Today I’ve been mulling over the concept of messages. Omens, signs, portents, dynamic energy exchanges. (You know what a fan I am of oracles!) The entire idea of how we are made known what needs to be addressed has been on my mind for hours.
I sat down here (in between other things) to get a jump on my work, when I saw this line. And I was inspired anew.
“… every bad thing that occurs is the beginning of a new grand thing to come …”
And last night, I was greatly cheered by an uplifting latenight text from Corina. Part of which said,
“… you are just as much of a miracle as the Spirit Tree. You are the ONLY YOU that there is in ALL creation!”
Later, I was thinking about how some card readers don’t use reversed, or contrary, definitions (Colette* has deemed hers: Challengers). And some do, but often equating a primarily negative connotation to them.
*Hell, does it look like she’s got a new deck over there at her place? M’kay, if you need me, that’s where I’ll be tonight.
As we look at the trio we got today it will become obvious why all of this has been so loud in my head.
(Additionally, I’ve cut down on the amount of guidebook info for these, we’ve seen all the cards now, so we don’t have to read ALL the words every time. Also, I think we may alternate between two and three for each draw. As the mood strikes me.)
“Turning In (r) ~ 4 ~ Water: Emotions
To develop the knack of taking a distance from the mind is one of the greatest blessings . . . . you are ready to take this distance now, and to watch the show without getting caught up in the drama. Indulge yourself in the simple freedom of Turning In whenever you can, and the knack of meditation will grow and deepen in you.
Experiencing ~ 3 ~ Fire: Action
Nature doesn’t bang any drums when it burst forth into flower, nor play dirges when the trees let go of their leaves in the fall. But when we approach her in the right spirit, she has many secrets to share. If you haven’t heard nature whispering to you lately, now is a good time to give her the opportunity.
Receptivity (r) ~ Queen Of Water
. . . . (she) brings a time of unboundedness and gratitude for whatever life brings, without any expectations or demands. Neither duty or thought of merit or reward are important. Sensitivity, intuition, and compassion are the qualities that shine forth now, dissolving all the obstacles that keep us separate from each other and from the whole.”
I’d like to address the upside-down version of what’s going on here first. Like, how are we able to make our peace with the Monkey Mind if we keep LOOKING at it? We can’t, that’s the answer. Letting go is still our goal.
And the Queen is not allowing as much Receptivity as we’d like because, once again, we are still holding on too tightly. Releasing is not the same as saying we WANT to release. Fortunately, she’s patient. And we have life-times to get it right.
Which brings us to Mother Earth and her infinite expressions of love. Every rainbow, every flower, every stone, and every cloud show us her caring, as she gifts us daily with blessings. All we have to do is see them.
One of the more obvious portents in my afternoon was technically man-made, and yet, it also dealt with the Emotional Element.
As I pedaled up near the high school, I could see some flashing lights on the Parkway, but since I would be on the bike path, and not driving, I didn’t think too much about it. Except, the equipment seemed to be near one of our local landmarks.
But then I remembered that sometimes the hosedraggers practice in that parking lot, so I was no longer interested, I rode on past, oh wait. I thought that maybe you’d like to see it anyway. I stopped, and got out my camera, being slightly disappointed that they seemed to have turned everything off.
I didn’t even realize, until I saw these two shots here, that I’d actually captured a surprisingly cool view of them turning the water BACK ON.
While I’m taking these, I can’t always see real clearly how well they turn out (or more likely, don’t). Yep, I was pretty damn pleased with my blind-ass good fortune this time.
Today’s Deck:
Osho Zen Tarot
Festive Greetings OF The Day:
a heartfelt and joyous Happy Happy Birthday to my one and only Mother-In-Law! Yipee for Carolyn !!!
LateNight Gratitude:
thank you all so very VERY much for your kindness, and emotional support. Today was better.

So glad that I was able to hear & deliver the message that you needed! It is the least I can do, considering what an awesome messenger & radio you are for all of us! (And since you’ve been instrumental in the development of my ability to hear the messages!)
And you have delivered another very well-tuned-in message tonight! I have definitely been challenged lately in the “taking a distance from the mind” area, and in the “without any expectations or demands” area! I very much needed those reminders, and the reminder that more frequent meditation is required. And tonight’s “whisper” from nature came in the form of a first-time experience, seeing a lightning flash reflected in the clouds, while looking at the moon! Way cool!
Happy Birthday Carolyn!!!
~
Okay, that lightning flash with the moon view is just plain showing off.
Lol, jk. We make an amazing team,
I love us!

I do like the phrasing of viewing reversed cards as “challengers” and not in the more traditional negative sense of the card’s message, although sometimes that is what comes up via the challenge.
Glad your day was better. I caught the cranky, but Dan has probably filled you in on the why…gods, that was a boring training. Delightful getting to sit with him and have lunch with him, however. Plus my iPhone.
~
Ya know, some of my displeasure of him and seminars/conferences/meetings is just me feeling left out. (Can you see me pouting and stomping my fat wee foot from here?) Except when he tells me that lunch consisted of pork covered in onions! BLECH!!!

Letting go … yeah, I totally suck at that.
~
But you do many other things so damn well.
We can only learn as fast as we are able.

I need to return to learning to meditate. I had been doing it every morning for awhile, then I stopped and haven’t restarted. It would help me a lot.
I’m so glad you are feeling better today! I know it’s not realistic or even useful, but I always want the people I care about to feel happy and good. And those are cool pics of the firefighters with their hoses and water.
~
I always want that too.

Ditto Fokker. I suck at letting go as well. As for Mother Nature, I was totally enjoying the moon out and visible in the bright of day yesterday as I took Spider Bait to band practice.
~
Ha, what a treat!
It just got super clear out,
and she was RIGHT over our heads as Max and I stepped into the yard.

Thanks. Perspective, ya know.

(Glad you enjoyed the cop humour. When we get to sit down together for tea and cookies I’ll share some others.)
Glad you are feeling better today. YaY!!

Me too,
thanks!

The cards are right on target though the explanation of why would be way too long.
Glad you’re feeling better.
~
That’s okay, as long as our messages get through, the why is not always the most important part.

So happy you’re feeling happier. It’s so hard to let go and trust. But if we can it sure is healthier.
~
It totally is.
On both counts.

I’m trying to visualize those hoses washing some of the stressors out of my life.
Glad you had a better day.

Ooooo, great visualization!
