Within, Without, and All Around Us.

There has been quite a bit of (partially self-induced) chaos lately.  As such, a festive occasion came and went, with nary an acknowledgment.  For shame!  So, let’s begin by remedying that situation, right freaking now.

I’d like to extend a personal message to my outstandingly, fabulously, and overwhelmingly generous sister-in-California Michelle and her Beloved, the most awesome and terrific Bruce.  I hope Saturday was wonderful, filled with love and gifts.  29 years is nothin’ to sneeze at!  Happy (belated) Anniversary to you both.

Okay, felicitations out of the way, warmest and most heartfelt salutations sent, let’s keep moving along (I am kinda late tonight).  We went out this afternoon on our bikes (and later in the car), seeing many vehicles from lots of places, gobs of which were not here local.

Dude was so damn lost.

Trust me when I say this one was from Arkansas.  Right after we spotted, and tried to get out of the way of, this guy, Dan saw a Minnesota motor home, then we saw two MORE Minnesotas.  Followed by a New Mexico.  And then, we saw something completely different.

WTF?!

Rabbits.  In the park.  With little cotton-tails and everything!  About 20 feet from the pathway.  NOT.  EVEN.  KIDDING.  I nearly fell over trying to stop quickly, and yet not alarm them.  I needn’t have worried.  Dan walked up on the adorable pair, fairly closely, to get this phone photo.  I was too shocked to manage digging my camera out of our bag and then running it.

And in Clean All The Things news, here is the new version of our card altar, same configuration, but more elbow-room.

tarot and oracle cards

Ahh, so spacious.

There is less risk of the entire mess just flinging it’s Magickal self elf to the floor this way (the tabletop is now actually screwed on to the base).  Also, when we get back from our weekend adventure, I’ll put some of those others (that we’ve taken out of the rotation but who still seem to call out for attention) in a separate row close to the wall.  I feel as though there will be more movement of these decks, but not sure how that’ll end up yet.

I’m going to take these cards with me, along with my Robin Wood Tarot.  When I got up today, this one wanted to be our daily message.

Angel Of Psychic Ability  ~

Your intuition and psychic abilities are strong and present.

Your intuitive and psychic abilities are very strong and this gives you the ability to see through things.  You are being urged to pay particular attention to what you sense and feel, rather than what you are told and shown.

Trust your instincts when you are around particular people or situations.  You will instinctively know what is right for you.  Regardless of the statistics or how professionally it is presented, if something doesn’t feel right for you, then it’s not.”

I know that some folks may automatically react by shying away from this type of omen  (and not just because of those absurdly drawn eyes).  But don’t, okay?  Give her a chance.  Sit with this image, and the words, quietly for just one full minute.  Then let it all go, asking that your inner guidance (no matter what you call it) be strong and loud.

If you feel like adding in some of your own belief system’s iconography or phrasing, please do so.  If this is plenty for now, go with that.  Just DO hold this message close.  It feels VERY important that we all stay alert for our inner voices, our Team, our angels, our guides, and our loved ones on the Other Side.  They really are working diligently so that we can hear them and heed them.

Excursion Update:

As stated over there <——–  under the heading of Additional Helpful Reminders, we, The Pentacle People (plus Adam) are going on a journey.  Hanny had suggested a family camping trip last month.  But we couldn’t quite get that together, so we’ve revised our plan and we’re heading to Portland next weekend.  She’s found and reserved us a budget hotel (one that accepts dogs, natch).  The first clump of us arrives on Friday, and some combination will stay through Monday.

So far, the sight-seeing request list includes: Powell’s, OMSI (?), a pool supply place, and the zoo.  A partial contingent may also attend a scheduled fight on Saturday evening, but that’s not confirmed.  Otherwise, we’re mostly just going to be ourselves and wander from eating-and-drinking place to eating-and-drinking place.

  1. We won’t know for SURE about the fight until the day of, but I think it’s pretty firm. And there is a LIST of places to go. Still not sure about the film crew; I feel like someone should really document National Lampoon’s The Olsens Go To Portland.

Full Contact Fighting Federation: Rumble At The Roseland

    • Yep, this needs a documentary. What is scary is that Mrs. Denial and I are riding up to Mt. St. Helens this weekend on the bikes, and staying with friends of friends in Bridal Veil.

Ha! Will we maybe see you on the road then?! :P

    • Your link is up Jade (but still a horrible cliche), let us know when we have confirmed that the fight is a go.

Weeeeee, this going to be SO ridiculous !!!

  2. Love seeing wild rabbits! It’s amazing that Dan could get close to them, usually they are so sketchy.

OMFG, that Hyperbole and a Half is frickin hilarious! Thanks for sharing! So glad you were able to get the card altar alteration accomplished. and I see a pentacle I recognize! ;)

I usually try to be, but I will be extra-open to guidance from my innards… and, yeah, really, Toni, again with the eyes?!? Seriously, WTF?

