As I sit here and type tonight my boys are out, continuing the celebration that is Dan. His son bought him tickets to see Billy Idol. I am SO not kidding. (HERE is the local take on it.) They are both super excited about this show. (Be sure you click on the links and read WHY this is happening right here in River City, and where the concert was last night.)
But before we get going onto anything else though, I have to give you the (tragically brief) FLP.
Plus an Indiana plate I spotted with some type of eagle maybe. Neither of these I’d seen before.
On our card altar we have one that I really wish I could view in person. I love the muted palette and the barely visible rainbow shine. This seems to have an almost opal-like quality to it.
“Rutilated Quartz ~
vibrational healing, higher mind, reconciliation
You are subconsciously receiving loving vibrations and loving thoughts from someone connected to your past. An episode or conflict that hurt you emotionally is now being healed and reconciled by the power of forgiveness and unconditional love.
Over the coming days you may find yourself emotionally and mentally reciprocating this love as you reflect on a person or past event.
Through this mutual exchange of love, past wounds are now energetically being healed, and all negative attachments resolved and released.”
My curiosity (and late-on-set ADD) got the better of me, so I went agoogling. THIS place had some wonderful info, both factual as well as mythological:
“Brings forth each person’s strengths, originality, aids sleep, relate to others.
Rutile is said to intensify the metaphysical properties of its host crystal and to enhance one’s understanding of difficult situations. It is also said to enhance creativity and to relieve depression and loneliness.
Rutilated quartz is said to slow down the aging process and is said to be a strong healer.”
Super cool, and I’m glad I found that extra info. As we all know, knowledge is power. (But don’t overlook the last line from the guidebook’s definition, the part about release. Letting Go is still our theme, it seems.) Next time we are pedaling past StarGate, I’m gonna stop in and ask if they have any of these. Sounds like one we could all benefit from.

speaking of higher learning, and education (we were, right?), over at Tranifesto, Matt’s place, (HERE) he made an announcement about some teaching news. It’s very exciting, and really, options like this just give me hope.
This Just In:
No doubt, everyone there feels the same way. (Are we all singing along to White Wedding, Dancing With Myself, and Eyes Without A Face right now?!) Thank you again, J.D. Your gift is beyond wonderful.

I heard about the Billy Idol show on our local radio last week. So cool that Dan got to go! love love love this card, and I will happily accept reconciliation.

The way that kid went about the whole thing in Seattle was very sweet, and the way this big time rock star followed up was even better.

I’ve heard of rutilated quartz, but never have seen it. I will keep it in mind should I run across any.
Cool of JD to take his dad to the concert. Glad he loved it! I love extended birthday celebrations! Yay Dan!
~
We aren’t all that hung-up on the actual day of things, never have been, so continuing the festivities into the next week is “normal” for us. Also, fun!

What a great birthday treat. For both of the guys. : )
Wish I had time to drive up to my rock shop in Idyllwild. I’d love some rutilated quartz. Maybe. When I get back from my Aussie trip.

Or you’ll find exactly the right piece WHILE you’re there!

What great kids you have. Glad Dan and JD are having fun.
I love all kinds of quartz. I’m just amazed that time and dirt or sand can make something clear.
~
We do, they are terrific, without question. And every damn day we say Thank You that they turned out this way.
I’m amazed by it too. The more time I spend outside, and paying attention, the more I’m in awe of so much around me.
