A sort of scattered (but passionate!) compilation.

Before I forget this, I need to mention something I’ve been seeing.  Like just about every damn day.  Clearly, this is important.  Also, it’s delightful.  Dragonflys!  We no longer have a pond or water feature (although I’m still trying to figure out how to set it up again, I really miss it) but we do live sort of near the canal.

Nearly every single time I wheel the bike out of our garage there is a dragonfly there to greet me.  Today, there were two.  And then later, when I came back, there was a completely different one.  I know it was not the same because it was HUGE compared to the first couple.  For weeks this has been happening.  I saw one yesterday when I crossed the park bridge.

No, that’s not our animal for the day, but we DO have one.

“Wild Horse  ~

Speak your passion aloud and defend those whom you love in words and deed.

Wild Horse, fabulous winged-Pegasus returned to earth, is the epitome of male sexual energy and of the soaring spirit which dance sets free.  His passions and intentions toward his mares are openly declared, his defence of them vigorous.

Strong of heart, Horse knows no fear of others or of rejection.  Like Horse, defend robustly those whom you love from those who would hurt or belittle them, and let them know of your feelings with ardent speech – for Horse knows that Cupid favors the brave.”

I love the imagery of this one, not necessarily the way the illustration is portrayed, but the mental snapshot I have of them all being so carefree and gorgeous out there on the prairies.  So majestic!   And a terrific message too.

One of the topics we were GOING to discuss (before I left town and then didn’t fully return), was what I found out about those folks with the totes and laundry baskets at The TrialsThese kids, remember?  Well, they are volunteers.  It’s like an army of non-paid individuals who come back year after year.  I had no idea!

This group, in particular, is in charge of setting out containers for the athletes to put their personal crap in while they compete.  We watched them march out, one person holding all the buckets, everyone else filing along behind.  Then, after the race or jump or put or toss or whatever, they’d neatly go back, each one bearing a full container.  It was fascinating!  Here is the article I read.

In other news, I’m still not feeling as good as I’d like (emotionally, or metaphysically, or some freaking thing) and I’m still not on my own computer.  Photos and updates will have to be delayed.  More.  Again.  In my tiny moment of previous tidying though, I DID locate some views from the fair.  Beginning with: The Weaver.

So creative!

It’s a quilt!  My favorite part is the weensy bit of knitting on those delicate little needles.  We had to zoom quickly through the textile exhibit so Bruce wouldn’t have to wait too long for us.  I parked him on a bench, where he was NOT when we returned.  We DID find him though, he just wasn’t where we left him.

Historic home in the background.
(Which was actually what I was photographing, those guys were just in the way.)

See?  Not lost at all.  J.D. and Dan and Bruce.  All present and accounted for.  I’ll keep working on getting the rest of our traveling pics organized and up here.  As my waxing/waning mood allows.

Since we were out of town for my Monday class and the pool was closed yesterday, I crashed someone else’s session tonight.  Just stayed over in the corner, out of everyone’s way, and did my own thing.  I felt as though I NEEDED to be in the water.  Physically, it was quite nice,  on another level, it was fairly therapeutic.

And finally, here is your Daily Dog.   (To continue our zoo-like theme, a bonus, below Max.)

On guard.
(But it’s hot out there, so
more like “casual” on-guard.)

When we (The Pentacle People) go to fairs, we wander through all of the barns.  I basically just go along because my children and their father  like to see every creature.  Pretty much without fail, there is a sight which makes us all laugh.  WAY more than one, usually.
