Receiving is also good.

A few days ago Dan’s fancy new phone sent him an EXTREME weather warning.  We were gonna get some heat.  It was correct.  Our thermometer got to nearly 100 here at The Burrow.  My father called in the early evening, saying that he thought they were definitely into triple digits.  Obviously, I went on a bike ride.

Wait, what?!  Yes.  Yes, I did.  I pedaled off into the sweltering fumes of the afternoon.  Because I’m ridiculous and clearly have no life preservation skills.  Or, maybe it just didn’t feel that bad.  And I knew that I could take it easy, stay on the shady side of the road, and one of my errands was inside a place with air conditioning.  I got back, and was fine.  Red-faced and VERY freaking sweaty.  But perfectly fine.

Some re-arranging of the carrying gear.

As my mother-in-law would say, there were people conspicuous by their absence.  Not dog one in the free-roaming pet areas.  No skaters at the bowl.  Not a single pan-handling hobo on their regular corners.  And a serious lack of other cyclists out on the paths.  Clearly I was one of the only hearty  stupid  desperate over-heated folks out and about.

Before I left though, I watered my daughter’s dog.  And he was none to happy about it.

“Really, Nana?! Was that actually necessary?”

This is him seeking higher ground, in hopes of me not observing where he went.  Ha!  Not only did I notice him, but I took a phone photo too.

Sprinkling my (adorable but kinda itchy and smelly) Grand Dog was not the purpose for this afternoon’s hose chores though.  This new crop that I’m working on was.  (Just the stuff in the big yellow pot, the other greenery is all Emmy’s.)

Sprouting right before our eyes!

When I was a child my mother taught me how to grow radishes.  They were my favorite thing to pluck out of the ground and eat with barely a quick rinsing.  And they come up FAST.  The lettuces are about all done now, so I’ve moved on to these guys.  They were called “rainbow” variety on the package, and I can’t wait to see what they look like.

On our card altar right now we’ve been given a really important sign.  And because of the wording, I’ll be doing a re-write, directly following the guidebook’s definition.

oracle cards

“Accept Heaven’s Help

You’ve prayed for help, so get out of the way and let Heaven help you.

You have asked, ‘what should I do next?’  This card responds, ‘ trust that your prayers have been heard and answered.’  Simply rest and retreat for now.  After all, you prayed for Divine intervention, so step aside and let Heaven intervene, as this is the help you prayed for.

You can assist the process initiated by your prayers through quiet contemplation.  Ask Heaven to give you very clear, easily understandable guidance, letting  you know if you need to take any action.  In the meantime, enjoy knowing your angels and guides surround you and your situation with loving care.”

Now, let’s try our own, more all-encompassing revision, beginning with the title.

Accept The Assistance You Are Offered.

You have asked for help, so get out of the way and let the Universe provide it.

When we ask what to do next, the answers and responses will always be there.  Life is about giving and receiving, so now sit back and wait for the result to appear.  When we require aid, it is provided, we need only accept, acknowledge, and be thankful.

We can assist the process initiated by our pleas through quiet contemplation.  When we ask outloud for very clear, easily understood guidance, we get it.  But we must be open to receiving the signs as well as the help.  It’s important that we listen and watch for the messages which tell us what more we can be doing.

In the meantime, we are able to simply enjoy knowing that our Team and all of the positive beings throughout the Universe surround us and our situations with loving care.

I really like this illustration, even if it is so bird-heavy.  I get where the artist is going, so I’m overlooking the aviary aspect.  And hey, mermaids!  So, I’m happy.  Also?  Really, how cool is it when we are told that we’re being heard and being helped?  WAY.  Way cool, that’s how cool.
