Heath alert! Health alert! I’m sneezing my fool head off here; yet another distraction, once again eroding my concentration. The same day my back went all message-y on me, I also came down with some sort of nose condition. Not a cold exactly, but one of those obnoxious congestion situations.
It started raining on Friday, so I already knew that the barometer on the front of my face would be bothered and trying to get my attention. I’m pretty sure the Anti-Inflammatory Lemonade helped that condition as much as it helped my muscles and joints. (How could it NOT?!) But now it’s all gone, I finished it this morning. I think a new batch needs to be made.
On the reading front, I’ve got one down, three more books to go. And in biking news, we have a sporty new garment in the house, plus a wonderful new outdoor-wear plan.
Because we can’t afford those super expensive (and properly fitted) raingear* pants, we’ve gone with an alternative. Last year for his birthday Daniel received a gift card from his wonderful parents. He used it to purchase a pair of high quality running/exercise-y trousers. He’s worn them in plenty of wet weather, and stayed relativity dry (or at the very least, dried off quickly). His suggestion was that perhaps this might work for me.
*Difference of something that runs around $130 vs less-than-twenty-bucks.
Tonight we found some not-name-brand type, at a very reasonable price, and close to a correct size. (Yeah, and those two SALE shirts, one green one white.) So we got ‘em. We’ll take the new clothes out for a test ride soon, because the rain is back. For good probably.
No luck on the hairbrush. Possibly THAT will be our errand tomorrow before pool time. Today though, on our card alter, we’ve been given a inspiring, and interesting, message.
“Crocoite ~ change, creativity, sexuality
A new phase in your life is just around the corner. Creative possibilities surface from a chance encounter with someone new. This encounter stimulates inspiration, passion, and a greater optimism for life.
Your sexual energy is also on the rise and this draws new people and circumstances into your life that you will find exciting and stimulating. Wonderful changes are in store for you, yet you are also being warned to be cautious.
Appearances can often be deceiving so look for inner beauty and truth before you allow yourself to be swept off your feet.”
I like how this stone looks so much like coral. I have no clue how it appears in real life, but the photo is fascinating. True, too, change is absolutely in the air. Here’s a piece of a larger article Corina sent me,
“…..for the first time in two years–the MOON enters Libra, without SATURN sitting there.
SATURN is an ultimate point of constriction and the one who makes the physical existence possible. If we did not have the ability to ‘constrict,’ and lower our vibration to being dense enough to be “physical,” then we may not exist. So we thank Saturn for this service to existence, and also feel the FREEDOM of Libra, after Saturn has done its work, and left! We are free. This freedom is about authenticity in relationship and socially, at work and at play. We went through two years of ‘killing off all the falsity,’ and now we can find or augment our light heart, possibly buried under two years of change rubble.
Now SATURN has entered the deep realm–the places we don’t always like to visit, like toilets, plumbing, intestines, shadow side, roots, and deep wells of power that may currently be hidden, covered or lost. Now we face two years of SATURN in Scorpio. We are getting into some grunge and clearing shadow, wherever needed, for two years. Whatever strength may have been built in relationships while SATURN was in Libra, will now be put to the test, as we ‘take it deeper‘.”
This was super validating, for today’s draw as well as the signs of Breaking Free we’ve been getting as well. I’m looking forward being able to Transition with more positive energy, not something I was able to do well in the past. But I’m gettin’ better!
Today’s Deck:
Crystal Oracle Cards by Toni Carmine Salerno
FLP:
lots of Texas, bunches of Utahs, and a Montana.

Well fooey! That nose-barometer thing sucks! Eucalyptus essential oil in steam or an essential oil burner, or even a few drops in the wax of a burning candle helps with sinus/congestion/breathing problems, and an OTC medication called Aprodine is great help for opening up sinuses (I had to find it online, because in efforts to crack down on meth-cookers in CA they’ve made it a bitch to get good sinus OTC drugs here).
Hope the new wet weather pants work well!
How funny, yesterday we were talking about Crocs, and now we get Crocoite! Very beautiful stone, that I had never heard of before, but I’m loving the message! It is certainly right in line with all the other stuff. Today I held fluorite crystals and an impromptu affirmation came to me: “I only draw to me people who are willing, of their own free will, to grow and heal.” Wow, this card is a great validation that I am on the right track!
And, falling right in with all this is that our upcoming New Moon is in Libra, so we now get the lunar emphasis on relationships and balance (and that Cardinal Air energy, too, so initiating change in the mental realm is very supported!), free from the “constrictions” that Saturn had on that area during the last two Libra New Moons.
My “personal” New Moon (Moon conjunct natal Sun) is only 5 hours after the world-wide New Moon! I haven’t been able to find any articles on this exact phenomenon, but it feels incredibly significant to me… and then there are the numbers involved… 10/15/12 New Moon @ 5:02, “personal” New Moon @10:05. Feeling very excited about all this!
Oh, and I was guided to a site that contains affirmations and meditations for each New Moon, as she passes through each of the signs… here is this month’s: http://www.crystalwind.ca/astrology/new-moon-meditation-series/2399-meditation-for-the-new-moon-in-libra.html .

