to start).  That’s all.  (Thank you Megan and Judy, for already sharing this place.)  Where ever you go in your day-to-day happenings, just listen to your intuition and offer that exactly right person (or people!) the information they need to arrive here.

We need to get the word out.  We need to staple virtual handbills to metaphoric power poles all over this electronic city of the interwebz.  We need to announce, to one and all, that my archives are FREE and packed full of goodies, that my prices are reasonable, and my services are highly praised.  We need to let it be known, far and wide, that I am VERY freaking available.

Because if we don’t start generating some income, I will need to shut down and go seek outside employment.  And believe me, NO ONE wants that.  (Most especially, local minimum wage employers, I’ve tried, it’s not pretty.)

My sincere and heartfelt gratitude to you all for this aid.  Now, let’s get right to our daily draw.  It’s from a stack which called out to me, but one that did not need to be covered up with our new clippings.  (Funny how that works out.)

“Goddess Of Nature  ~

You reap what you sow;

Your dream is coming to fruition.

This is the time to reap the rewards and benefits that are derived from the seeds of a project, venture, or idea planted some time ago.  It has been plain sailing, and many a time you have doubted whether your many efforts and labour would ever be rewarded.

Yet harvest time has come.  A time when you reap what you have sown.  Accept all the blessings about to come your way and realise that they are the result of the love, courage, dedication, and commitment you have shown in the recent past.

Give thanks to Mother Nature and enjoy!”

Couldn’t be helped, we ended up with a Valentine-themed treat anyway.

On my way to see *A* this afternoon I had to pedal right past the cookie store.  Since I sort of knew this would happen, before I left The Burrow I raided our $5 Savings Plan bottle, so I could then raid De and Tony’s day-old bin.

  1. Gasp! No more Julieland would be a travesty! I will definitely share your address with anyone who may be interested. (I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but I must give some assvice here: facebook would be a great way to get your services “out there” for many more people to see/find…)

Well the card is certainly a good sign that manifestation is occurring! Hopefully some readings will materialize quickly! And, wow, how funny it is that one came up that didn’t need covering, now that you have the covers all picked out! Maybe they’re waiting for color, LOL! 😉

Happy anniversary, Dan’s parents!!! And Happy Birthday, Oregon!!!

  2. Those cookies look yummy. I’ve managed to mostly avoid Valentine’s Day, too. Except overhearing the usual, ‘if he doesn’t get me what I want I’m going to ditch him” conversation that I hate to hear. Especially this one. Cause after she ditches him a couple of months from now she’ll be whining about not having anyone.
I don’t know what I can do to keep Julieland going except I am happy to pay my little five dollars a month.

  3. I will do what I can to market JulieLand, because it would be a tragedy for it to go away and for you to try to get a regular minimum-wage job. *shakes head sadly*

I like how this card came after the last one. All that persistence leading to manifestation of what you have wanted! Yay!

  4. My efforts to market you are limited. We don’t even discuss the fact I have Tarot cards to the general public because we still live with cave people around here. And, *huge growly sigh*, like Corina said, “Facebook”. Blerg. But, as Saver said, “Like it or not, it’s there and it’s widely used. Deal with it, mom.” (grrr) As always, I wish you the best.

I had to go out and deal with the Valentine’s day overload ’cause I needed to shop for Saver. Managed to -not- get anything Valentine-ish. But what really had my jaw dropping is that last night 7-ish they were smooshing the Valentine’s stuff together and putting Easter out!!! It’s not even March yet. Aargh.

  5. Hmmm. There is the option of allowing ads on your site. I haven’t the faintest idea how that works or how much income you generate from it. Diva has it as do a few other blogs I visit and I just scroll on by and get to the good stuff. Facebook does get you out there more. You could do the Julie page and we can all “like” it and promote that way. Do you do “in person” readings? If so, you may have places you can put up flyers – like Ryon’s gym.
I haven’t got many places here to promote you as I live in Republican-land and while people like to think themselves all tolerant and shit, um, not so much in actual fact. But I’ll keep an eye out for you.
We’re doing our family Valentine’s day celebration tomorrow as it’s the first day we’ll all be together since either Monday or Tuesday. I am SO damned tired of having something to do or someone to drive somewhere every night.

  6. Could it be because you call promotion business “crap,” thus dishonoring telling your talent story to the universe?

Seriously, I went away because for a time it was so hard to post comments, and I lost the habit of reading what I couldn’t respond too.

    You’re good as evah, dahling.

  7. You know, when I remember to state on the Bettyverse Facebook page that I have a new post up, I always get an extra dozen readers or so, you could try that. You don’t necessarily need your own account, you could just use Dan’s– I know he’s a member there and we all know it’s you when “he” says something there. I will try and think of more creative ideas, and be on the lookout for people to pass the word to.

  8. Sorry to hear that things have been tough. I do think that if you are in the public eye in any way (especially any way that involves doing business with others), you want to present as positive a face as possible. Maybe have a separate blog for personal stuff? Or just do what I do, and take your troubles to the Facebook Bettyverse where you can rant in private.

I’m not going to be a great help as spreading the word either, since I am also a professional reader, so the folks I “talk” to already have access to one (although admittedly, I don’t talk about it much, so they might not know it). But I am always happy to give my friends a shout-out, so maybe I can think of something.

    Big hugs and FGBVs!
    Witchy Betty/Deborah
