In thematic news from the Universe today, our daily draw says the same thing that yesterday’s did. Or pretty close anyway. This message is like an affirmation for my afternoon. I met with *A* and we congratulated each other on what a great team we make. Much progress already, in this project of creating a better Me.
“Sodalite ~ intuition, perception, meditation, calm, strength, determination
Keep your calm for this will help strengthen your determination to quietly pursue your dreams. Set aside a little time each day to meditate and reflect on all that you wish to create in your life. Be guided by what you instinctively feel in your heart and trust your intuition, for in doing so, you will draw to you all that is necessary for you to create that which your heart so desires.
At the same time, let go of rigidly fixed expectations or time frames, and trust that your dreams may manifest in ways you have not yet imagined. This card is a positive confirmation; keep the dream alive.”
A lot of what I am working on, personally, is about letting go. So this was really so perfect. It’s also a brilliant reminder of how we are in charge but we aren’t. We have some control, but we do best when we relinquish much of it. Releasing seems to be a challenge for many of us.
I’ve been aware of how much I need to let go for a long time, and as I’ve been acknowledging that reality, it’s truly getting easier to do. With some things. As far as expectations are concerned, I have few left. And I don’t mind this situation, not one little bit. (Funny how that works out.)
Before I got on the bike earlier, and headed out for my appointment, I briefly drove the vacuum cleaner around the living room. We are practicing some new/renewed behavior training with Max, as I reclaim space here in The Burrow. Unfortunately, my old belief that nothing good ever comes from housework nearly derailed me. But then a miracle occurred.
That earring* got sucked up. And made way too much noise. So I shouted (because that’s my initial reaction to nearly everything) and quickly shut off the offending machine. Dan came over as I was loudly exclaiming many bad words. He rescued both parts. I am supremely relieved.
*Not my jewelry but I will repair it for the Empress it belongs to. A new French Wire is easy to replace. Whew!
Speaking of my youngest daughter and the Grand Dog who still seems to be with me a lot, here is another phone photo from our trip. It was accompanied by the caption, “windows are for viewing.”
When I go out, and leave Mr Maximum and my Beloved to their own devices, it’s always fun to find out what they did in my absence. Today, it was this.
In one area of our front yard these is a small composting type of pile, where all manner of detritus goes. We had two small (left-over from LAST year) pumpkins that my mother grew, so a few months ago, they went out as well, and that’s what you can see. Near Hedgehog. Right after that shot was taken though, this precious toy was retrieved, and brought safely inside.

LateNight Gratitude:
my PayPal account continues to be convenient and handy for people, so I am massively grateful for it, and for being given the opportunity to read cards and receive payments.

So glad that *A* is so very helpful, and the card is great validation!
Dan to the rescue, again!
LOVE the silhouette photo of Max, very artistic!
Interesting how one pumpkin is totally still fine (looking) and the other is just a pile of flattened-pumpkin-shaped-mold. They often last so long… oh, this reminds me, I must email you a pic!
~
I KNOW! Those two sat around, inside and outside for about the past 9 months. We put them in that pile and BOOM! One is flat-out rotted and the other is not. I have no idea. Gourds confuse me.

(I shared the photo in tonight’s post. Also, isn’t your birthday this month?)
My birthday is this month, the 19th of it, to be precise.

I love sodalite and I have a polished piece of it in my small stone collection. Maybe holding it while I meditate will help me meditate better. Or, rather, at all.
I like your late-night gratitude! I’m glad you have all that, too.

Any Quite Time you can manage where you focus on clearing your mind and simply breathing is a bonus.

Still pretty thin right now, but I’m being positive and thinking like I’m doing SUPER great.

LOL! I bought a fist size massage stone of Sodalite at the Renfest! When I get around to putting up the Renfest photos, such as they are, I’ll be showing it as well. Interesting that that card came up now!
Love the picture of Max in the car.
Lucky you that Dan was home to work on the vacuum. I’m usually alone when that shit happens. But I now know how to deconstruct the bottom of the vacuum and put it back together!

Wanna know what’s even MORE bizarre? Yesterday I saw, for the first time in my life, a Green Heron, on your blog. Then, mere hours later, I open up the newspaper (which Dan has pre-read, from a few days ago) and THERE is a picture of one on the shore of our local reservoir, with his comment about how he’s never heard of such a thing.
I immediately sent him to your place.
Odd, even for us.

That’s just too funny. **shakes head**
Love that paypal is working out for you! I want a hedgehog. If everyone would let the universe know – even a stuffed one would do… I have no idea why I want one. It’s nuts.

Go HERE and watch the video. It’s written by one of Hanna’s co-workers from Portland Pulp (well, the copy is, the clip is someone else), we met her on Saturday. She is hilarious.
(Also, she is a special ed teacher, so, ya know, she’s a fucking saint as far as I’m concerned.)

Letting go…I finally sent back the formatted copy of my first book in the series. It is now happily going off to galleys. Yay!
Adore that photo of Max.
