As you saw from yesterday’s late check-in, we made it. A delightful drive and arrival. The coast is gorgeous! (When ISN’T it?!) Our room is lovely (holy crap I love hotels). The company is/was terrific. We made Skye and her friend meet us at the pool.
We walked a bit on the pier and then had dinner. Very nice, very very nice evening. There had been a promise of fresh-baked cookies, but we missed those (desk info was slightly lacking, but the employees have all been perfectly fine). For dessert we raided the vending machine instead. Good enough. (Vacation!)
That was taken last night, it’s before noon right now, as I pre-write this. I’m having a wee bit of difficulty concentrating (also, Dan has the TV on to check baseball scores, extremely distracting). Pretty soon we’ll be going back down to the pool, one last time, before we have to pack and move on to our next destination. So let’s get to our daily draw. (Because, seriously, stop looking at that horrible picture up there.)
Six of Wands
Valor and Victory. Riding in to save the day. Joy in the arrival. Over all happiness and peace with our current situation.
Wands, the symbol of sparking inspiration; burning with life. Energy from all of those brilliant ideas that, seemingly, spring from nowhere/everywhere.
Basically this card tells us that we’ve been doing a very good job, we’ve done our work, and can now march right in for our prize. If it’s a vacation, a tiny break, a grand tour, or simply a quiet moment of me-time that we’ve awarded ourselves, take it. We’ve earned it. We are victorious and need only reach out to receive our gift.
We have overcome the recent adversities, so enjoy this celebratory time. It won’t last. But then, nothing truly does. Sometimes, that helps us to appreciate these delightful moments all the more.
Today’s Deck:
Robin Wood Tarot
Today’s Key Words, which just now popped into my head:
Joy and Appreciation
Now, I gotta go, have to grab that water weenie and get back in the pool. There may or may not be a chance to check in again before we head home.
(OH! Almost forgot. Yesterday’s Foreign License Plates have been primarily BC. With one Missouri.)

You look so very at home in the pool. Glad you’re having a good time. I like hotels, also.
I can march right in for my prize, eh? I’m going to have to check my lottery tickets and see if I won.
Yep, the you looks good in the pool. Never mind your opinion about the photo, it is your element. I hope you continue to recharge at the beach.
Hotels are fun. Great card. Nice pic.
Damn, we had fun! I enjoy being with you guys immensely (see how I’ve slipped back into “you guys” and away from “y’all” in just a few days?). My face is sunburned, my EYES are sunburned from not wearing my sunglasses, and it looks like another sunny day at the beach today. But now I have sunscreen!
I’m so glad you guys got to have a mini-vacation and join me on mine!
I wish I looked one fifth as good as you in my bathing suit. : ) Glad you had fun. And Skye you sound healthy and happy. I’m in between projects and was about to start on some other work but after reading the message may take a refreshing mini-break instead.
Glad you are having a good time. Hoping for some beach pictures (hint, hint).
You look great in your bathing suit, all calm and beautiful in the water. Wow. If I could look so good. Love hotels too. Part of the leave the stuff at home and enjoy the time away, even if it is a mini vacation. Heading your way soon, well, Portland. Whole family and the wonder dog.
Take care, safe trip to your next destination.
I welcome the wands. We’ve had a bit of drama here with one of the boys, and I lost my mind for a few minutes today. But then I considered my options, let the anger go, and focused on the journey ahead. I wouldn’t have called it a “celebratory time,” but it was a moment of calm. So maybe that was my prize.
You look great! Safe journey home!
