Bountiful Dreaming, and Living Hope.

Here’s the deal, I need help.  Of a sharing type.  Without getting all braggy-ass on everyone, we all agree that I’m damn good at my job.  Reading cards is what I do best, no question there.  What I don’t do well is promotion and business crap.  Here’s where  you come in.

I’ve been losing readers (rapidly) in the past 6 months.  Is it because my depression is driving them off this sinking ship like proverbial rats?  Is it because I’ve run my course and offer nothing new?  Is it my continued whine-fest and baking binges?  Who can say?  Clearly not me.

The assistance I’m asking for is that you dedicated (few remaining) JulieLanders tell one or two people about me, my blog, and my radio transmissions (the TESTIMONIALS tab is an excellent place for anyone to start).  That’s all.  (Thank you Megan and Judy, for already sharing this place.)  Where ever you go in your day-to-day happenings, just listen to your intuition and offer that exactly right person (or people!) the information they need to arrive here.

We need to get the word out.  We need to staple virtual handbills to metaphoric power poles all over this electronic city of the interwebz.  We need to announce, to one and all, that my archives are FREE and packed full of goodies, that my prices are reasonable, and my services are highly praised.  We need to let it be known, far and wide, that I am VERY freaking available.

Because if we don’t start generating some income, I will need to shut down and go seek outside employment.  And believe me, NO ONE wants that.  (Most especially, local minimum wage employers, I’ve tried, it’s not pretty.)

My sincere and heartfelt gratitude to you all for this aid.  Now, let’s get right to our daily draw.  It’s from a stack which called out to me, but one that did not need to be covered up with our new clippings.  (Funny how that works out.)

“Goddess Of Nature  ~

You reap what you sow;

Your dream is coming to fruition.

This is the time to reap the rewards and benefits that are derived from the seeds of a project, venture, or idea planted some time ago.  It has been plain sailing, and many a time you have doubted whether your many efforts and labour would ever be rewarded.

Yet harvest time has come.  A time when you reap what you have sown.  Accept all the blessings about to come your way and realise that they are the result of the love, courage, dedication, and commitment you have shown in the recent past.

Give thanks to Mother Nature and enjoy!”

Today’s Mileage:

was 8.777 for 51 minutes and 14 seconds  putting my average speed up to 10.2 MPH because I was trying to get home before the deputy had to leave for work.

Today’s Festive Greetings:

are to celebrate Oregon’s 154th Birthday,

and more importantly,

to wish Dan’s beloved parents a beautiful, romantic, and marvelously happy wedding anniversary!

Today’s Baking:

was not done by me.

crumb together in eugene

Couldn’t be helped, we ended up with a Valentine-themed treat anyway.

On my way to see *A* this afternoon I had to pedal right past the cookie store.  Since I sort of knew this would happen, before I left The Burrow I raided our $5 Savings Plan bottle, so I could then raid De and Tony’s day-old bin.

Litha.

I hope you all had a delightful and positive Solstice today.  Mine was quite sunny.  No huge celebrations though.  I’ve done them, they’re lovely, but not what I need any longer.  In my googling around earlier I did come across a very useful resource that I thought you guys would like.  Here is a wonderfully informative post.

It’s so fun when I stumble across these places.  Can’t wait to go read more from this person.  I encourage anyone who is interested in the history of our high holy days spend a few minutes there.  No clue who runs it, but I’m going to find out later.

I also came across this place.  I’m fascinated by miniatures, as you all well know.  But this takes it to an entirely higher level.  ALIVE gardens!  But TINY!  Will be spending some time there as well.

As I entered our card altar room this afternoon, right before I headed out on the bike, I was guided to our newest deck.  As it turns out, this one is perfect for today.  (Of course it is.)

Those five-pointed stars caught my eye immediately.  Duh.  And in this case I actually don’t hate the illustration, entirely.  Kinda dark, but the symbolism is nice.  If I don’t look too closely (still lines in her eyes) this one will suffice.  Also, the message is great.

Last night after he got off work, my son came by.  He had ordered a few things for his dad, and since we were gone last weekend, the gift giving happened around our kitchen table, at one in the morning.

kitchen guns

No. This was not the present.

That gun was merely the one J.D. had with him.  To show his father?  I guess.  I wasn’t paying attention* to that part of the conversation.  The gifts were outstandingly cool, a combo package of assorted items from both of our Aries babies.  (Gemini girl gave us a baseball game evening and was fabulously generous all weekend.)

*I was very busy trying to avoid his french fries.  I failed, in this attempt, just as I did with the last one (from yesterday).  Don’t even ASK about the  health report right now.

If you looked at Dan’s new twitter page you saw the tweetie pic he sent out last night (a new watch, guitar pick press, multi-use BBQ implement, and some assorted dried meat snacks).  Later, a miracle occurred.  Jade joined the masses.  Follow him too: @daywalker103 (please and thank you).

My lettuces!

When we got home (and it was light out), this was one of the first things I checked on.  My salad bowl continues to amaze and thrill me.  This Friday I’m hoping that the guy who sold us the starts has his booth up at the Farmer’s Market so I can get more.  If not, it’ll still be a great time there, Ally is playing her tuba!  (Yes, there will be pictures.)

Finally, here’s our Daily Dog.  As soon as I opened the door he shot right out onto the porch.  Then, he immediately collapsed.

I’m warm,
are you warm?

See?  Sunny.  We are very glad to see that Summer truly has arrived.  (Even if it was ferociously freaking cloudy yesterday and it’s probably going to rain tomorrow.)
