Today’s card wants to be first.  I’ve had some ideas in my head that I want to share, just not quite yet.  The Universe feels differently.  But then, we also need to consider what a mess Mercury has been creating.  No doubt I’ll return to this topic (a lot).  For this post though, let’s start by looking at the message.

             The thing is, THIS is what I went to see *A* about originally.  My food thinking.  It ain’t right.  Has not been for quite some time.  What the message tells us is exactly what she is trying to teach me.  It’s a difficult lesson.  Which is why I don’ t feel as though I can say much about it right now.  I’m still learning.

             One of the tasks that seems to help, even if I’ve become slightly obsessed with it, is my bike riding, and the application of mindfulness while I’m outside on two wheels.

             We had to wait for an inordinately long light cycle across from the Federal Building, so I took this shot of Dan in his keep-warm hat.  And the Courthouse, because both are new, and interesting to look at.

             In  health news, the ride was delightful.  And the gym time was not too bad.  I thought I’d be more weak feeling, but I wasn’t.  Just as obstinate though, according to Ryon.  (Turns out, I’m not a good working-with-weights example for others.  No one was at all shocked when THAT development surfaced.)

             Things like this don’t usually come from this direction.  So not only was the event pretty damn picturesque, it was unusual, as far as weather patterns go.  I’m very pleased that we both have lights for our bikes now, it gets dark WAY before we get home.

             FLP sightings were rich and plentiful, maybe because we were on campus.  Iowa, from yesterday, Arizona, New Mexico, Nebraska, and Pennsylvania from today.  Plus an “odd Texas and one weird Nevada” according to Dan.

slightly over ten, but his computer has completely crashed*, so he couldn’t install my new gift calculator device, this is our best guess estimate.

*Send loving/mechanically healing energy his way, this is NOT good.  Mine has some scary sound issue currently, both problems we’re blaming on Mercury, but would totally like to see fixed.  Or simply disappeared.  By Magick.  Or prayer.  We aren’t picky.

Today’s Baking:

none.  But for tomorrow, when I get home from the pool, I have a new idea that I want to try.  I’ll have my camera at the ready, whether it works or not.

  1. Of course, after all the instruction to not look at the card, I simply had to! And, actually, as far as Toni’s cards go, I think this is the least objectionable so far (though that’s not saying much). I even kinda like it. Except I don’t think it goes with the message at all, as it seems much more representative of passion & sexuality than good nutrition & healthy eating. Yeah, Toni really just doesn’t do well with image selection. Anyways, good message, which I will probably ignore, because I just don’t do well with cooking for myself alone. Maybe one day, probably not soon. 😦

    Oh, except this part: “Let go of every fearful and negative thought and replace all with love; there is nothing to fear.” Yeah, that’s for me.

    Glad that you had a good ride! Awesome clouds & sunset! And so glad you’re using lights! Ugh, it is dark SO early (and even earlier for you than me).

    Both pairs of new rainpants have nice big reflector stripes (as do my new cuff straps), so that will help us to be seen. When I was walking it wasn’t such a big deal, but when we’re on the bikes we are going way faster, and are so much closer to actual traffic.

  2. You don’t just sound aware – you sound fully engaged in your life. Beautiful. Started to say something that might have been challenging to a certain planet but I decided not to. Cancel. Cancel.
    Glad your biking is going well. I renewed my committment to 2 and a half hours a week moving in the pool. Yesterday I went at 5am again because I knew it wasn’t going to happen this week if I didn’t. Then I slept. And slept.

    Yipee for pool time! We had a good class today, but yeah, I’m still getting tired faster than before I was sick.

  3. Great picture of the sky! I missed just about everything outside today, as i was teaching class today inside. Will be tomorrow, too. Excellent card; just have to practice that mindfullness thingy. And I would send positive energy to the electronic device, but I am pretty sure it would get muddled.

  4. Tomorrow I can think about nutrition, although yesterday I did finally make it to the pool – two weeks with no swimmy time is too long!
    Today is the last day of our death related activities which include a funeral mass, a long drive to a cemetery and a post-funeral lunch at an Italian restaurant. Then home with DH’s sister and the father-in-law’s second wife for more tension and drama until the two of them leave at some horribly early hour tomorrow. And I think I’m getting a cold. SO not surprising with all of this stress the past few weeks.
    Yeah, I’m just taking over your post to complain. 😉

    Come by and let off steam any old time! 😛

    Also, any opportunity we get to go out for lunch we are able to make good choices. I know you did that, mindfully.

    Now, go take your vitamins, add extra C and do as Skye says, eat garlic.

    1. Sorry you’re getting sick. Take lots of garlic! Even garlic tea (with honey and lemon to make it taste good). But at least the difficult stuff will soon be over.

  5. The card was kinda weird. Definitely didn’t look like something for diet and nutrition.

    I’m using MyFitnessPal to track calories, carbs, fat, and protein. I’m doing okay re calories, but come in low on the protein, and high on the fat and carbs. So I have to make some major changes to my diet. I think I need one of Mary Stella’s protein shakes for lunch or something. I love having oatmeal for breakfast but may have to alternate with eggs.

    It’s hard to get all the protein and nutrition I need when I don’t really cook. That’s my goal this month, to start preparing better meals.

    If you like eggs, that’s your answer right there. Hard boil a bunch and keep them in the fridge for snacking. I, personally, have trouble eating them without mayo, but both my girls (who, as you know, do not eat meat) will grab one, peel it, and devour it if there are every any around. Which reminds me, I need to have some on hand…..

  6. So…the Wild Sweets organic dark chocolate praline bar with walnuts and figs or the 85% Hispaniola dark chocolate bean to bar isn’t going to cut it?! I just found these “to die for” which is exactly what will happen if I over-indulge, chocolate bars yesterday. One is almost gone! So, yes, I will watch what I eat.

    GOOD dark chocolate is very healthy. It’s the shitty cheap kind which is full of crap and fillers that we don’t need. Yours sound perfectly fine. Eat them, mindfully and not overindulgently.