    ~
Yes, you DID see a familiar piece up there. The brilliant idea to give Pinkey a front yard tableau sort of fizzled. Doesn’t mean it won’t still happen……

  3. Wandering from eating place to eating place sounds like the perfect family vacation. Yeah, I can see this as a National Lampoon thing. And, Julie, if you haven’t seen European Vacation, let me warn you; do not let Dan take a video of you clowning around nekked in the shower.
Your altar table looks lovely and so not chaotic.
Will think of you at the pool, as usual. Heading there in a moment.

Lol, not a chance EVER of a camera being ANY where near me when I don’t have SOME form of garment on my person. I barely let the pictures happen when I AM clothed. :?

  4. The Family Fun trip sounds lovely, although not the fight, but that’s just me. The eating and drinking establishment to eating and drinking establishment path, plus OMSI and all that sounds like fun.

I’m already keeping my inner eyes and ears tuned. There’s a great discussion of twitter and FB over at Jenny’s and my opinion of using them to self-promote is being validated, in spite of what experts tell me. I’ve decided not to be a social networking expert but would like to be a blogger for hire. That I can do.

Put those new ideas into the form of an Affirmation, and make it happen! :D

  5. Ohhhh, Powell’s. I loved it there. I could have happily wandered through each room for ages. I also recommend VooDoo donuts. It was yummy. Have a lovely time with your family! :)

I was planning on some meditation time soon anyway, so I’ll just add this card’s message to it. It feels important to me today.

    • Voodoo opened their third location literally a block from me, in Eugene. I can smell them from my apartment. It’s just mean.

    • And I just saw your tweet about Chopped — I love watching that show! They make such appetizing foods out of truly bizarre ingredients.

I was recently schooled on perspective though, Emmy told me that the entire thing is far too nerve wracking for her. She was IN cooking competitions (lots of ‘em, and she rocked), so this whole idea makes her nearly burst spontaneously into a debilitating rash, lol.

From MY viewpoint, it’s fun and entertaining. And not nearly as harsh as some other “vote you off the island” programs, which just break my heart. Or infuriate me so that I throw things at the screen. For me, it’s like you said, super interesting. Because I have NO kitchen skills, and feel NO pressure to think up ways to use the basket ingredients. I simply enjoy learning.

  6. Yes, the Olsen Family Vacation video would be a major must see. Hope you all have a blast. I’m a big believer in gut instincts, so I’ll be on the alert for situations and I will trust myself. Thanks. : )

Your instincts are VERY well tuned.

  7. Ever since I read them Watership Down, my girls are NUTS about seeing wild rabbits. They speculate if it is Acorn, or Hawkbit, or even Hazel himself!

    ~
You can totally tell them that these were most likely some Across The Pond relatives. They seemed highly intelligent, and were quite lovely to find right there next to our bike path.

  8. Hope your vacation is a good one! I’m leaving on the 28th to pick up Saver of Bugs so we can all do the last weekend of the Renfest! (More crystals…)

Alas, with all the cats running around, we seldom get to see wild bunnies anymore. Lucky you!

    ~
    Yay for kid/family time !!!

  9. Bunnies! I have a couple who come into my yard periodically. They’re cute, but they ate all the peppers we planted. Haven’t seen them too much since the skunk started frequenting our yard for midnight snacks.

It sounds like you have a fine time planned for next week. :)

    ~
Well, Mr McGregor, there is THAT aspect to wild bunnies, sure. But hey, sounds like the skunk has things well under control. :P

  10. Happy vacation with the family. Love Portland. Love Powell’s Book store. Love the food. It is just a great city. Enjoy every moment.

I am SO looking forward to this ADVENTURE !!!

  11. Awe Bunnies – So cute. I had a porch bunny for a while that the cats accepted as one of their own.

Have a great family get away. Sounds like fun.

It has been YEARS since I’ve seen any, decades perhaps. So this was totally cool. And simply SO out of context!

  12. the card altar looks great! have fun in Portland!

    ~
    Thanks, on both. :)

I am really feeling the urge to do more in that room though, as soon as we get it to the final “here’s what stays and here’s what goes” stage. Paint maybe? A new (to me) room rug? Something.

  13. Your alter looks lovely and peaceful. Well done!

We are teeming with wildlife here in the wilds of suburban northwest New Jersey. Even though I see something wild every day, I am excited each time. A rabbit ran across the road the other night and I yelled, “Bunny, bunny, bunny!”

I am uniformly unimpressive with animal nicknames–I call the fox “Foxy, Foxy, Foxy,” the bears “Big Black Bear” and “Tiny Troublesome Bear,” and the deer “Vermin.” It’s a little mean, but really, they’re everywhere!

    Enjoy your family va-ca!

Since I have been no further east than Salt Lake City* (which I was NOT impressed with and tried to get out of as fast as possible) I had no clue what your delightful Garden State was like. But now, having seen some or your pictures (and some of Karen’s), I have a better image of it’s glory and natural beauty.
I LOVE that about the interwebz!
