Known, Unknown, and with compassionate intent.

It’s nice when we get a negative something behind us, and can say, whew we’ve done that now, don’t have to worry about it any longer.  Today Dan had a minor bike crash.  No serious injuries, just a few small scrapes.  It’s good to have it over and done with.  Let’s just affirm (FIRMLY) that he doesn’t have to do it (ever ever) again.

We went downtown for our Tuesday gym time with Ryon, and then picked up some library hold items.  A series of unfortunate events, along with a profusion of two-wheeled and two-legged path traffic, plus an unwieldy bag full of books, all combined to send him ass over teakettle, nearly into the freaking canal.  He recovered quickly though, and was okay to continue along.  Just, ya know, unsettling.

LCC downtown

Progress report.

We left the house without my camera because I got distracted (I know, what a shocker) so he generously took phone photos of the construction project for us.  There’s no way I can capture how much space this building takes up though, today’s view is what you see from the front.  Next time I get a chance I’ll get you another side shot, the ever uglier angle.

oregon foliage

Read the sign.

On another one of our rides, earlier this season, we noticed a shrub with berries that we couldn’t identify (we can’t identify much, so this is not unusual, as you all know).  At the zoo, there was a native habitat exhibit* for this part of the world, as part of a large new display.

*Including a downed tree made into a children’s slide, which Han and I went through.  J.D. considered it, but then his father made a comment with reference to Pooh getting stuck in Rabbit’s door, so he just took the climbing-down path beside, instead.

native oregon shrubs and berris

Just like near The Burrow.

We were pleased to now have this knowledge.  Finding out shit is kind of our hobby.  It’s always so entertaining when it just shows up like this!

feathers

So tiny, she said.

The other day Corina sent me this, above, phone photo.  It was lovely, and reminded me that I’ve not been seeing many feathers lately.  Instead, it’s been rainbows   Little ones, on me.  Or on the floor in front of my feet.  It started more than two weeks ago, and it’s getting more and more frequent.  They show up nearly every day now.  They’re amazingly beautiful, and brief.

So far I don’t know what they mean.  Other than, to see them and appreciate them.  I haven’t been in a position yet where I could get a picture of them.  Usually we’re out when it happens.  Although, right before we left on Friday, one showed up on my arm when I was packing up in the card altar room.  They are like prism reflections, but I can’t always find the source of what’s causing them.

It’s a bit of a mystery, as are the large number of Minnesota license plates we’ve been noticing.  This afternoon there were three, all within close proximity, but none of them repeats.  Additionally we saw a single Wyoming.  And a brand new Nevada.

Our regular card rotation is back in effect, and we’ve landed on  my working deck.  There was an unanswerablely odd downloading glitch just now, so I had to take re-photograph her.  She didn’t mind.

Queen of Cups

I love this one.  For the peace of it, and the oceanic theme.  Also because she is just such a loving woman.  She cares for us all, in the deepest and most tender way imaginable.  And yet, she’s strong.  Her knowledge is vast, even though it’s her heart that rules.

Today the rich and drape-y teal coloring is most prominent to me.  As is her sea-shell throne and the delicately filmy cover on her goblet.  These, as symbols, are telling us to feel the healing that’s been so needed in our emotions.  As if she just KNOWS when we have been through a rough patch, and are in need of an extra hug.  She is that person for us now, she is that feeling of health and well-being.

Imagine (or click over to calm.com for) the soothing sounds of waves caressing the shore.  Smell that crisp breeze.  Reach out to touch the mist rising off of the water, and the sun warming our skin.  She brings us tactile and physical healing, through her generosity and her caring.  She loves all, nourishes all, and mothers all.   She is the embodiment of positive and life-affirming sensations.

The message is also about emotions, and how they are capable of  manifesting powerfully in to the physical   Reach out and touch someone close by.  If you don’t have a someone near to hand, find one, make contact.

I was slightly tardy with the Moon Phases updates <——- over there.  That section is all current again.  Thanks for your patience.

  1. Sorry about Dan’s crash! FGBV’s

Glad you were able to find out what the mystery berries are! Are they edible?

I hadn’t seen a feather in a while, either… and that one was just so pretty & cute! Rainbows on you, how delightful!!!

