That’s my favorite new word, the one Ally came up with for what month we are living in. It rained today. A. Lot. It seems as though my weather adjusting skills were all used up to keep us from getting soaked in Seattle. Must be, because I tried to concentrate us dry this afternoon, to no avail.
My bike ride, later on, was only moderately damp-ish, but as soon as I got home, the downpours started anew. Let’s hope this is not a trend. Rain or not, we had shit to do and friends to see. And of course, being us, we got a late start and had too much on our list.
Our very own xenatuba is the one wearing the green hat, with the flag under her chin. Okay, it only LOOKS that way in this view. I’d have cropped them both if I could have, but I can’t, so just squint past everyone else (and click to make them bigger).
In this shot she’s the one centered between the two poles (Dan’s idea, he moved me up some steps and behind a booth). I wish we could have stayed longer, we only got to hear about three or four songs. But, we DID buy some berries and contribute to the local economy. And we got to support someone we care about. (Always thinking positive!)
Last night was busy, Mayberry needed their guy for hours and hours, so he got home after I’d gone to bed. Which meant we forgot to pick the lettuce. Again. When I got up today, that was my first priority. It was raining so hard that I ran out (in my jammies and bare feet, which you can clearly kinda see below) and brought the entire thing under the deck cover.
So Delia, here ya go. A few more pictures of how the perpetual leaves just keep on giving me food. Hope this was helpful. (That skinny stalk in the middle HAS begun to bolt, and flower on top.)
My crop was a large one this time, partly because we were out of town and kept forgetting, and partly because the wet/sunny weather was ideal for more production. As evidenced by the HUGE damn over-taking of my honeysuckle right now. Jeez. I’ll get out there and trim that a bit soon too. I have to, it looks like it’s threatening to take the deck down.
Foreign License Plates from this afternoon: Arizona, Pennsylvania, Alaska (one old, one new), New York, Colorado, Arkansas, South Carolina, Virginia, Wyoming, Michigan, New Mexico, Minnesota, and one from Washington we’d never seen before, it has three head-like characters on it with the letters L.E.M. Law Enforcement Memorial? That would be nice if it was. Well, ya know, not NICE that officers die, but that they are being remembered and someone is raising money for worthwhile causes in their memory.
The notes that I took from yesterday are about what I saw but couldn’t photograph, and what I was thinking. Like how a delightful young man stopped for me to cross an intersection. He had the funniest little dog on his lap, literally his co-pilot. And how I’ve started seeing feathers again. Black this time, lots. Very close together. Oh, and there’s a NEW Farmer’s Market location in town! I am so excited. I’ll ride down next week and check it out, it’s that close.
And from our last out-of-town adventure, I took these phone photos (and promptly lost them in our most recent multi-computer mix-up).
For a few months now Hanny has been telling me about this place, and I was so happy when we got to go. Yes, it WAS a real mortuary. And it’s even got some questionable characters* in its past, just for fun.
*Which I totally can NOT find now. I’ll keep looking, I know I saved this story some damn place. (Ignore me, I’ve lost more crap lately…. )
I am a ridiculously over-the-top fan of gorgeous old architecture, so I spent much of my time in there gazing about. (Also, I don’t drink, so the extensive and exquisite libations lists were lost on me.) Our adorable and supremely patient server shared some insider info when he saw me taking pictures. When we go back next time, I’m hoping to speak with him again.
For our daily message today I’m not going to transcribe the definition exactly as it is written in the guidebook, there will be some re-writing/re-wording going on, so the quotation marks will be left off.
Confidence ~
St Michael, the Archangel ~
Archangel Michael is with you, shoring up your confidence so that you can fearlessly face (and even enjoy) the tasks before you. This archangel is protecting you against negativity, helping you to remain optimistic and filled with faith, and ensuring that only people and situations of high integrity come to you.
Have confidence in your Guardian’s and Team’s power to keep you safe and secure. As you enter into a new phase of your life, it is natural to feel intimidated by change. You may worry whether you are prepared and qualified for what is ahead of you. Remember though, that the Universe won’t bring you anything that you are unable to do, and since you have decided on your path, YOU won’t have scheduled yourself more than you can take.
Life, and your loved ones on the Other Side, also ensure that you have powerful companions, such as Archangel Michael, to help you in all ways.
Archangels are the overseers of our personal guardian angels…. Michael is described as a prince, and depicted most often as fighting against lower energy in order to protect us all. Many people report miraculous rescues and protection as a result of calling upon him, and for that reason, he is a patron saint of police officers, security guards, and sailors.
St Michael, the Archangel, will help you feel safe and confident if you call upon him.
Once again, I cannot stress loudly enough how valuable I feel that angels are. And as has been said here (plenty of times) before, they are valuable and available for everyone, never just for those who have specific labels on their belief systems. Angels and Archangels do not follow our simply defined titles and rules of segregation, they cross all boundaries and answer the plea of anyone who calls out to them. Always. Very often with stunningly brilliant results.
Lastly, even though I don’t like to end on a sad note, you have a right to hear the truth. My Grand Dog is depressed.
By the time you read this, he’ll be fine, because his girl will have arrived safely back at The Burrow. But right now, he is the saddest dog you have ever seen. Partly it was the stress of our day (the interwebz again!) and how the energy just gets horrible when the only people home with him are both anxious and frazzled. But also, Empress has been tremendously busy lately, with grooming requests (yay!) and trying to find the perfect house* for them to live in (nothing yet, boo).
*Time to take my own assvice and call on some angels for help.
