Workin’ It.

Managed another successful day in mall-land.  And by successful I mean that no one died and nothing major went wrong.  Actually it was a pretty easy day.  Long, again, but not too hideous.

I spent some time with the “new boy” I told you about recently.  I was right, Chris will soon be another one of my kids.  He is hugely sarcastic and doesn’t seem to take too many things very seriously.  I like that in a young person.  We were discussing the conversations I shared with all of you last night (NOT that he has seen the blog, many of my employees are SO not doing that assignment, the bastards) and some that he had heard ’round the kiosk.  A woman was walking past, dragging a small boy.  She said to him: we have to go in here so Mama can buy something to cover her belly.  It was one of the clothing shops near us.  Chris said the kid got as far as the entrance of the store and hit the brakes.  It was at that point the child realized what his mother had said and that this was definitely NOT Toys R Us, as he had been promised earlier.  Oh yeah, people are entertaining as hell.

Here is what I saw this noon-ish as I began my day.               At some point last week Daniel DID go rake those leaves off the upstairs deck.  He also come by night before last, hours after he had gone to work, to make a sweep of the front yard with his bright cop lights.  The dogs and I heard a huge crash somewhere in the vicinity of the living room.  Now, I am downstairs, almost directly below the living room.  Axel and I went up to see what it was.  Scooter would not tell us what he saw, and it was obvious he had not caused the crashing noise.  We were puzzled.  And slightly creeped out.  Dan looked around, no branches on the roof, nothing knocked over, not an item out of place, inside or out.  Our mutual conclusion was one of two things: ghosts, loud ones.  Or possibly a deer had jumped the fence and slipped on the deck, gettin’ the hell outta Dodge once he realized this place was fairly K-9 infested.

Haven’t picked up a needle, crossed a stitched, or otherwise crafted in the least since mall duty started.  So I don’t have much to share on that front (will remedy this situation tonight though).  Here is the subversive disaster I designed and made last week.         I am supremely displeased with the end result.  So if anyone wants it they can have it.  For free.  I’ll  do another one with different thread and another type of font.  Hey, maybe Papyrus!

Our card for today was very encouraging though, so that made me feel much better.  And really, who doesn’t want an archangel message like this one?

“Prosperity  ~  Archangel Ariel:  Your material needs are completely provided for as you follow your intuition and manifest your dreams into reality.

I am pouring a cornucopia of prosperity upon you and your life, and ask that you open your arms to receive.  Some of the treasures will come in the form of brilliant ideas, and some will come as opportunities, others will be gifts from the Universe.  We will work together to realize your highest dreams, and I ask that you give any worries to me.  The Gods and I love you very much, and are happy to help in this way.  We know that you will pass along the goodness to others as well.”
