To Give.

Before I forget, check out London Mabel’s place here for a recent post that was too good not to share.   (We’ll wait……)

All done?  Great.  Now we can continue.  Although, we’re on the brief side today because it was super busy here in The Burrow (and out of it), so I’m sitting down late.   There was an appointment with *A* and then a drive out to the airport to retrieve my Hurricane.  (She’s here for the service this weekend, and also, she was on the freaking news earlier as a quick featured commentator about that Nike ad with the kid running.)  We stopped at the store for a few essentials (salad items, a carton of yogurt, and some cookies).  Then we rode the bikes for five miles, in a huge big circle (my Route).

And here she is posing with Max so I can be even more efficient, two-in-one!.  Daily Dog, plus her brilliant tattoo (inspired by a note my father gave her for her high school graduation).

On our card altar we’re back to the regular rotation, with a really cool message.  (And saint.)

“Generosity  ~  St Nicholas of Myra

You are asked to start or continue giving time, money, assistance, or goods.  This act helps you know how much you have, and leads to a feeling of abundance that automatically attracts greater prosperity into your life.

The more you give, the more you will receive.  Contribute with joy and be totally detached from the outcome of your offering.  St Nicholas reminds you of the happiness that you receive when you give to others from the spirit of love.   Allow yourself to be surprised at how the universe gives back to you.”

This is like the suggestion that when we are feeling the most down, we get out of our own head and make the effort to help others.  It shows us how fortunate we are, and karmically, it pays big dividends later on down the line.  Also, it’s cheerful.  Even when (or specifically when) we are very sad.