“Eucalyptus essential oil” YES! Thank you for reminding me, and hey, I’ve never heard of Aprodine, but you can damn well bet I’m gonna go looking for it now!
Super great Moon info, thanks!

You’re welcome!… forgot to mention that the Aprodine is one of those drowsy-inducing drugs, so I use it only at bedtime, or if I’m so sick that all day/night is bedtime. It is awesome at preventing the being-woken-up-by-snot-running-down-your-face phenomenon that drives me insane!
It’s also great for flights (if it’s a long flight, or you don’t have to be super with-it when you arrive), because it allows your ears to pop whenever they need to, with no jaw moving or gum required!
Great card, and happy news on the astrological front. The right gear makes a world of difference when you’re in the weather.

It absolutely does.
We found out today where ours fell short.

Hope the gear handles the weather for you!
Wonderful stone and what an unusual crystal formation. I was sure it was coral also.
That information Corina sent you is interesting. Certainly I’ve struggled under the rubble of change for the past couple of years, and nearly suffocated from it. It will be nice to be free for awhile.
~
Just got done with tonight’s post, including the results of our rainride. Some of our gear worked well, some, not as much as we had hoped.

Fabulous card, and excellent news. I can use the change and the freedom to spread my wings a bit. Your new gear looks fabu, hope it keeps you warm and dry.

See above reply to Skye. We learned a lot, and that’s always good.

I, too, have sinus issues when the weather changes. Right now we’ve got a warm front and a cold front tussling back and forth above us. I yell at the sky to just pick one, damnmit! My head is going to explode before long. Ugh.
Now that’s a crystal I’ve never heard of. And, boy, could I use some freedom!!
My daughter has been trying to get me to go the microfiber route. (I have clothing issues.) I’m interested to hear what you think of the pants.
~
The pants were fairly nice, much better feeling than I thought they would be. You and I are similar, in not just the sinus category. Have you tried any of these garments on yet? I was nicely surprised by how much I didn’t hate the fabric, once the riding had begun I forgot about the texture. So, that’s saying something right there.

I’m a huge cotton fan. Polyester and crap I’ve had on, mostly dress up crap, and I cannot wait to get out of it. But since I’ve been knitting alot, I’ve purchased some acrylic that hasn’t driven me totally up a wall and some that actually felt nice n soft. So my kids have been pushing at me to try the microfiber shirts n stuff. They swear it’s really comfortable and dries out quickly to keep them cool. They won’t touch cotton sweats anymore except for winter time. So if this stuff doesn’t make you crazy, maybe I should give it a try.
I haven’t agreed to WEAR it yet, like for more than a ride’s worth of time, or an hour at the gym. But yeah, get one piece, and give it a (limited time on your body) try.
I am the same way about dress-up outfits, not gonna happen. Cotton, or naked. Them’s the choices.
I am also picky about hairbrushes. I found one I like about ten years ago and I guard it carefully. I’ve never found another one like it. Good luck. Wish I was the Montana plate you saw so we could go out for Chinese and gab.
~
We got one. But it might be too soft. This is going to be a process, I can just tell.
Me too!!! Time for us to head back there for another big dinner, when can you get here?!

(Oooo, I just had a brilliant idea. We need to plan a Seattle meet-up! All four of us, this time.)
If you plan the Seattle meetup between the 21st and 29th of December, I can make it!!!
yes, that would be awesome! I’m not sure when, but let’s start planning. Unfortunately, Skye, I don’t think it will be around Christmas. We’ll be in parts south with family from Christmas day through the new year.
Much more likely to be after Jan/Feb, Dan and I need to go south before we can go north.
Our Fall trip had to be aborted.