Love the Robin Wood Queen of Cups, she is so beautiful! And so very apropos for me, especially following after yesterday’s “follow your beliefs” message! And, Venus (love) just now moved into Virgo (The Virgin), so very synchronistic! (And also my natal placement :) )

Just after I had parked the borrowed car today after pool class I saw a pretty decent sized and simply gorgeous gray feather!
    Of course. :P

  2. Glad Dan is okay. The card is sweet but I don’t think I’ll look for someone to touch at 5:16 am (my mom is gone for the day.) Maybe later.

  3. I saw a couple feathers on our coast trip. Someday I’ll actually take a photo of one for you. Glad Dan’s got the “been there done that” out of his system. We have a motorcycle saying: “there are two kinds of motorcycle riders: Those who have crashed and those who are going to.” I took mine at slow speed and in soft dirt a few years back, thank you. Mrs. Denial took hers at low speed in a parking lot with an acrobatic dismount. Haven’t done my bicycle spill yet though.

Boy, do I have a vision of JD on the slide…

Speaking of pictures, my unexplainable issues from before were also dealing with the last (tattoo) one you sent me. I have it, but can’t seem to get it out of the e-mail. We’ll work on it from here a bit more, and let you know if it needs to be resent.

  4. The Queen of Cups is a lovely image and message. I think I’ll go down the hall and kiss my mother good morning!

When we have over-indulged (which is easy lately, as people keep bringing us food!) we lie on the couch and say “I feel like a wedged bear!” I loved the early Pooh videos. I would watch them with the boys and do the exercises. “Up, down, touch the ground/ Puts me in the mood…Up, down, touch the ground/ In the mood for food.” We are very much like Pooh these days.

Lol, I love that you do this!

While the kids were growing up we watched those videos until the tapes were nearly worn out. And when I grabbed that clip it was so funny how all the words and lyrics came right back!

  5. I love the Queen of Cups, always have. I need to go out and do some errands today, but I don’t plan on touching strangers. I’ll settle for smiling at them.

I snorted at Dan’s comment to JD about going on the slide. Nice, Dad! Too much honey, JD? LOL!

Are the highbush cranberries edible? That would be cool if they are. I love edible berries of all kinds and if you have some near you, you can munch on your walks!

    ~
I didn’t even look to see if we could eat the berries safely or not! He’ll probably go a-googling now that it’s been brought up though. ;)

    Calm.com is freaking awesome.

Isn’t it just the best place?! I am a huge fan, and have gone there several times since Delia first shared it. The photos are as lovely as the sounds.

  7. Bike accidents can be awful. Glad Dan is okay.
I’m up to my ears in work. I could use a hug today. Maybe I’d better give one. ; )

I know from my most recent spill that the shock factor is WAY more than we realize at the time. Even from a tiny bump off the wheels.

  8. Woot! Caught up! I hate not having internet. I’m such an addict. :)

Sooo glad Dan is okay. Bike crashes are no fun.

Loved the zoo and Hanna’s pics. You could put my house in the middle of the zoo and I would be a happy person!

While I was on the road this weekend coming home from taking Saver back to school, I got to drive through a Rainbow. It was one of those rain on, rain gone, rain on type of drives and a Rainbow formed off the back of a tractor-trailer and arched over the road. It was awesome. Yay, for Rainbows!

Glad your trip went well and you guys had a good time!

    ~
Ha! Right through a rainbow. Super cool!

  9. Poor Dan, now that he’s had one, no more. I had mine in Granville Island, my tire got stuck on a tram track and there was a big truck, big black one behind me. Scary. I got up so fast I must have been a blur, thankfully the driver was a vigilant sort of guy. Big Guy had his motorcycle crash at low speed, laid it down and slide under a car a bit twenty years ago. He bought a new one last month and has been getting his twenty years fill in, in six weeks. Glad there is only one accident allowed. Done. Still breathe a whole lot better when he rides up after a two day trip just to take his daughter-in-law for dinner in Nelson. They had a wonderful time while I had dinner with son. Looking after Marlowe the wonder dog. He is so good and I’m walking around the park twice a day and running part of the way. Aren’t you proud of me!

You’ve had your bike spill haven’t you? Glad you had so much fun with the kidlets and dog and Dan.

    You’re running now?!

  10. Oh no! So happy Dan’s okay. And I’m glad the mystery cranberries are cleared up. (Even though I politely refrained from inquiring about the card the other day, you know how much I hate not knowing.) :)

    ~
    I do know.
Because I hate it too. :P
